Excellent game. If you're looking for a good quick challenge for your newly purchased Switch, you really need to grab this and Shock Troopers. The alternate paths alone guarantee every time you play will be a different experience.
@minotaurgamer and everyone else who likes to throw the old SMW Japanese subtitle around for pointless arguments: They could simply call it Super Mario World 2 in Japan. Done.
This old argument is simply tired. Stop being pedantic.
A sequel to any one of those games would have been nice. Their pirate game is definitely not going to get me to run out and buy an XBone, but something like these would have.
@jdarrell The Echolocator isn't about taking zones, it's about anticipating where your opponents are coming from and subverting their attack. In places like Port Mackerel or Salt Spray Rig, it can quickly let you know whether to spend time inking surrounding areas or finding an optimal point for defense since those maps were built for defensive players.
But this depends on your play-style. It doesn't suit aggression very well, but does wonders for defense.
I'm so glad we're getting obscure NES classics on the eShop. If only we could get more like The Guardian Legend, GUN NAC, Little Samson, Metal Storm, and Gimmick! instead of going weeks without nothing.
Not quite as good as the first three, some of the difficulty in this can be more on the cheap side instead of challenging, but still a worthy game and conclusion to what is probably the best overall Mega Man series.
Inti Creates + Action platformers = always a good time
Contra is dead, Goemon is dead, Castlevania is dead, Twinbee is dead, Gradius is dead, Parodius is dead, Sunset Riders is dead, Snatcher is dead, Suikoden is dead, Rocket Knight Adventures is dead, Jackal is dead, Zone of the Enders is dead, Boktai is dead, and Hudson Soft as a whole is dead.
Why should I believe any differently in regards to Metal Gear or Silent Hill?
Get out of the game industry already. You're already worthless and you don't even realize it.
This game was good, but not quite the SMRPG sequel that I wanted. TTYD was much better as were the first and third M&L games.
I'm also really hoping Paper Mario Wii U is announced at E3 and is a return to the older style of TTYD. It's about time we get a game in that style, isn't it? We've been waiting for so long.
@JaxonH True enough. Just look at some of the comments here saying it's a terrible game because of its art style. So say goodbye to new IPs. Nintendo still can't read fans' minds and portray the exact 1::1 replica of their dream game yet, so they shouldn't even bother.
It's a shame, too. Because Codename Steam is one of the best games on the 3DS.
There is no excuse for it to not be as good as it was on the Wii but better.
Nintendo telling Natsume, for example, to not release any more SNES games is just plain silly. "No, Natsume, we don't want the money people will pay for Pocky & Rocky! Instead we'll have another week where we release NOTHING AT ALL."
How does that make sense?
The VC could be the best retro game service out there, but Nintendo is purposely gimping it and I have no idea why.
@scamander YIDS and YNI both suffer from being very slow and tedious games. The original Yoshi's Island has a more brisk pace that makes exploration enjoyable. The less said about YS the better. It looks like they finally recaptured the brisk feel with this new game.
And given that Good Feel made the underrated Wario Land: Shake It (which is pretty hard if you go for 100%), I feel they'll nail it with this.
It looks like the stage will probably be Dream Land 64, which makes a lot of sense.
I bet that also means if there's another N64 stage it will probably be Yoshi's Island since it was also a Melee stage. Personally I'd prefer Saffron City or Peach's Castle instead, but who knows what Sakurai will do at this point?

Re: FDG Entertainment Wants to Know if We'd Like Monster Boy on Cartridge for Nintendo Switch
@Sir_Deadly Yes, it's the same creator. They only called it Monster Boy because the series has a strange naming convention.
Re: Review: Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap (Switch eShop)
With this and Monster Boy it looks like the series is having a strong comeback. I hope these guys get to remaking the next games as well.
Re: Review: Shock Troopers (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
No mention of the alternate paths? It changes the game every time you play it. Really makes it a new experience every time.
But I'm fairly biased. This is probably my favorite Neo Geo game. The sequel is nowhere near as good.
Re: Review: Metal Slug 3 (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
Excellent game. If you're looking for a good quick challenge for your newly purchased Switch, you really need to grab this and Shock Troopers. The alternate paths alone guarantee every time you play will be a different experience.
Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Coming To Switch, Wii U Version Deader Than Drac Himself
Wii U will be dead by 2018. No point throwing money in a furnace.
Re: Disney Afternoon Collection Includes Six NES Classics, But It's Skipping Nintendo Systems
I can just imagine the person putting this together thinking, "No, I don't think Nintendo fans would like a chance to play these old Nintendo games."
Golf clap Good ol' Capcom.
Re: Matters Of Import: Fusing Classics In Puyo Puyo Tetris On Nintendo Switch
The demo was really addictive. Can't wait to play all those modes in English when it comes out. Excellent choice of game for the Switch!
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (North America)
Blaster Master and Neo Geo. Great first week for my Switch!
Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)
This game is awesome. Having a blast (Pun fully intended!)!
Re: Friend Codes Are Back on Nintendo Switch, But There Are Other Options
@impurekind IGN in a nutshell.
Re: UK Nintendo Switch eShop Lists Neo Geo Titles for Launch Day
Shock Troopers is a classic. Highly underrated.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd March (North America)
No Arcade Archives? Crap, I was really hyped for that.
Re: Video: Super Bomberman R Gameplay And Intro Sequence Get Shown Off
So hyped for this!
Re: Blizzard Tweet Prompts Hopes for Hearthstone on Nintendo Switch
Overwatch is a perfect fit.
Re: Super Nindie Maker: Choice Provisions' Paratroopa Pounce
Very good level. It's exactly the type of level I bought this game to play. Actually, I made a bunch of classic style Mario levels, too.

