Re: Video: Uh Oh, Elden Ring On Switch 2 Has Issues In Handheld Mode

RareAir23

I wanted to make sure I read through every single comment so far just to make sure none of you asked this nor answered it. None of you did. So I will: of the Demo Bandai Namco/From Software was showing at GamesCon, how far along was the build they were letting everyone play? How early along or late along from the start of development is that build? If this is an early build of the game (say just a few weeks old from the time they started doing development for it), then the performance is likely going to be what animated movie critic Jay Sherman and I call "fantacrap" in 1 way or another. Fantacrap = a mixture of fantasy and crap. Being that if it is an early build? I wouldn't give up hope so fast everyone. If it is a late build of game (say something they were working on 3-4 weeks ago)? Then you may panic. Until we find out it is a later build of the game (somebody will likely reveal that sooner than later the way the Internet is these days)? I'd suggest following the 1st rule of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Don't panic. Thanks.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

RareAir23

So I gave this showing a 6. I felt it didn't give me everything I anticipated (wanted to see dates for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and Final Fantasy ViI Remake + Intergrade and Hades II and didn't give any of that) but what I did get me was exciting. Firstly, Madden NFL 26. I loved the footage I saw. Seems EA Sports is doing for Madden on Switch 2 what 2K already did for WWE 2K25. Looks great and hope it runs as good as it looks. Also the new Octopath Traveler 0 game looks really cool. Shinobi:Art of Vengeance was another good one. Also a big surprise: Romancing SaGa 2 Switch 2 Edition gets...an upgrade pack for Switch 2 from Switch 1!? Didn't Square Enix say they weren't doing this with any game ever? I happily picked that up. Props to Square Enix for having an open mind and heart about ..1 game. I have the Switch 1 version FYI. The more the hours tick away from what I saw? The more I saw what Nintendo was trying to do. This event was only 25 minutes long so I set my expectations a little low while also understanding that Nintendo used this event to focus on games they didn't want to place into a general Direct later in the year (hopefully September as some are speculating) so if this Direct was a movie it was a movie a little tipsy on being full of filler and exposition. I'm hoping from this Nintendo will give us a Dynamite September Direct that really hits it out of the park. Overall this Direct was for a specific purpose of storytelling (mich like the Star Wars prequel trilogy) and it did the job it was meant to....at least to me.

Re: Talking Point: Everyone Else Is Busy Revealing Switch 2 - What Gives, Nintendo?

RareAir23

So I was reading this article earlier today but wanted to get home before I commented here. So the talking point of this article saying basically, "Just reveal the console already. Too much has leaked." On the one hand, Nintendo Life is not wrong. On the other hand, to truly launch any new console? Certain aspects of it need to be close to or completely ready before a reveal. So what do we know for certain needs to happen? 1. Nintendo said we'll have 10,000,000 units ready for worldwide preorders and launch. Are 10,000,000 units ready to go or will be by Nintendo's prospective launch day? They may still be behind that number by a good measure especially if by popular opinion they only started mass production late August/early September 2024. 2. The games for the console. Is the opening day lineup ready? Do they have a lot of exciting things to share? Is every game to be launched on Day 1 dated and ready or close to it? Do we have an outlook on titles that will be out for the first year both exclusive to Switch 2 or cross-platform? 3. Accessories from Nintendo and others. Are they all ready for opening day? If these 3 things aren't in place or unknown? They can wait on a reveal as I see it. So many people may be ready. Other companies may be getting very close to ready if not ready. Is Nintendo? We don't know and they certainly won't tell us. We're just John Q. or Jane Q Public. To take a phrase out of id Software's playbook (when they were run by John Carmack and Todd Hollenshead): Nintendo will reveal, showcase and launch the Switch 2 when it's done and it's time.

