There's been a lot of concerns raised over the past week about the performance of Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise. If you're still interested, but a bit worried about this aspect of the game, why not opt with the original outing until the sequel is patched.
Deadly Premonition Origins is currently on sale in the UK and US for half price. This drops it from £24.99 / $29.99 down to £12.49 / $14.99. This sale will end in both regions on 26th July.

I’ve half a mind to download this game now just to see what the hubub is all about... hmm...
Was holding out before, will grab it now and play it with the sequel as well.
Would only buy it for a laugh, so this is too expensive for me. Interested in that Outlast sale though...
@DoktorTotenKopf youll either love it or hate it. if you like david lynch style bizzare stories then you will like it. controls are awfull it looks like a ps2 game but there is something about it tho.
I bought it when it was on sale a month or so ago and I loved it.
The story was great, I loved that you could just wander off the story and the conversations he would have with you as you drove.
But the driving was AWFUL.
Also, the glitchiness of the NPCs in any other game would be unforgivable but I it made me howl with laughter in this for some reason. It did looks pretty crap, and combat was basic but it I actually really enjoyed it.

I have both games on my watch list. I read that they are bizzarre stories, but can someone elaborate on what kind of 'bizzarre'? I really dig visual novels with its good share of plot twist or mindbending revelations like the zero escape series. Is something like this?
@Wolf_Link There are definitely plot twists and strange revelations. Twin Peaks is used as a reference point because it is obviously the main inspiration - the murdered high-school student, the out-of-town detective, the sheriff station and the odd townsfolk with their own individual secrets are all straight out of Twin Peaks.
The combat is like a clunkier version of Resident Evil 4's over-the-shoulder action. This is nothing like a visual novel, but it does have an interesting storyline and intriguing characters. There is an open-world, and the combat only takes place in specific locations; you don't have to worry about combat when you're just exploring the map, for the most part.
I would recommend it if you can tolerate the tedious combat- I would recommend playing on easy mode for the most enjoyable, frustration-free experience.

I don't get why you mention only UK and US... The game is on sale in whole Europe... Or are you guys doing a Brexit? (note: just a joke, don't want to open a political debate)

In a weird way, prior to reading the article, having seen the poor performance on DP2 and DP1 being at half price, I decided to use some of my expiring coins and get it. Almost like some kind of premonition. Really enjoying it actually. Maybe in 2 or 3 more console generations DP2 will run adequately.
