If you've forgotten Super Mario Run on iOS and Android devices is even a thing, Nintendo is currently running a special in-game promotion to remind you it is. To help advertise the release of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe on the Switch last week, the auto-runner on mobile is handing out a few free items.
If you log-in between now and 26th January, you'll score a free Toadette Statue to display in the castle grounds and 10 Rally Tickets. To claim these items, all you have to do is open the gift box and receive them before the promotion's end date.
Are you still playing Super Mario Run on your mobile device? Have you been playing NSMB. U Deluxe on the Switch? Tell us below.

solid game, and a good time waster. worth the 5 dollars i spent.
that being said i don't think this event will bring too many people back in lol
Haven't been on Super Mario Run in awhile, might just open the app to get the Toadette Statue and run a few rounds, then it's back to Fire Emblem Heroes which gets better/more updates compared to Super Mario Run.
This promotion would've been swell for Miitomo, but alas...
I saw the headline and thought "Oh, let me guess. Peachette is being added as a playable character?" I guess that would be mildly interesting, so it's a statue instead.
I bought it the first time it was on sales, played 30 minutes and got bored. I love Mario but I am allergic to mobile games.
I still have it on my phone in case I want to play it but that never happens.
@Rhaoulos Mario game doesn't work on mobile. if it was Mario RPG that would be different. And you don't want to be rushed playing a Mario game cos it's auto run and you have to keep jump button etc etc. no buy!
I'd love to play more of Super Mario Run, but the price to unlock the full version is just too high, IMO. If it was under £5 I'd be very tempted.
Was playing Odyssey yesterday, much better than playing a generic platformer I already have on Wii U.
Nintendo haven't given me a reason to return to Super Mario Run. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but once I got the special coins in all the levels, there was no reason to keep playing.
I don't get why they didn't release another set of levels to keep people coming back.
I went back and played the extra world they added. And I pop back in every now and then... because it is fun
And Nintendo think mobile games are profitable (outside of Fire Emblem, which works on mobile and is updated frequently).

I play Remix 10 regularly.
I enjoy it. I smartdevice game. I appreciate the one-time payment, & it's mine.
I don't mind games with microtransactions, provided they are not necessary to play, unlock everything in the game, or give other players an unfair advantage. Ex: I also have Pac-Man. To play tournaments, and purchase boards/maps, I have to spend in-game "currency" that I can purchase, if I want to speed up the process, or I can just play the game normally, & earn the currency by meeting certain in-game goals. Alternatively, I can earn a fews bits of currency by watching a 30 second ad, which I presume gives Bandai Namco ad revenue. So, I don't really need to purchase anything, except the 1-time only to make the game ad-free.
Nintendo can gain more from me, with dedicated handheld/console games, than mobile, which usually are not depth experiences. As for smartdevice games, I'd prefer they'd focus on 1-time purchase, and it's your's. I'm more inclined to purchase a mobile title, like that.
I play it once in a while, but I honestly forget about it at times. I should get back to it these days. Thanks for sharing this article.
@Alucard83 I 100% disagree. I think Super Mario Run very well captures the feeling of a "normal" Mario game, specially if you go for collecting all the colored coins in all the levels. If you only played the free 1st world (which are really simple and not as much fun), I really suggest trying the full game. Also, Toad Rally is super fun and it's a shame Nintendo didn't add it to NSMBU Deluxe as a perk for subscribing to the Nintendo Online service.
Whys the game now only for online it was offline before..