Re: Video: THQ Nordic Cooks Up A New Gameplay Trailer For AEW: Fight Forever

RareAir23

@delt75 Of what I know so far CM Punk is for certain not going to be a part of the cover art for the game. As for whether he's been pulled from the game entirely? That's still unknown. Any wrestling news site or YouTube channel that covers pro wrestling claiming they "know right now" (as in as I'm typing this) Punk is out of the game is only taking guesses by proxy of assumption and speculation right now.

The couple of things going for Punk staying in the game for the moment is he is still an AEW roster member right now and AEW even at the Full Gear PPV was still selling his merchandise. 2 thing not going for Punk staying in the game is 1. The game still has no concrete release date and 2. Kenny Omega is (and has been the whole time) overseeing the creation of Fight Forever with Aubrey Edwards (amongst others) and Omega was 1 of the people Punk attacked in the All Out brawl. So Punk being pulled from the game could happen at any time. Question is will it happen?

Re: Uh-Oh, Splatoon 3 Appears To Have Leaked Online Ahead Of Its Release

RareAir23

So let me guess (as the scenario I'm about to describe as to how this happened in the past might yet be the case again)? (clears throat...) Okay. So some mom and pop video game stores across the world got their copies early. Saw some of their favorite customers were preorder customers for the game. They gave those favorite customers their copies very early and then to finish it in the words of sports talk radio host Jim Rome, "Oh no...here we go again!". Might've gotten it right here, might've gotten it wrong but I have a hunch what and how I described it here? Happened again. Out!

Re: Nintendo Releases Another Update For Switch (Version 14.1.2), Here Are The Details

RareAir23

@ROBLOGNICK Yes indeed. Blocking Outlook.com and iCloud.com? One is a free email service and the other is a Apple ID domain which can double as it's own email address. Can't understand those two much like you. While more context about that is always welcome maybe (and maybe is the watchword here) they are starting some of sort ban on email accounts that aren't tied to an ISP domain. Some internet forums in the past and now are famous for that as it minimizes the riff-raff they deal with on an everyday basis. Out!

Re: Where To Pre-Order Bayonetta 3 On Switch

RareAir23

So anybody wondering about the Trinity Masquerade Edition in the US? GameStop in the US was officially doing preorders for it in-store only. There was no online SKU at least yesterday when preorders first went up. I got my Trinity Masquerade Edition just yesterday at my local GameStop. As for the answer to the question, "How the Hell did GameStop get their hands on the Trinity Masquerade Edition and why did they only do preorders for it in-store only?" I can't say for certain but I think the reason for in-store preorders at only at first was to keep scalpers off of the sales. Out!

Re: Here's A Look At Follower Quests In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

RareAir23

@russell-marlow If you mean, take the base game and expansion and load them both onto the same game card together so you don't have to download anything? I like this idea and I will support it. The thing is, if Capcom goes about doing that it means that they would likely kill the retail SKU for just the original game alone and just leave the base game/expansion SKU there for $60. I'm not sure how enthusiastic Capcom would be about doing that. Just my thought and until next time I am out!

Re: Min Min Smash amiibo Arriving April 29th, Steve & Alex Minecraft amiibo Delayed

RareAir23

It's good to see dates for one of the upcoming Smash Amiibo. The one(s) I'm waiting on are the Pyra/Mythra Amiibo for Smash. Based on how the larger figurine statues from Good Smile sold (and continue to sell) they're probably going to sell out the quickest of any of the upcoming Amiibo due to the popularity of the Good Smile made figures. So I'll need to be quick to get those ordered. Out!

Re: Step Up To The Plate, MLB The Show 22 Is Coming To Switch

RareAir23

I am quite surprised by this announcement. In pro wrestling there's something in that industry known as "The Forbidden Door". To me, MLB The Show was a franchise that for World of Nintendo fans was a "Forbidden Door game". Well...not anymore though. Also, as a Los Angeles Dodger fan, this release is bittersweet. Namely, because Cody Bellinger will be on the roster and based on how he played last year? He's going to play really lousy in the game this year. Out!

Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Scores March Release Date, New Trailer Appears

RareAir23

While not a really big Kirby fan I can definitely see the reasons from this trailer on why so many people are excited. For those who are surprised/shocked that Kirby finally has a gun? Actually, he had a gun before this game. In Super Smash Bros Ultimate, if you got the Joker/Persona DLC and you let Kirby swallow Joker and take his powers? Kirby arms himself with a gun. This is to say that yes, that has happened before so the fact Kirby has a gun in the new game? Not exactly new here. Out!

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Wants Cross-Platform User Bans

RareAir23

Wanted to read through this fully before I added my thoughts. As someone who's worked in IT for over 20 years now (and has more than touched the network and security parts of the job) 1 of the biggest potential obstacles to Phil's idea is if you do cross-platforn blocks what if the same user has a different gaming callsign on each network (possibly due to the same callsign not being available at the time of account creation on each said platform)? Sure, you could block by email address but is that feature of blocking by email address instead available on XBOX Live or PSN or NSO (Nintendo Switch Online) alone right now? To that it's something that adds more labor overhead to the problem's resolution and possibly grounds from users saying to that, "You simply cannot do that (that meaning blocking an email address on these platforms).". It really can turn into a slippery slope if one doesn't do something like this carefully. Out!

Re: Sonic Frontiers Was Originally Planned For A 2021 Release, But Sega Wanted To "Brush Up The Quality"

RareAir23

Now this...is something I actually liked to see regarding the development of this game. Holiday 2022 is a great time for this game to release and the fact that they are from the time they showed it off at TGA 2021 giving them an entire year for polish, bug-crunching and glitch-breaking? That to me is only a good thing. SEGA wants to do right by their mascot so I can wait until the holiday season to see release of this game. Well played SEGA and Sonic Team. That's what's on my mind and until next time I am out!

Re: Sonic Team Shares Some Stunning Artwork To Celebrate The New Year

RareAir23

I am excited for this game but...that excitement is also tempered with uneasiness and caution. Remember: Sonic Team has always been excellent at 2D Sonic but has made some really, really lousy 3D Sonic over the years. Now, we're expecting that Sonic Frontiers which is a 3D Open World Sonic game by what we know so far to be critically AND fan acclaimed? I just don't think it has a grand chance of meeting the standard I set with my question. For now though, I'll await to know more about the game. Let's see where this game is at when E3 2022 comes around. Out!

Charles Martinet: But he's trying...
Spike: Well, he's no Garfield
Bill Murray (because Lorenzo Music is no longer with us): But he's trying man...

Re: Nintendo Switch Transfer - How To Transfer All Saves, Games, Profiles, And User Data To Another Switch (OLED, Lite, Regular)

RareAir23

1 last update to my adventure in the comments on this one. Surprisingly, my strategy for moving an MicroSD from an older Switch to a new one...didn't work. The Switch OLED I have just wouldn't accept the data from my backup on my older Switch V2. This to a degree coming from someone who's worked in IT Tech Support for now 20+ years like I have I find very disappointing and kind of defeats 1 of the key purposes of backing up your Switch's MicroSD card to your PC: taking the data from an older Switch to a newer one and then just having it work when you insert the Micro SD. Nintendo likely has some kind of absurd security policy in place on hardware to not allow this and I find the policy as absurd as actually enforcing it and I'll leave my thoughts at that. Out!

Re: Nintendo Switch Transfer - How To Transfer All Saves, Games, Profiles, And User Data To Another Switch (OLED, Lite, Regular)

RareAir23

@Dan420 The last reason I think the method I posted will work is because once the MicroSD card is deleted/formatted on the new Switch OLED that primes the card for the new system. Then, you can restore your backup to the MicroSD card after removing it again from the new system after deletion/formatting and again, as long as you power down the Switch completely, then insert the restored card, then power it back on it should then work. Out!

