Re: Cruis'n Blast Brings Classic Arcade Racing To Switch This September

Ricube

I really loved Cruis'n World on the N64! More than that I loved Beetle Adventure Racing... But Cruis'n was really great, in single player and especially in multiplayer. I actually like arcade racers more than simulators, they're just more fun and easy to pick up and play, especially with friends. I think I'm going to get this one!

Re: Zelda: BOTW Sequel Might Give Off Majora's Mask Vibes, But It Is "Its Own Game"

Ricube

I never really liked (as much as the rest of the game) the sky sections in other Zelda games, or the floating islands mechanics in other games (like you move from one location to the other and there's nothing in between). But I'm confident Nintendo will do a great job here. The majora's mask comparison is more about using the same engine and timeline, to me at least. And this one sure is in the BOTW world. I can't wait, anyway and think I will restart BOTW for the 5th time

Re: Balan Wonderworld's Final Boss Fight Could Potentially Trigger Epileptic Seizures

Ricube

I only played the demo. I never had any physical problems playing any game, but when playing the Demo of this, there was a strange effect in the background when moving the camera in the second part of the level. I can't really say what it is, but it gave me something like a motion sickness. And it also happened watching this video (not as strong, thought) something about the camera movement... I don't want to talk bad about a game I haven't played, but these sensations are very unpleasant, don't know if it's only me...

Re: Anniversary: Stardew Valley Is Now Five Years Old

Ricube

@Alienfreaks04 This is a game that you can play at your own pace. I usually play have short sessions twice or three times a week. The days in the game pass by very fast and there's a lot you can do, but you don't have to. The only thing that makes you "lose" time is that there are lots of mysteries you can, but don't have to, follow. The basics are pretty basic, if you ever played a similar game (like harvest moon, the one on SNES

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The February 2021 Nintendo Direct, Then?

Ricube

I didn't had any expectations, I also went to bed and watched the video this morning. I was still disappointed. I'm worried about a future (that is already present) full with Free to play or online multiplayer battle royal shooters. I really can't get into them. SS was ok and it is a very good game (even if it's one of the lesser Zelda games). And Nintendo keeps talking about original, new content, but 80% of announcements are ports. I see lots of people here asking themselves what is Nintendo doing? They have lots of money right now, internal development studios, only one console... And they make Mario Golf with Miis? Are Miis still a thing? I thought they where almost abandoned. And Miitopia? Like: "let's port one of the great 3DS games with updated graphics!" and this came out? Do they want us to create Miis, again?
The one thing I really hoped for came, NMH3, but I'm really not sure... The gameplay trailer for it wasn't really great... But I can't judge from that only.
Personal note: becoming older I would like to get a different gaming device, I always had only Nintendo (and a Dreamcast). So I was thinking about a gaming PC or a PS5... The only problem is they are nowhere to be found (pc=good graphics card), at the moment 😅.... What do you guys have (or would buy) to stand next to the Switch?

Re: Video: Here's Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Looking Stunning In 4K, 60FPS

Ricube

I'm not sure why, but to it looks exactly like the n64 version I played for hours as a kid when the game launched. So many fond memories... And before launch, dreaming of the game in motion when looking at grainy pictures in magazines, reading all news and reviews, then holding the box in my hands for the first time... It was called "the game of the century". And it still is... One of the very few games that didn't lose it's magic even with the original graphics

Re: Cloud Gaming Service Google Stadia Shuts Down Internal Development Studios

Ricube

@COVIDberry I'm not sure about what you mean. I wasn't trying to make anyone angry. I'm also no native english speaker so it happens that I don't use the right words. Maybe "blind hate" was not the right expression, i just meant that a lot of comments seemed to wish the service to shut down without a motivation and I wanted to say that for me and for the way I play games, a good streaming service is something I really appreciate.

Re: Cloud Gaming Service Google Stadia Shuts Down Internal Development Studios

Ricube

It's not like I want to play devil's advocate, but I am using Stadia and there are some reasons why I really like it and hope it's not going to shut down. The streaming quality is very good (I have a FTTH connection) and I can play some very demanding games (RDR2, Cyberpunk, Jedi Fallen Order) without owning a powerful PC or Console. The Stadia controller is also very comfortable (i really don't get why people complain about it).
So why all this hate with Google? I like that formula (buy a game and play it as long as the service exist) much better than a Monthly subscription. That is also what Nintendo is doing with more demanding games. I don't spend much time at home because of my work, and I'm not sure I have the time to play within a month and I only risk to get anxious because that specific game is going to be pulled off the service in a few days...
I also bought the games I have with a good discount.
So I don't get all the blind hate Google gets for doing something that works very well. I also hope it gets improved and there's really room for it, in my opinion.

Re: The Company Behind Control's Cloud Version Is Bringing More "Major" Titles To Switch

Ricube

I've been playing with Geforce now on my old surface pro for a few years now, and I find in amazing that I don't have to get a gaming rig to play. For me, as the switch came out, it was a dream that Nintendo would implement a similar service (I thought in collaboration with Nvidia as they already have the servers). Personally I'm really excited about these releases, as long as the games I really care about come out as physical (as many of you said). I was on the edge about getting Control from Epic Games, as there is a sale, but now I think I would prefer to play it on switch. The demo ran flawlessly with a 5Ghz wi-fi and a (theoretical) 1Gbps FTTH

Re: Video: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity World Premiere Gameplay Footage

Ricube

Looks very good! The main problem with musou games is that either you love or hate them. I feel like I'm in the middle. I like to play them for the story and some extra mission, but after that it becomes so repetitive and frustrting that the rewards you eventually get don't seem worth it. All the content becomes, to me, at least, wasted potential. I still have HW for the WiiU and didn't even finish the adventure mode. At some point completing the missions seemed more luck than strategy.
If you can get past the frustration (or are actually really good and have A LOT of time) the gameplay is still fun! I fear I'm going to buy this anyway, even if mainly for the story mode...

