Ever since the original Japanese unveiling trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon, there have been a couple of charming promotional videos featuring a young Japanese boy and his experiences settling down in a new home, seemingly Hawaii (playing into the inspiration for the Alola region). Now there's another extended advert with the young Trainer and his new school buddies.
This time around the focus is on a battle between two groups over a den, with a focus on working up strategies and strengthening your 'mon. It's nicely done and has some positive messages in the end - check it out below.
It's a nice piece of marketing, and hopefully The Pokémon Company will localise it in good time to more directly target fans in the West; all it needs is some translated text and some new gameplay screens.
Update:
The localised version has now been posted.

Good spot.
Sometimes, I feel funny to see a Showdown like that. Anyway, great video. I think I should decide which version that I will choose.
Great ad, really enjoyed it
That actually got me hyped. I'm impressed!
If only stuff like this happened in real life.
aww, tiny boyfriends
I love the variety in customization in this game.
I've really enjoyed these trailers Actually teared up a little at the end lol
Fun ad. If only I could settle real life conflicts with Pokemon battles, lol
The Sun and Moon make sense now. It was sunny in Japan and it was night time in Hawaii
Neat ad! It's kind of sad that the Japanese kid had to move back (didn't realize the move was temporary), but he made plenty of friends along the way.
I also love how Solgaleo was nicknamed Taiyo.
Such an awesome trailer.
@Tyranexx From that, I supposed the name of the other legendary was an equivalent of "moon". Was it in "hawaian", how does it translate?
@Rei: That seems to be the case. I supposed the same. A quick Google search confirmed for me that "mahina" is indeed the Hawaiian word for "moon".
Pokémon Turf Wars
Kid goes back to Japan..... You go back to Kanto? One can dream.
If only all disputes could be resolved like this.
With the mention of nicknames for legendaries, probably gonna name them after an astronomer.
@Ed_Fairway named after an astronomer huh?...hmmm...
'Black Hole' then.
On topic:see Nintendo, you DO know how to market your products; so let's hope the same guys do the NSwitch advertisement campaign... fingers crossed.
@5t3v3n See I could go for 'Black Hole', though it would probably suck I'm sure I can think of a name that'll eclipse the rest.
@Ed_Fairway I dunno, 'Astro-nomer' as in something that eats/noms on stars/astro, I thought it was pretty good...
And yes it probably does suck... but lunala does look like a vampire after all... just saying
The "Train On" series of commercials for the Pokemon franchise have hit the right spot, every time. They combine fun with friendship, pathos, and aspiration very well. I don't think there has yet been one that hasn't brought a genuine tear to my eye.
I am very impressed with them.
That was a actually a really good Commercial! Well done.
@Ed_Fairway "Eclipse"? Did you do it on purpose?
The hawaiian kid has an awesome wi-fi connection. He's standing in the middle of nowhere looking at the sky and yet he has no trouble trading pokemon.
@Rei Caught me red handed