Re: Nintendo Switch Transfer - How To Transfer All Saves, Games, Profiles, And User Data To Another Switch (OLED, Lite, Regular)

RareAir23

@Dan420. A good question. My guide is based off of what I've done with Switch MicroSD cards when I've upgraded from a smaller one to a bigger one. The 2 things that I believe make my method work are 1. The way you backup the data which taking the folder marked "Nintendo" and just copying that directly to the storage drive without copying the folder contents after opening the Nintendo folder. In fact, Nintendo themselves recommend when you create a backup of a Switch MicroSD card that exact method. 2. When you switch MicroSD cards (or install a new one unless you are installing a card with no data for the first time) ALWAYS power down the system completely before removing/inserting a new MicroSD card. If you attempt to "hot swap" the card by inserting it even in Stand By Mode the Switch will always force the user to format the card. If you power cycle it while inserting the MicroSD card (power down, insert card, power back up) you'll have greater success of allowing the Switch to accept the card for what it is and what's on it and it'll just work. Thanks and until next time I am out!

Re: Nintendo Switch Transfer - How To Transfer All Saves, Games, Profiles, And User Data To Another Switch (OLED, Lite, Regular)

RareAir23

Wanted to add something to Nintendo Life's answer in the FAQ about SD cards and your data on said card when you pop it into your new Switch OLED. Now especially those with an SD card that is 512GB or larger you're going to want to pay attention to my instructions here as it might save you some time. What I'm about to propose as a different solution to getting your games data on your SD card into your Switch OLED. Also, this procedure will need a PC with at least a 1TB size storage drive with about 200GB free minimum (this number though depends on what you loaded on your SD card and how much) and a micro SD card reader. The procedure should take if all goes right about 4-5 hours if you have a reasonably powerful PC. Better than 12-24 hours though downloading everything from the eShop 1 download by 1. Here's what you do:

Step 1: Power down your old Switch and remove the SD card.

Step 2: Insert your MicroSD card into your SD card reader. Some will have their SD card natively on their machine as a drive. Others will have it as a USB device. If it is a USB device insert the card into the USB device and then load that into your system.

Step 3: Make a new folder off of the route of your storage drive. Call it say "Nintendo Switch Backup"

Step 4: Go to the Micro SD card on your reader and copy the "Nintendo" folder. Do NOT open the folder and copy the contents. Just the "Nintendo" folder alone will do. Paste that to your Nintendo Switch Backup folder.

Step 5: Once the backup finishes, safely remove SD card reader (or card). Insert it into your new Nintendo Switch OLED. It will delete the data and reformat the card. That's okay. That's why you made the backup in steps 1-4.

Step 6: Power down the Switch OLED completely. Then remove the SD card and load it back into your SD card reader. Keep the Switch OLED turned off for now.

Step 7: Go to your Nintendo Switch Backup folder. Highlight the "Nintendo" folder, right-click and select Copy. Go to your SD card in Windows File Explorer (which should now be completely devoid of data), right-click and select Paste. Let your backup load back onto the card.

Step 8: Once the restore finishes, safely remove the SD card and/or reader and load the SD card back into your Switch OLED. Power it on. If all went well your data is now safely and effectively on the card again.

Hope this helps some people. Thanks and until next time I am out!

Re: Platinum Really Wants To Show You Bayonetta 3, But It Can't

RareAir23

I've been on the same thought about Bayonetta 3 since Metroid Prime 4 was rebooted to Retro Studios: Metroid Prime 4, Metroid Prime Trilogy HD and Bayonetta 3 WILL come out in the same calendar year together. As soon as Metroid Prime 4 has a launch year decided on, they will announce all 3 games in the same event (likely Nintendo Direct or Game Awards presentation). Bayonetta 3 will be a lot like Super Mario Odyssey. Remember, remember Mario Odyssey went gold 8 months before the game released and Nintendo held onto that game for that long. Same thing will happen with Bayonetta 3. It will go gold long before they announce it and Nintendo will just hold onto that until they're ready. Why I feel this way about all 3 games mentioned? It's a strange dichotomy I have about these games that would take a while to explain. Out!

