Super Baby 2 And Gogeta [SS4] Are Joining Dragon Ball FighterZ

He is ok but I never liked GT Still a cool fighter nontheless. I was really not ready for the light fighter tho I think it still sucks we have three GT characters, should have just did the Fusion and left baby out of it.

I didn't like GT BUT I always DID like these character designs so it's kinda cool we get non-canon (GT) and canon mixed here. I'm happy with this. Surely we'll get more Super and Z characters later

Am I supposed to be impressed with footage of baby beating up Gohan. Geez talk about an easy target. I hope Akira Toriyama gets around to giving Gohan a new direction. I hated super doing nothing but nostalgia fanservice with him. Train with piccolo to re-kindle a past power up. Time for the grown man, to graduate from the Saiyaman costume.

GT gets a lot of slack, a lot of it rightfully so, but it has some very iconic characters and I always enjoyed playing those in the other DB games. I'm really looking forward to these.

@PawlSLax Plenty of weirdos from Super made it into the game, so I don't see why weirdos from GT don't deserve the same treatment.

I'm a little disappointed overall, but at least we got Kefla and Master Roshi. Maybe we can get Bulma in her mech suit, Chiaotzu, Mr. Satan, stand-alone Caulifla, and Top next time?

I wish my parents had named me Super Baby 2.

GT was never great but I will say this. Baby was wasted potential. Great backstory for the character but went down hill as his arc went on.

I'm not thrilled about Baby Vegeta. Gogeta SS4 is kinda cool though since I feel thats his first real showing of strength and what he was capable of in the series. The Tenkaichi Budokai games really sold him as an awesome character with super fast movements and strength that bested every other character in the series by a margin. So Im not all that upset he got in.

But if I'm being honest, I'd have liked to have seen Goten and Trunks in. Like... come on, why are they always left on the back burner? We've seen them fight and we've seen them use energy attacks. And there are already other kid characters in the game. And we already have fusions and their... fusee?'s in the game. Why not them as well?

I don't really play the game anyway so its not that big a deal to me. But it still rubs me the wrong way that we got VIDEL over them. Goten and Trunks were even flying long before her, for gods sake. And yet she gets to be a whole other character? Master Roshi too when barely anyone even plays him? Come on...

I expected Omega Shenron before Baby Vegeta though. So, Im starting to think we'll get another season of new characters to follow after Gogeta SS4 is released. So... here's hoping.

@PawlSLax because despite GTs flaws, Baby is still one of the best written villains of the series due to his understandable motive rather than just being another mindless brute with a god complex, plus his golden ape form was badass. SSJ4 Gogeta is a bit redundant since they added the blue Gogeta, but its nice to be able to play as a SSJ4 since its arguably the most popular idea to come out of GT, especially after how lackluster the new forms in super looked by comparison.

The majority of the cast is already DBZ including some non cannon stuff, all thats really left is the less memorable movie villains like Hirudegarn or other protagonists who didn't really fight much like Supreme Kai, let GT shine a bit since it still has some good ideas.

Wow, do people really dislike GT so much? I watched it back then and didn't think it was that terrible. It wasn't as good as Z was sure but still not terrible.

@Yosher its become a meme now to hate it unfairly. It was definitely flawed and a disappointing sequel to Z, but its not without its good moments and ideas. The Baby Saga is up there as one of the best sagas in all of DB for me personally, and SSJ4 is still one of the best looking power ups.

I think if Toriyama took the good ideas and canonized them like he did with Broly, it would change a lot of people's minds.

@marioguy20 Huh, I didn't even realize the GT events weren't even considered canon. I've barely watched anything DBZ related for years now ever since it stopped airing on television over here which was well over 10 years ago now. What IS the canon continuation to Z then?

Still like GT more than Super by a good margin. But I don't play the games so it doesn't really matter to me.

This is like if in Mario Kart, we had a bunch of different Marios in different costumes...

