@MJInnocent how did that matter for previous NSMB titles? For how many years did the first NSMB title sell? The whole generation? How is NSMB2's success a "believe is or not" surprise?

Why "believe it or not"? New Super Mario Bros. 2 is an excellent game, and the money rush mode could have revolutionized the franchise with proper online leaderboards.

Good. Basically any other company would have done the exact same thing. Besides, Return of Samus is absolutely brilliant and is perfect the way it is, it doesn't need to be "remade" with GBA graphics stolen from other Nintendo games or shoehorned into the mould of Super Metroid with way too many items.

NST are talented developers for what they do for years now: Mario vs. Donkey Kong games. Of course it's not mentioned in the article at all, but they're all of very good quality, and some of them are spectacular, better than stuff like Chu Chu Rocket.
Also, why is working on mobile supposed to be something shameful, exactly? Weren't people eager for Nintendo to invest in that market?
Good luck to both those employees, I hope they'll find something they're happy with, and that they don't listen to the heinous bile some ignorant people are willing to throw at them.

Frankly, at this point it doesn't make much sense to release anything on Wii U.

A Shadow's Tale is a fantastic game, the perfect blend of ICO, FEZ and Prince of Persia. Highly recommended.

@Kirk I know Art perfectly well, thank you very much. Amusingly, I actually saw "Le Radeau de la Méduse" in person recently.

This game still looks terrible, and uses retro as an excuse to look terrible. Many games of that area looked much better (the animation in particular is atrocious here), just like most pixel art games of the 8-bit area looked much better than current "retro" games. Say, Aban Hawkins looks great, but most other "retro" games look like trash.

Retro is used to avoid hiring a competent graphic designer, especially here, and that's all there is to it. REZ or Virtua Fighter this isn't. Trash is trash is trash.

Retro style again used as an excuse to look terrible.

Frankly, at this point I'm fed up with seeing Shovel Knight bloody everywhere. The fact I didn't find the associated game all that much special doesn't help.

The gap between the very interesting project and video and the actual content, description and tone of the article is quite embarrassing.

@ImDiggerDan I'm glad your problem was settled, it was completely unfair. To be honest, I didn't get into your game because of taste, but it's good quality, especially for the price, and it's quite different from Boulder Dash.

Digger Dan wasn't very good IMO, but it's not quite Boulder Dash, he should have the right to sell his game. By this logic, SteamWorld Dig should be taken from shops too, it has as much links to Boulder Dash as Digger Dan.
Besides, First Star Software is really not making any good use of the Boulder Dash IP for years.

@Nintendian European language releases have nothing to do with belonging to the European Union whatsoever, and certainly not "Euro zone", since the UK never belonged to the Euro zone in the first place. European language releases existed before the European Union was even a thing.

@Snow-Dust because it was. Sonic Lost World is basically an alpha build sold as a release game. This game is the first and only one that made me feel tricked and robbed, it's just not finished on any level whatsoever, a complete disaster.

Pointless "article" with basically nothing to show. I see the same character twice, just one with a hood and one without. I wouldn't mind the player being able to choose Link's gender since you can choose his name anyway, and Nintendo seems to push female characters (tons of new female characters in Smash, tons of female character in Hyrule Warriors), but I'm beyond tired of all this rambling about Link's gender based on nothing. Nobody cares in the real world.