Re: The Fan-Made 2D Metroid Prime Game Has Been Forced To Shut Down

RareAir23

Well, this doesn't surprise me that the project for the 2D Metroid Prime was ceased and desisted. While the company who asked for it C&Ded wasn't named (but its pretty obvious who it was) it also is another sign of confirmation that...Metroid Prime Trilogy HD exists. Like Imran Khan and now Jeff Grubb have admitted it in the past. It exists, it is done, it is waiting...for a release year for Metroid Prime 4. I'm still banking on Prime Trilogy HD and Prime 4 will release in the same calendar year. Question is...which year down the road? Out!

Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On The Switch OLED As Pre-Orders Go Live In The US

RareAir23

So reading through all of these comments so far (and I was able to get a Switch OLED via my local GameStop on an in-store preorder) 2 things come to my mind here: 1. It isn't just Nintendo that is "loving" the scalpers. Sony, Microsoft, nVIDIA, AMD? They all have had all their latest tech products scalped just as hard and just as deeply as Nintendo so those other 4 companies mentioned must "love" it too. But seriously...the fact that scalpers cause product to sell out much faster than if they weren't there? It only looks good on quarterly financial reports. Let's be realistic there. Also, about the Steam Deck being or not being scalped? It will. Trust me. It will...hard. The companies behind the retail bots already have their bots primed for whatever Valve is going to place against them and they are as ready as Reggie right now. Friday morning is going to be another spectacle of scalping again. Out!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch OLED Model Looks Lovely, But May Also Disappoint

RareAir23

So I'm not disappointed by the announcement really. I think it could've done more but for what it did it made a good few necessary improvements on the Switch V2. I'm excited about the OLED screen but almost as much, the wired Ethernet jack on the dock. However; something taints that a little for me. Namely, is the Ethernet jack a Gigabit Ethernet rated jack or a 10/100 Base T Ethernet jack? Nintendo hasn't revealed that yet. If it's 10/100 Base T then it's going to be very far behind as most home networks that use wired Ethernet use Gigabit over 10/100 Base T now and 10/100 Base T compared to Gigabit isn't worth writing home about these days. I'll be interested to find out more about the Ethernet jack on the dock in the future if Nintendo reveals that the answer to that key question. Out!

Re: Metroid Prime Trilogy Switch Port? Unlikely, Says Former Retro Studios Dev

RareAir23

@Slowdive You mean about the potential of they decided to give Metroid Prime Trilogy HD the HALO: The Master Chief Collection remaster treatment? I hope so too. When I said I "know" that's what they're up to I look at the use of the word "know" like this: what else would cause Nintendo to take a finished Prime Trilogy and restart it (if @Than_Kyou is right) from scratch? For Nintendo to do something like that they have to be really motivated to make that call. Something in my heart tells me they saw HALO: The Master Chief Collection, looked at their finished Prime Trilogy in 2018 and decided, "We can do better than this!". Out!

Re: Metroid Prime Trilogy Switch Port? Unlikely, Says Former Retro Studios Dev

RareAir23

@Slowdive While I like your comment about Imran Khan you might want to recheck his Twitter feed from January 25th, 2019 when he last spoke about the Trilogy and do a deeper dive into what was said. It may NOT actually be done right now if they are actually working on it. Twitter user @Than_Kou (Mike LeMieux) back then said, "Also restarted from scratch." (this referring to the Trilogy). Meaning the Trilogy if Mike is right went back to formula as well as Prime 4 and if they did that with it I know why. They saw what Microsoft, Bungie and 343 did with HALO: The Master Chief Collection and said, "HEY! Let's do the same thing for Prime Trilogy if we're going to release it again!" We'll see though. Out!

