Oh, a fan-service Fire Emblem game ! I'm not a fan of musô, but as long as it features Aira/Ira (playable of course), I'm ready to take it on n3DS ! (yeah, I'm pretty weak ...) But I'm hoping for a save located on the card (I realized yesterday that everything from my game was saved on the SD card after I broke my console)
edit: also, I wonder how it slipped of my mind but... OH MY GOD A THIRD NEW 3DS GAME CARD !!
@MarcelRguez Akaneia = first world established in the series?
"Inspired". I love how they try to both get older people who wanted to get the 2nd game in a proper way while still avoiding to scare post-Awekening 's generation of players away. Well, since I already played FE2, it's good to get a "new game" rather than a pure copy after all.
My biggest joy was when the artworks were shown: "oooh, no more Kosuki style!" (I like it - especially in "No more Heroes", "Speed Grapher" or "Bubuki Buranki" - but it was a strange mix in a medieval-like environment).
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy @DragonEleven @AlexSora89 It is not an update but a new file/CIA. And it has been placed on Nintendo servers those last days. (people are already conjecturing about the larger data size of 69 or 70megabytes, I think).
This is a great start game to make people of all kinds wait for later ones. On the other hand, I can't stop thinking: "where was the Bomberman multiplayer game for 3DS?"
@Shiryu 50euros ?! It sounds as expensive as the old cartridge + 4players adapter pack of the 16bits era.
@cheonsacz While I found the fifth game (on DS) pretty pricy - around 35-40€ for a used copy -, the IX was the easiest to find with the IV and was only 12€ (with box, manual, shipment fees). Priceminister has it as "under blister" for 19€.
Note: I'm living in France.
@StephenYap3 Thank Level-5. There is a big gap between what Dragon Quest was originally and a bit later, and what Level-5 made when they got their hands on the brand name (VIII, IX).
Good, a way to play in "gamepad mode" (or handheld in english) while charging is all I needed. Though the 2.5hours duration for pushing games is light.
What a nice surprise, lots of people will finally get what they were crying for. If the console features a wide enough palet of RPGs and other platforms games (in other words, non-multiplayer heavy ones), I'll be get this console... later, when its european price will not be 75euros above the japanese one anymore. (I can understand that the USA and us pay more, but why does Europa pay EVEN MORE than the US?)
@Basilgarrad Aha, we might as well go back to playing Pokémon in the GB era way. (at least, that will be my way, if I ever came to buy this thing)
I doubt the GBA models became pricy enough to make this interesting (even without taking in account the bizarre way of playing GBA games it comes with). Maybe it has the battery longevity's advantage? (though I remember playing around 20 hours of GBA games with a bit of sound on the Advance)
@DanteSolablood To go from 3DS to new3DS doesn't allow to play Advance games since only the ambassador program offered some.
And by using a hacked console, both models are able to run GBA games (encapsulated in a VC program).
@Mopati If you configure it with a single file from elsewhere, the download client will grab the e-shop ticket (what you normally receive through e-shop after a purchase) and install any game present in the freeshop games list (not sure how it is called) who is regularly updated with titles added on a certain website.
What is funny is that "freeshop" is not the first amateur download client. There is another one notably who does the exact same things without the nice interface.
The problem comes first from the persons who bought a game (legally) then "ripped" a certain code and uploaded it on the 3DS titles database website.
@ollietaro If you have access to freeshop, then you have access to the various save extractors/managers. Simply extract the saves on the first device, then copy the resulting files on the other console SD card and import again.
The main legality problem is still here however: the games you (re-)installed on the second 3DS are illegally downloaded and owned.
@BakaKnight So, maybe it is because it's the end of the year but the french support finally answered to my ticket (on the Pkmn website's customer service) yesterday. Of course, they only asked if my problem was still going on, to wich I said no (only because I resorted to restart the game from the beginning in order to generate a new synchro-ID).
@KTT Yes, sorry, I was reacting to "The game is poorly made and would lag with the old Online System. They had to move it to a separate menu (Festival Plaza), otherwise 3DS would cried." ^^"
Thank you, I noticed the fact you can work to get training items at the Battle Royale Stadium (what a uninteresting mode by the way) rather soon in the game.
Random possibilities of EV adjustement is what irks me. And I don't even know how to reproduce berry trees (can only pick the berries on the ground and that's it).
I didn't visit the Pelago yet, only a little house who host Pokémon only for reproduction purposes.
@BakaKnight Yes, it is. Still no answer to my sync code not going well with my game and console so I simply restarted. If I had done that earlier, I wouldn't be so much behind anyone online.
(random online challenge: had to face a bunch of weird ET-like/outlandish pkmn with my 5 level 24 raised to 50 thanks to the system. Lost aftet I KO'd three of the guy's "things" XD)
@KTT I see, it's a memory/power problem! Now that I know that, I find the embelishment even more useless.