Since it's been years I really should re-watch GT someday to compare it with Super, which I felt had some really cool premises (such as introducing an alternate universe where Sayains are still around in large numbers), but really floundered on the execution, IMO.

@Yosher, Super is considered the canon sequel to Z as Toriyama was more involved with it than he was with GT.

So happy to see more GT representation. My biggest let down with GT Goku was how little of SS4 we were able to see. So seeing that Gogeta SS4 will be a thing is really exciting to have a character always in that form.

And Baby was always one of my favorite villians from the entire series so having him added is just an amazing cherry on top. I'll probably buy that Season Pass soon then.

@Yosher You could kind of think of GT as kind of an alternate timeline to Super, where they timeline splits after the end of Z. It's probably the easiest way to look at it. Essentially there are just two separate canons that developed a sequel story in a different way. I've always loved how the games are happy to crossover GT and Super, it's a lot of fun to have both sides interact.

GT and Super crossovers are one of the main reasons I enjoy the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promo anime. It's fun to watch the crazy what if scenarios.

@WillTheLion @RR529 Huh. For some reason I always thought 'Super' was like, a remake of Z or something, I don't know why I thought that. I guess I'll have to try to give Super a watch then sometime and see how that branch of the story plays out, thank you!

@Yosher, you may have thought that because the first two arcs of Super are reimaginings of the Battle of Gods (2013) & Resurrection F (2015) DBZ movies, and the series was followed up with a a Broly movie remake that worked him into the canon storyline. The last three main arcs of the TV series are completely new though.

Honestly the movie versions of those first two arcs are universally considered to be the better versions, so if you can, watch those then skip to the Universe 6 arc of the Super TV series.

EDIT: Though I also consider the Super manga's version of the Universe 6, Goku Black, & Tournament of Power arcs to be far superior to the anime versions. It is made by Toriyama's protogé (who is a big Dragon Ball fan who got his start by working on a fan fiction sequel to GT), and since it ran behind the anime he took the time to fix many issues with that version of the story. Plus, while the anime is on hiatus (finished?), the manga has continued on with the exclusive Planet Eater Moro arc, which is widely considered to be the best of the completely new Super content. Really the only issue with the manga is that it skipped over the Resurrection F arc (again, it was running behind the anime, so they made the decision to skip that so it could start the Universe 6 arc at around the same time as the anime) as well as the new Broly arc.

Well, if you're adding Super Baby Vegeta and SSjin 4 Gogeta then you might as well include Super 17 and Omega. I could also see Nova and Eis being good additions.

@Yosher GT was the unofficial sequel to Z made by Toei due to the popularity of the franchise. Its not based on any mangas made by Toriyama, the only involvement he had was some concept art.

Super is the canon prequel/sequel to Z, it takes place after the Majin Buu arc and before the last episode which was a 10 year time skip.

@PawlSLax I found GT Goku to be more like Goku from original Dragon Ball than GT Goku. Especially how his super attack is the one he killed King Piccolo with. As for Baby and Gogeta, at least it’s not just another version of Goku. Also I personally think GT wasn’t that bad and had better ideas than Super (just not that well executed). Past Androids DBZ was dull as dishwater and I include Cell in that. At least Baby had an actual motivation.

Super baby 2 is definitely a day one purchase for me. Ss4 gogeta I will need to see how he plays before I pick him up, but i ultimately will eventually. I could see baby being one of the most unique members of the fighterz roster. But honestly, I think we need at least one rep from SDBH. So many good characters they could add, I would even be okay with old characters with new forms, like God trunks, or golden cooler. These are good picks though, can't complain

There will be another Goku for Lythero to dunk once Gogeta[SS4 (since SS4 Gogeta is part Goku)comes out.

Wouldn’t they be better releasing Vados rather then all these Goku Pallet swaps?

Last time I played it they only had 2 female characters and she’s one of the most powerful characters in the whole Dragonball universe
