Re: After Years Of Delays, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Finally Has A 'Final' Trailer

@Shiryu I've always played ED in Solo mode, where I was just trading and exploring in the solar system without any interaction with other human players. That worked great for me, and the cool thing is that you'd still get to influence (a bit) the shared world with the online players a well.

Regarding Squadron 42, that's really the only reason I backed Star Citizen in 2013. I just wanted another single player Wing Commander game at that point (the DOS games were a ton of fun to me back then), but I guess making one takes more than 13 years with a very greedy and inapt Roberts at the helm. Many folk call the project Scam Citizen for a reason at this point.

Looking forward to Victory Road!

@Shiryu Oh dear. I can't believe I actually spent $60 on Star Citizen in 2013, during its original Kickstarter. Currently that 'game' has already guzzled about 1 billion dollars in funding and it seems it's still nowhere near completion (to put it mildly). I think I might actually not even survive its release at this point. Thankfully Elite: Dangerous did it right instead imho, and I'm still absolutely still in love with that one.

But I seriously digress. I really like the look and fun feel of Victory Road, even though I am not a real-life footy fan as well. And I can actually play it during my lifetime. Please be good, game, and I'll definitely pick you up!

Re: Review: EA SPORTS FC 26 (Switch 2) - A Fantastic Football Game, Once You're Used To The Frame Rate

@sixrings I understand the frustration - but the game is what it is at this moment, unfortunately. I would also have assumed it to be able to reach that sweet spot of 60fps, seeing there are many quality S2 offerings that do this. Perhaps it is a lacklustre effort indeed.

However there should never be a need to call out other people's purchase decisions, is what I'm saying (which is what happened here). If one doesn't like the current offering, just don't purchase it, but don't blame others for enjoying a version they like playing anyways.

Re: Review: Story Of Seasons: Grand Bazaar - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - The Series' Best Remake Yet

@rawzeku that's going to be a hard one to answer I think. I love farming games (for example Mineral Town, Rune Factory 4 Special and more recently Guardians of Azuma) and have been hooked with them, but I'm just totally glued to Fantasy Life at the moment. There's just so many different things to do and enjoy (about 15 jobs / lives including Farming to try out and 'work' on).

If you are looking forward to put loads of time in a relaxed game, Fantasy Life might just be it for you. I have not yet played Grand Bazaar but it's definitely on my radar. At this time I'm enjoying a probably more varied experience in FL. Make sure to check some detailed reviews and experiences on YouTube and pick the right one - good luck.

@Pillowpants 'unfortunately' (but very fortunately) yes, I'm like 50+ of age. I loved and still love them, also when they somewhat later added simple graphics and music on Commodore 64 and Amiga and such.

If you are fond of classic adventures as well, may I recommend you check the free-to-see "GET LAMP" documentary in YouTube? I think you might love it.

@Doctor-Moo yeah, it really is a bit of a concern for me as well, playing this on the Switch. With a UI/UX like this, having a relatively big screen and good trackpad or a mouse seems best.

I'd love to have this on my Switch as well though. I'll probably end up getting it just because I love it and I'd enjoy it again on the go.

Thanks for that review NL!

Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time

@Paulo awesome, thanks for replying with those cool memories and suggestions with the G&W Gallery releases - I still have my original G&W Parachute LCD as well. Thankfully those LR44 batteries are still around!

Regarding Nintendo's LCD games, I got to play Oil Panic and Greenhouse that were owned by other kids, and I loved them as well.

Also played other LCD games as well - I vividly remember the 'budget' Mini Arcade games like Sea Ranger, Plane and Tank Battle, and Highway. Those were lots of fun.

I also still have my original Cresta Pac-Man LCD game, with the little red joystick on the right. As a kid I decorated the bottom of the thing with all kinds of tiny stickers - spelling 'Pac-Man' with letters and adding some fruit stickers for additional coolness.

I'm keeping my old LCD games ''running' 24/7, replacing the batteries each year or so, and my Pac-Man game still plays its relatively short daily alarm song like it always has. Good times.

@Paulo the dual-screen DK games were awesome, weren't they?

I had (and still have) the original 'orange' one myself. LCD handheld games were hot in my eighties. We played them together and temporarily swapped out our games with other kids to fully enjoy all of them.

Re: Review: Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2) - Absolutely Smashing, But Can It Beat Mario Odyssey?

Rentaro

@USWITCH64 Yeah, I'm not getting the hate on the new Kart either. I've been playing the game since launch and I'm still in love with it. To each their own I guess.

Regarding DKB, the nonsense about needing a totally fixed and totally stable 60fps on DKB is ridiculous, imho. If you need that kind of stuff to have an enjoyable experience, perhaps consider 'upgrading' from Nintendo, or play less-demanding games.
