@MasterBlaster Microsoft has always had atrocious Backwards Compatibility. Nintendo usually has the best BC support. The difference is that they usually don't keep support for hardware for very long.
Anyway, you can still play WiiWare and VC games from the Wii on the Wii U, so I don't see why they would do it any differently next gen.
@BensonUii I think this is a good point and it's why I'm getting these while they're $10 now. There is no guarantee that the next Nintendo system will play Wii discs, but it almost certainly will play eshop games like this.
That said, I hope third party games are on the way. Kororinpa and GoldenEye especially.
I'll continue to wait for Treasurenauts, if it's really going to be that much better in the end, but it was my most hyped indie game of the past year so I can't help but being disappointed that it wasn't meant to be.
This is an awesome game. Circle of the Moon and Aria of Sorrow are two of the best games on the GBA. Harmony of Dissonance is just a total bore with the most boring Metroidvania level design I've ever trudged through.
It doesn't have "Zelda" or "Mario" in the title so it doesn't get a 10. NL never gives anything a 10 these days unless it's from one of those two series.
This game succeeds at everything it sets out to do. One of the best of the 16-bit era. Full stop.
Are you kidding me? This doesn't do anything better than COTM and the music is way worse. If you've played Symphony of the Night this game's weaknesses are even more noticeable.
The bosses are jokes, the level design is bland, and the game is a cakewalk.
This was easily the weakest of the three GBA Castlevania games.
This game is awesome. I also really like Aria, but this is an excellent combination of old school and new school Castlevania that has never really been done before or since.
I'm surprised there are people that like HoD more. That game is a total snooze.
Will be getting it on Wii U for the digital offer. Been playing Shantae since the GBC, no reason to start complaining about things it's had since day one.

Re: Review: Sonic Advance (Game Boy Advance)
I still don't get how Dimps could make this game and then mess up so badly on Sonic 4.
Re: GBA Classics Sonic Advance And Mega Man & Bass Arrive On The Japanese Wii U eShop Next Week
Sonic Advance is excellent. The only fault of the game is the special stages. Otherwise, this is what Sonic 4 SHOULD have been.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Double CD Soundtrack Listing is Revealed in Full
No Ship Deck? Aw well, it's not a bad soundtrack. Just missing some personal faves.
Re: Video: Does Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Wii U Offer Anything New?
@MasterBlaster I agree, their next system probably will be great.
Re: Video: Does Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Wii U Offer Anything New?
@MasterBlaster No, I suspect Nintendo will have something in place. Not particularly laughable, I don't think.

Re: Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars Due in March and Will be Cross-Buy on Wii U and 3DS
Not interested. Go back to the Donkey Kong '94 style, please.
Re: Nintendo Reveals New Range, Details and Compatibility for amiibo
That Ness amiibo is going to sell out really fast, I can see it now.