Give them a go if you feel like it.
Re: Review: Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
10/10 aside, this is probably the best NL review I've seen in a while.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U eShop Games of 2015 - Summer Edition
RIVE was such a pleasant surprise from that demo. I'm definitely most excited for that.
Re: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
I can honestly not believe the top few comments here. This crossover is an amazing idea.
Re: Nintendo Is A Slave To Its Past Success, Says Gearbox President Randy Pitchford
CRTL+F "aliens", one result.
I guess people aren't aware of how shady Pitchford actually is. Might wanna look up the history behind that game.
Re: Feature: Our Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo at E3 2015
@minotaurgamer and everyone else who likes to throw the old SMW Japanese subtitle around for pointless arguments: They could simply call it Super Mario World 2 in Japan. Done.

Re: Nindies@Home E3 Promotion Offers Wii U eShop Demos With 15 Percent Off The Final Game
RIVE, Freedom Planet, and Mutant Mudds are the must-plays, IMO.
Re: Video: Check Out the Official Trailers for the Nindies@Home Games
RIVE, Freedom Planet, and Mutant Mudds, were the best demos. Will definitely be getting those when they release.
Re: Rare Replay on Xbox One Will Include 30 Games, Including Classics from Nintendo Systems
I'm not sure what's amazing here. I own these games already. How is this a big deal?
Re: Rare Replay on Xbox One Will Include 30 Games, Including Classics from Nintendo Systems
A sequel to any one of those games would have been nice. Their pirate game is definitely not going to get me to run out and buy an XBone, but something like these would have.
I'll stick to waiting for Yooka Laylee.
Re: Arc System Works Now Owns The Rights To All Of Technos Japan's Titles
Hard Corps Uprising makes me want a Double Dragon done in that style. With beat em up gameplay, of course.
Hopefully this means those IPs can actually get attention now.

Re: Guide: Use these Splatoon Tricks & Advanced Techniques to Improve your Inking
The echolocator is incredibly valuable to have in Splatzones. I would say it's a better ability to have than even Inkstrike in that mode.
Re: Video: RIVE's Latest Explosive Trailer Invents An Entirely New Word For Destruction
@mushroomer Good call, it really does look like a mix between those two games.
Being a 16-bit nut, I'm sure to enjoy this.
Re: Playtonic Wants Yooka-Laylee To Eclipse Banjo-Kazooie When It Comes To Sheer Size
This game is gonna be so good.
Re: Mighty No.9 Looks Rather Neat in This 60fps Trailer
Looks great! Inti-Creates action platformers are always great, though.
Re: Review: Little Ninja Brothers (Wii U eShop / NES)

Re: Splatoon's Ranking Battle 'Splatometer' is Supposedly Creeping Upwards to Unlock Mode
This game is surprisingly tight and addictive.

Re: New SNES Title Gets Funded for a Wii U eShop Release
You're welcome! I'm glad it got the little bump it needed to get an eShop version.
Re: Review: Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue & White (Wii U eShop / GBA)
@icedude545 We're still at the point where dark and gritty = good, but corny and cheesy = bad. Unfortunately, the trend has yet to go away.
The first three BN games are great. Never played the later ones but always heard conflicting opinions about them.
Re: Humble Nindie Bundle Allows Wii U and 3DS eShop Gamers in North America to Pay What They Want
Got it for the few games in there I don't have. Either way, it's quite a deal.
Re: Review: Paper Mario (Wii U eShop / Nintendo 64)

Re: Review: New Super Mario Bros. (Wii U eShop / DS)
By far the worst NSMB game with the most uncreative level design, but it's not a bad game. Just not great in any way.
I would easily recommend any of the other games first to anyone who has never touched the sub-series, though.
Re: Natsume Suggests That Nintendo's Moving Away From SNES on Wii U Virtual Console
Make a call to Sega, Konami (Hudson), and SNK already.
What is taking so long?
Re: Poll: Is It Time For a Fresh Alternative to the Virtual Console?
There is no excuse for it to not be as good as it was on the Wii but better.

Re: Mega Man & Bass Kickstarts "Mega May" On Wii U Virtual Console
@EarthboundBenjy GBA, of course.
Shame MMZ2 didn't win. It's the clear best game here.
Re: The Legend of Zelda’s Tingle Would Be An Amazing Boss In Shovel Knight According To Yacht Club Games Programmer
Not Tingle.
It should be Metaknight.
Re: Exclusive: Behind The Scenes On Playtonic's Yooka-Laylee
@TeeJay Because people want platformers. It's sad that Microsoft and Capcom don't realize that, but at least people like Playtonic do.
Re: Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter Campaign Smashes Its Funding Goal In Less Than An Hour
Backed for the Wii U version.
Glad to see it's doing so well. And there are still over forty days left!
Re: Exclusive: Behind The Scenes On Playtonic's Yooka-Laylee
They were funded in forty minutes.
I'd say that final stretch goal is in the bag at this point.

Re: Matters Of Import: Cleaning Up The City In 3D Streets Of Rage 2
So glad this is in the next phase of 3D Classics. Gunstar Heroes and Sonic 2 should be great, too.
Hopefully they finish off the Genesis SoR, Sonic, and Shinobi series with 3D Classics, as well. I would buy them all.
Re: Rumour: More Super Smash Bros. Code Digging Points to Five Planned DLC Characters and Seven Stages
It looks like the stage will probably be Dream Land 64, which makes a lot of sense.