Question: is there no way to properly manage effort points through the game now? Do I need to unlock a bunch of things and wait for the after-story?
I couldn't even join because right now I am still without a valid synchro-ID. I played normally on my game card, generated the code then added it to my preexistent account on the PGL the day after only to discover two days later that they unregistered my game because my ID wasn't "compatible with my console". After a week of investigation by the Nintendo customer service I was sent to ask to the Pkmn.fr customer service who is still stuck in early Gen days, and who after 2weeks has never answered.
Anyway, looks like I didn't miss anything.
About the global multiplayer presentation: it's really not practical, I miss the availability of the modes on the regular map (X/Alpha).
Not even talking about the one-shot feature that was the Dex-Nav (the only reason why I bought Alpha despite disliking the original 3rd gen pair)
@BakaKnight Oh, it's the same for other countries?
@Stitches Wait, isn't the game supposed to be released in supermarkets? o_O
Nice to get a french translation,a s long as they don't go for the stupid old dub names (like fusing Son in the name, or calling Mutenroshi/Kame-sennin "Tortue géniale").
@Clownshoes The New3DS not featuring the electricity cables is a thing Nintendo was already doing before (they simply only did it in Japan). It was because the previous console (here, the previous model of the same console precisely) had the same cables.
Reading this (still waiting for Nintendo/pkmn to solve my syncID problem before playing), the biggest regression is the lack of the Super-training's "magic bottle" who was able to erase all EVs in a single click. Is there no alternative? (berries are fine, when you are nitpicking points)
@Lloyd @Nagi_Nagisa I remember using an action replay to select my wild encounters against my favourite lv100 in Pokémon Red as soon as I noticed that after each time I was "force leveling" a new Pkmn in the League, the lv100s I was using were getting points based on what they fighted as soon as I stored them in the PC. (same things with IVs: always catched several specimen and later in Silver hatched several eggs before choosing one)
Back then, I had no name for it but I'm sure people were already doing it as soon as they figured out there was some "hidden thing" behind the stats differences among the same species.
On the other hand, it was nice that it didn't look like one of the main focus points (like nowadays).
Ruby/Sapphire went on my nerves because of the so many stat malus occasioned by natures. I hated this (still hate it, despite its benefices). So I shouldn't probably writing about this. ^^"
About the competitive or not argument:
Over 3-4 months of playing Alpha (my first Internet-based Pkmn), I never got to fight something else than those two configurations:
a bunch of all generations unique Pokémon called a team
a synergic party of fully maxed Pokémon (IVs, EVs, adequate items, etc)
I never encountered any in-between. After a while, I gave up any hope I had (like finally playing with more people than my brothers) the Internet could bring to my experience of a Pokémon game. (it's not even an efficient way to complete the Pokédex)
I tried this game a few hours (before my console died) and it is pretty fun and does a good job as something "Dragon Ball-esque". Very pleasant.
It also reminds me of Inazuma Eleven (that's a plus).
Something I'll have to check the import price before Christmas! With all the ways to play foreign games on 3DS, I'm sure there will be non-japanese games to find if you can share your works over the Internet. And if there is no way to share files so, maybe a save importer or something might help.
@penamiguel92 That might be done to differentiate times. Some Pkmn are supposed to stand a few years apart but some are more or less simulatenous events.
@rjejr How did I help you ? ^^"
Ahah, I watched the second compilation as a teen (13 or 14) so I kind of remember it fondly (except the ridiculous demon triple "missile"). I only tried the original OAVs recently and it made me regret my non-participation to the US manga funding. The story in itself was full of basic elements but pretty great (and they never try to make it appealing, I was even disgusted xD). Sadly, I can't find any (il)legal copy of II or any fansub of the 200x (re)animation of the original story.
The Monster Hunter Stories anime is available on Crunchyroll only for North American territories, I think. (at least, it blocked me when I used my french IP)
PS: sorry about that unnecessary talk about Urotsukidoji. ^^"
PPS: I never talked about this anime on this site. o_o
@rjejr Thank you very much, thanks to you, I learned that Nintendo intends to release Yôkai Watch 2 in Europe too.
@Ralizah But will it result in the unification of handheld and home console consumers?
(I know that I find the console suspect despite being a big handheld and Nintendo enhusiast)
I liked the exploitation of the dual screens in the DS era (and the touch too, despite some useless exagerations or afterthoughts), but the 3DS has been lacking in this department.
I have no Wii U but from what I gathered, it has never been really exploited either. And even Nintendo itself just dropped of the idea of dualscreens gameplay for a home console over the years.
About the Switch? The fact they are giving up annoys me a little, but it is mainly because I resigned myself to see this as the replacement of a new handheld. And since there was a regression in the overall use and interest of the d.s. (on both portable and home consoles), I doubt we lose anything.