Re: Review: Mega Man Zero (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)
This game is awesome. Can't argue with the review or final score.
But Zero 2 and 3 are classics. Anyone who likes this game, really needs to play those.
Re: Review: Meme Run (Wii U eShop)
I can't believe this crap is on the eshop.
Re: Video: Watch How Sonic CD Made A Family's Christmas Back In 1993
A re-release on the eshop would be nice. Especially in 3D and portable.
Re: Feature: A Year in Development - Renegade Kid
I'll continue to wait for Treasurenauts, if it's really going to be that much better in the end, but it was my most hyped indie game of the past year so I can't help but being disappointed that it wasn't meant to be.
Anyway, good luck with 2015, RK!
Re: Review: LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Wii U)
I keep hoping for Lego City Undercover 2 to be announced.
Re: Contra Advance Is Locked And Loaded For A Wii U Virtual Console Sortie
Wait, where IS Operation C? Why didn't we get that yet?
Ugh, Konami.
Re: Mega Man Zero Arrives Along With More Discounts on the Wii U eShop
Mega Man Zero is excellent. Anyone complaining about difficulty should just use save states. I can't wait for 2 and 3 to be added.
On the other hand, Game Boy MMIV is on sale. Everyone should rush out and get it.
Re: Black Forest Games Confirms New Giana Sisters Title
Someone needs to port Giana Sisters DS to the eshop. It's a real gem.
Re: Contra Advance Is Locked And Loaded For A Wii U Virtual Console Sortie
@DefHalan Not at all.
Konami: Contra NES, please.
Re: Shantae And The Pirate's Curse All Set For Festive Wii U Release in North America
Awesome. I put off getting the 3DS version for this one. Should be fun!
Re: Review: Steel Empire (3DS eShop)
It's on sale now, so anyone wary at the price should jump in. It's an excellent game.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th December (North America)
@Windy Steel Empire is certainly worth $15. There's more than enough content, top notch gameplay, and an excellent presentation to make that case.
If someone isn't going to get it at a very reasonable $15, then they never will.
Re: Review: Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal (3DS)
I'm still awaiting the next Sonic Team game.
Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (Wii U)
All that hemming and hawing and you gave it a 9? Might as well have left it without a score.
Re: Soapbox: Sonic, It's Time to Talk
I'll worry when the next Sonic Team game is as bad as Sonic '06.
Re: Mighty Final Fight and Mario Pinball Land To Hit North American Virtual Console on 27th November
NOA always has to hold back something NOE and NOJ puts out. No idea why.
Re: Review: Super Mario Advance (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)
The only reason I'm glad they're releasing these is that I hope it means the DKC GBA games will get the same release treatment.
Dig that GBA DKC3.
Re: DK: King of Swing Looks Set for a Western Wii U Virtual Console Release
Come on, NOA. I want to play some DKC trilogy on my Gamepad.
Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (Wii U)
Great review. Really gutsy not giving it a score since that seems to be all people who read reviews want.
That said, this looks like the ultimate Super Smash Bros. game. Can't wait until Friday!
Re: Feature: These Are The Mario Kart 8 DLC Packs We Want To See
What I'd really like is a battle mode DLC pack.
Battle Course 2 (SNES)
Double Deck (N64)
Battle Course 4 (GBA)
Luigi's Mansion (GC)
Funky Stadium (Wii)
Wuhu Town (3DS)
That can't be too much to ask for, especially since we got no new battle mode courses in 8.
Re: Feature: These Are The Mario Kart 8 DLC Packs We Want To See
A Sega racing pack without OutRun. That's like making a platformer list without Mario.
I liked the Super FX one the best because it seems like the only way we'll ever see those games re-released in any form.
Re: Upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Patch To Address Balance Issues
Buff Kirby and Luigi, please. Nerf Greninja and Rosalina.
Little Mac is nowhere near the most OP character.
Re: Review: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)

Re: Feature: Does Super Smash Bros. Wii U's Smash Tour Live Up To Expectations?
Couch co-op > Online. Every time. I'm glad Nintendo realizes it's 2014 and most people prefer couch co-op as opposed to online.
This mode looks like a ton of fun. Certainly much more than SSE which I played a grand total of once. What a slog that mode was.
Re: Nintendo 64x64: Doom 64
A VC release of this would be excellent.
Re: Nintendo 64x64: Diddy Kong Racing
This more than made up for the disappointing Mario Kart 64.
Re: Nintendo 64x64: Perfect Dark
I miss when FPS games had options and modes like this game does.
Re: Nintendo 64x64: Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon
I really wish Konami would put this on the VC.
Re: New Nintendo Direct Airing 5th November
@rferrari24 I can't buy Goemon's Great Adventure, Mario Party 3, or Body Harvest on the Wii VC. It wasn't that greatly represented as a system.
Re: Nintendo 64x64: Super Smash Bros
I still play this game nowadays. One of the few N64 games I still pull out.
Re: Luigi's Mansion Arcade May Potentially Be a Thing in Japan
I'm glad this series is still getting attention.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Land III (3DS eShop / Game Boy)
@ashlyquin This month, I'm pretty sure. November is DKC's NA anniversary month.
Re: SEGA Confirms Second Batch of 3D Classics for the West
Awesome!
Now release OutRun 2 for the Wii U eshop and I'll be set as far as the OutRun games go.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)
@ToxieDogg. Agreed with both.

Re: Feature: Five 'New Things' We Want in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
People, not all DLC is locked in-game content. You are on a Nintendo site, you really should know better.
Re: Review: Shantae And The Pirate's Curse (3DS eShop)
@SUBTERRANEANguy A woman designed Shantae. You're moving the goalposts for no reason.
Re: Review: Shantae And The Pirate's Curse (3DS eShop)
Will be getting it on Wii U for the digital offer. Been playing Shantae since the GBC, no reason to start complaining about things it's had since day one.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Land (3DS eShop / Game Boy)
Weird physics aside, this was a fun platformer. I hope we get this one sooner than later in NA.
