Re: Nintendo Download: 7th April (Europe)

@MussakkuLaden: there is absolutely nothing "generic" or "forgettable" about Wario Land : the Shake Dimension, it's actually easily one of the most unique and memorable games of the last generation, both in terms of gameplay and visuals. What are you even talking about? There is no game like it.

Re: Review: Super Mario Kart (New 3DS / SNES)

Simbabbad

@JaxonH: apparently, you didn't grasp the concept of the virtual console. What you're asking for is a full remake with nothing in common with the original code, what's the point since the series is still going?

Re: Konami and Capcom Are Bringing Some SNES Classics to New 3DS

Simbabbad

@lemonjellydude No offence, but you have no idea how emulation work. It's not about handling "a simple 16-bit game", it's about emulating hardware with instantaneous response times with software: the new hardware emulating the simpler/older hardware therefore has to be VASTLY (and I DO mean "vastly") quicker than the original one.

Re: Review: Mega Man Legacy Collection (3DS)

Simbabbad

@AlienX The 3DS VC outputs the original ratio displayed on TVs back then and has perfect emulation. The collection, as numerous reports have established already, suffers from slowdowns and stutters that weren't in the original games.
The joke is on you because you try to shame Nintendo for the Virtual Console and praise this collection, when the Virtual Console is actually the best way to experience Mega Man on 3DS whereas this collection is the worst, by quite a margin.
The fact the digital edition of the collection is sold in the US at the same price as all the Virtual Console Mega Man games combined makes this collection a true insult to any gamer, and is a damn shame for Capcom.
As for playing pirated games, that's your decision.

Re: Review: Mega Man Legacy Collection (3DS)

Simbabbad

@AlienX Well, the joke's on you since it seems that collection has very serious issues that affect gameplay, and the best way to play Mega Man on 3DS is the Virtual Console.
Also, outputting games in their original 4:3 format is not "random".

Re: Mutant Mudds Super Challenge Has Been Submitted to Nintendo

Simbabbad

I don't understand Renegade Kids. I love Mutant Mudds, but then they released only remakes of 3D first person DS titles which I didn't care about, and now they release what is simply a harder version of Mutant Mudds, which I don't think is the right way to go for the franchise. Oh, and Xeodrifter was way too expensive for such a short and limited game. They cry about sales, but make all the wrong decisions.

Re: Bravely Second "Tomahawk" Costume Change Confirmed For The West

Simbabbad

@ThrowMeBarrel "Nobody got offended except Nintendo.": no, not at all. Nintendo is simply carefully avoiding media hysteria in the countries they release their games in, hence why those games release uncensored in Japan. This political correctness is typical of the US, it's there that the concept was born, before it contaminated parts of Europe through cultural dominance.

If you're upset at this decision, act to change your country's mentality. Nintendo would have been happy not caring about that stuff.

Re: BOXBOY! is Getting a Sequel

Simbabbad

I'm actually among the people who thought the first game had issues (it was way too slow to start), but the 6/10 Nintendo Life review was simply a disgrace. Embarrassing.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich History With More Remasters

Simbabbad

@Salnax: Monster Games are excellent developers, and I'd rather have them making new games than having their talent wasted on remasters. And why are you talking about a new Zelda or Xenoblade? Excite Truck and Excitebots were godly, I'd rather take the latter than a new Mario Kart any day, or any other new game they'd like to make. Next Level Games aren't making Zelda or Xenoblade either, and their games are all outstanding. I don't care about old stuff I beat already, I already own them.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich History With More Remasters

Simbabbad

The point that those remasters are done by outside studios is completely irrelevant: this is still a waste of resources when the most glaring issue on Nintendo consoles are the lack of new games. If those studios can do a good remaster under Nintendo supervision, why couldn't they make good new games under supervision? Look what Retro, Kuju and Next Level Games did.

Besides, the article completely misses that many games they want a remaster of are controlled by Wiimote + nunchuk, controllers that many Wii U owners don't have.

Re: Interview: Warren Spector on the State of Nintendo, His Future, and How Epic Mickey Annoyed Core Gamers

Simbabbad

What's amusing is the idea of making Mickey "epic" and dark aimed precisely at attracting core gamers, which by the way brought the game tons of hype. And core gamers didn't like it for the sole reason that it wasn't a good game: the controls were bad, the camera was horrendous, the level design was uninspired, the universe was limited and redundant (tons of copy and past characters), Mickey's redesign was bad, the paint/thinner concept was much more superficial than promised, the "choice" aspect was superficial, some areas had just plain catastrophic gameplay, the 2D sections were incredibly mediocre, the promises about visiting Disney history were not fulfilled at all...

Spector never wanted to admit any of this and would rather play victim any time an issue was brought up... and he made the sequel even worse, fixing none of the issues of the first game and adding new issues. That after he said they'll deliver Super Mario quality. This man is as arrogant, egocentric and blind as Molyneux.

What's funny is I defended Epic Mickey back then: it was pretty bad, but it tried interesting things. Spector's attitude made me turn around, I've never seen such denial.

Re: Rumour: A Class in Bravely Second is Supposedly Being Censored for the Western Release

Simbabbad

If people get angry about censorship in the West, people in the West have to get angry about their own society first. Those changes are done for a simple reason: companies don't want bad press. Remove the bad press and endless controversies in your countries, and the games will release as they are in free countries.
@edhe: cute, except none of those people whine. And that's why those outfits aren't censored.

Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X

Simbabbad

Nintendo is doing this because western societies are recently obsessed with a version of feminism that censors everything of this nature. They don't want bad press or trouble or any controversy. It has nothing to do with what they think is right or wrong or appropriate or not, they simply adapt their games to the countries they release them in. If you're mad, make your country's mentality evolve.