@Titan_Clocker That would be great, because it means mean that they would need to sell adaptators to recharge the tablet without needing the dock. (I am quit ebothered by the need to play on the TV monitor when you want to recharge and play simultaneously)
What interested me: Portability, but we learned nothing about it. Game Cards. But it was revealed before. Still a nice confirmation. Then... maybe more hopes it fails and incite them to reveal a dormant rescue project (taking the form of a hancheld console)
@RatlankAA3 I can understand the excitement but I fail to see how this video could impact people to the point of pushing them to spend potentially 400€ or more on a machine we don't know what we'll be doing with. This in less than 4minutes. And yet, I see cases like this here.
@Bass_X0 @therealgamer But there was a GBA2 (or new GB iteration) plan in the basket in case of a failure. Sadly not true this time. That's why I'm quite annoyed by the probable lack of an adaptator to play portable NX while charging and the very likely minimal battery life. Not forgetting some worries about how easy the keys extensions might be to worn out (attachment/removal)
Where is the "new concept for gaming"? I don't see how the kit function of the console will impact games. For now, it doesn't look like it will bring anything new.
Anyway, if the battery makes it a good portable console, the button extensions don't worn out too fast and there is a way to play on the screen device while charging it up (like any regular handheld), I'll be interested (to look at what it offers 12-18months later)
The main thing this demo made me notice is the big "turn off" a 3D map Pokémon is for me.
I only played to Alpha among the "polygonal games" but it was using a traditional 2D view. It might look retrograde but thanks to this I never noticed how ugly every line is on the map. In Zun/Moon (probably XY too), you're so close to the objects than you can count the "créneaux" resulting from the aliasing on everything.
Also, it 's weird to have to actually search the right direction when moving in a town or some landscapes (it was easier to navigate in 2D)
I woud love to complain about the fact there will be nothing left to discover when people will start their game, but Nintendo is already doing a great job on this even without the help of code diggers.
PS: I didn't watch more than the original Hawai trailer and didn't read this article.
@gcunit One of the most known manga in the west is called DRAGON BALL in Japan too (with our letters). They even use katakana mainly to integrate foreign words.
Well... I took my time to read and to not skip the "animations" but it only lived for 75 to 90 minutes. I know the price isn't high, but it isn't cheap either for this duration and what it offers: far less than a PC visual novel game's chapter. The way it ends helps to make it insufferable too, reducing to zero everything "you" made. The only good point I see in my purchase is that I finally got to give money to some of the people who made Another Code and Hotel Dusk/Last Memory (bought them used, when I got my 2DS)
Is the use f "memories" in the subtitle of the game a way to link it to the several Another Code and Hotel Dusk games?
@ollietaro If you never need to restart because of a game over, the game offers you the "full end scene" if I remember it right.

@Titan_Clocker That would be great, because it means mean that they would need to sell adaptators to recharge the tablet without needing the dock. (I am quit ebothered by the need to play on the TV monitor when you want to recharge and play simultaneously)
Re: Nintendo Share Value Drops 6.5% Following Switch Reveal
It might be an over reaction. Still, I feel less alone now when I say that I don't see what this console offers more in terms of playing games.
Anyway, if the handheld device is equal to a portable console, I'm satisfied with this "traditional machine"
Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Nintendo Switch?
What interested me:
Portability, but we learned nothing about it.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th October (North America)
@Bass_X0 @therealgamer But there was a GBA2 (or new GB iteration) plan in the basket in case of a failure.
Sadly not true this time. That's why I'm quite annoyed by the probable lack of an adaptator to play portable NX while charging and the very likely minimal battery life. Not forgetting some worries about how easy the keys extensions might be to worn out (attachment/removal)
Re: Say Hello to the Nintendo Switch, a New Concept for Gaming
Where is the "new concept for gaming"? I don't see how the kit function of the console will impact games. For now, it doesn't look like it will bring anything new.
Anyway, if the battery makes it a good portable console, the button extensions don't worn out too fast and there is a way to play on the screen device while charging it up (like any regular handheld), I'll be interested (to look at what it offers 12-18months later)
Re: Reminder: Early Adopters of the Pokémon Sun and Moon Special Demo Version Have a Treat to Collect
Re: Data Miners Find More New Monsters In Pokémon Sun And Moon Demo
I woud love to complain about the fact there will be nothing left to discover when people will start their game, but Nintendo is already doing a great job on this even without the help of code diggers.
PS: I didn't watch more than the original Hawai trailer and didn't read this article.
Re: The Alliance Alive Is A "New Classic RPG" From The Studio Behind The Legend of Legacy
@gcunit One of the most known manga in the west is called DRAGON BALL in Japan too (with our letters). They even use katakana mainly to integrate foreign words.
Re: Review: Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories (3DS eShop)