Re: More Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity News Is Coming Later This Month

Ricube

About the bad ending... If handled in the right way it's ok. I mean, I loved Star Wars Rogue One even if I knew how it was going to end. Even in Titanic you already knew the ship was going to sink. So I'm really interested in seeing the world of Hyrule 100 years before Botw, hope to see Hyrule town and some other places. My first thought seeing the trailer was that it's totally recycling Botw's assets And that might be a good thing. I only hope that maps in this game are handled better and are more open than in other warriors games. I can't really stand the map layout in those games... I mean the corridor-like connections and that you have to do big detours to reach the next objective

Re: Platinum Says It's Still Interested In Developing A Wonderful 101 Sequel

Ricube

I love all the games Platinum made, even if I'm one of those who are very very bad at them... I also love the W101. But that game could get lots of improvement. When playing I'm always half super excited and half super frustrated. Not the fighting parts, they are great (for the most part), but some platforming sections are really awful. The game gets so annoying at just making you see where a item is located in the perspective you look at it, or even where the platforms are. Or the one part where you guide the spaceship out of the ice caverns every mistake or being not fast enough is an instant death. So a sequel with a better gameplay would be much appreciated! They could also insert new unite moves. For the bigger... I really don't think it could benefit from so much more content, the first game is already full. Oh, and please (that is also in other games, including Astral Chain) even the length and difficulty of the missions and the sections inside them, they often seem really random between a checkpoint and the next.

Re: There Are Reportedly "No Plans" To Fix Deadly Premonition 2's Awful Frame Rate

Ricube

Reading this comment section make me feel like I'm in something surreal. It's fun even if it's confusing. I think this game and the marketing around it are a real piece of art, I'm not going to buy this one. The developers are really lazy, unprofessional and almost offending and so smart. They don't even care about what most potential buyers want from a videogame nowadays.

Re: Why Does The New Pokémon Snap Game On Nintendo Switch Look So Stunning?

Ricube

I'm not really into Pokémon games anymore. The last one I tried was moon and I got bored after about 10 or something more hours into the story... But Pokémon Snap, I played that a lot as a child! Such a simple but engaging game. I really hope they can get the feeling of the N64 game with some modern twists. Also, I would really like game freak to renew the main series, people are pretty upset with what they did, not because of the quality but because there is no real innovation. And I would love to restart playing Pokémon games. Nowadays it shouldn't be a big problem to rethink a franchise, especially as it's one of the better selling game series in the world. They could use two triple A games budgets. But it's not only about the money, it's about courage.

Re: Video: Here's Your First Look At The Shadow Man Remaster From Nightdive Studios

Ricube

I remember playing this, but I have the feeling that it became really confusing at some point and I don't think I actually reached the end... Or maybe I did... Anyway, I was very young and the whole story was probably a bit confusing for a teenager. Maybe I'll give it a try depending on reviews. From a technical point, this is a game that could have been remade, those 3D games looked better with washed out graphics than in 4K (that absolutely has no sense). So the Switch might be the way to go

Re: Feature: Perfect Dark Turns 20 - The Definitive Story Behind The N64 Hit That Outclassed James Bond

Ricube

I was 16 when this launched, got it on day 1 and I think that I played almost a full day. I only have fond memories of the N64 and this game has been a total highlight of that era. I really found it to be Perfect in every aspect as you can see the love that has been put into the game. I don't really know if anything like that could happen again today. I mean, this was really something new, at least for me as I only played on Nintendo consoles.

Re: The Wonderful 101: Remastered File Size And Other Details Revealed

Ricube

I'm really excited about replaying this. I still have it on the WiiU but decided to back it on kickstartel. My only doubt is that, from the trailer, they have not found a different solution than the PiP in those sections that required the second screen of the WiiU Gamepad. In portable or worse tabetop mode the small picture will become really small, and part of the main picture is covered from the small one... Still, I hope my copy arrives as soon as possible!

Re: Video: See The LEGO Mario Starter Course In Action

Ricube

I'm not really convinced by now, especially to who this set is addressed. I love Lego and I love Nintendo, both since I was a child, but I can't really see the appeal. It looks, to me, too limited as a toy and not really a set for collectors. The castle looks cool, though

Re: Video: This Incredible Fan-Made Trailer Reimagines Zelda As A Paper Mario Game

Ricube

This video is really lovely! I didn't think i would like it but after watching I love it! If it's true they are making a new paper mario, they should include something like a level where mario goes to Hyrule and works with Link to save Zelda! Maybe falling down in a forest, and meeting"a terrible fate". I guess the mood of the paper mario titles should work with these crossovers!

Re: Video: The Wonderful 101: Remastered Gets A Shiny New Trailer

Ricube

I really hope backers are going to get the game in April, as promised. Or have there been other news? In the trailer there is also one part that used the dual screen of the WiiU versione, but with a PiP, not shure I like that, but I guess it was the only way... Still really excited to play this on the go! (I mean on the go from one room to another, as I am confined at home because of some virus...)

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th March (Europe)

Ricube

I played all animal crossing games before, i think the GameCube one for about 10 hours total. I'm really glad lots of people are excited for this new game, but I really tired and could not get into the games. I'm waiting for something else, hoping in some announcements soon...