Re: New 4K Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

RareAir23

@SalvorHardin Unknown? The journalist's rumor states at the end of it "the reason it wasn't revealed is unknown"? Obviously this journalist (not you but the person who wrote the rumor to begin with) didn't do their homework. If we go by everything Imran said on Twitter at the time of The 2018 Game Awards over the subject his information actually says a lot.

See, just before The 2018 Game Awards Bandai Namco and Nintendo had a huge meeting where Bandai Namco would show Nintendo how their Metroid Prime 4 build was coming along. If the meeting went well and the game would be able to have been released in 2019 then Nintendo was going to announce Metroid Prime Trilogy HD at the 2018 Game Awards and then reveal Metroid Prime 4 in 2019 releasing both games in 2019.

But alas, history instead gave us a cruel fate. Bandai Namco's Metroid Prime 4 build was very subpar so Nintendo scrapped Bandai Namco's build and gave the project to Retro Studios who restarted development in January 2019. This also caused Nintendo to hold off on Prime Trilogy's release as well.

To finish, I think Nintendo's plan then was to always release Metroid Prime Trilogy and Metroid Prime 4 in the same calendar year. I think that still is their plan. But of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong! Out!

Re: Where To Pre-Order The Monster Hunter Rise Nintendo Switch Console And Pro Controller

RareAir23

Wanted to give you all the heads-up on United States status on these products. The Monster Hunter Rise Pro Controller right now, on Thursday February 18th at 2:01pm Pacific time has sold out completely at Best Buy, has very limited stock left at GameStop (use the website, not the mobile app for your best chance at one) and Amazon hasn't posted stock yet or they sold out before they could even get a sales page up. The Monster Hunter Rise Switch Console? No one has a sales page up for it yet or again...it sold out before they could even get a sales page up everywhere. I think I got an order in for the Pro Controller at GameStop through their website. I'll know in 48-72 hours as if my order isn't canceled by then that means I got it. There's your heads-up. Out!

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Will Feature amiibo Support, File Size Revealed

RareAir23

Okay, of what was revealed in this story for Skyward Sword the thing that sticks out to me the most is...Pro Controller support. Reason this is so important? It's because if the Pro Controller is supported that means you may be able to played in Docked mode with a Pro Controller instead of the 2 Joy Cons (1 in each hand) controlling sword and shield. That may be a big deal if true for sure. Out!

Re: Charles Martinet Would Love To Voice Mario In Upcoming Illumination Movie

RareAir23

@reporterdavid Okay. So most of Charles' case is already made for him as there is video recorded of him carrying on full conversations as Mario. Now we go to the next question: Does Nintendo and Illumination know that he can do this? All Charles then really has to do to get the role is collect all this video of him carrying on conversations as Mario, share it with Nintendo and Illumination and say after they view it, "I'm your guy!" After, then he's a lock to me. They don't cast him after that? It would be a miscarriage of justice. Out!

Re: Charles Martinet Would Love To Voice Mario In Upcoming Illumination Movie

RareAir23

I think all Charles has to prove to retain the voice of Mario for Illumination Pictures' film is can he carry on a full conversation using the Mario voice and can he make that sound really good? A lot of what we've gotten out of Charles for Mario in the video games are one liners and reactionary vocal material. So again, if he can prove he can carry on a full conversation in the Mario voice and make it sound really good, he's a lock for the role. Out!

Re: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Leaked Online A Week Before Launch

RareAir23

@Highlar You ask, "On another note, how in the world does this KEEP happening at Nintendo?" I'll answer it starting like former MLB player Steve Garvey: I think reputation. I think quality of games made. I think brand name. Let's face it, hackers (or non hackers who decide to leak by convincing retailers to break street date) are always more interested in all of Nintendo's first party franchises than all of Microsoft's or Sony's in the Internet age. They know leaking a Nintendo 1st party game will provide themselves more exposure for and to their behavior than a Microsoft or Sony 1st party game. That and for breaking street date situations you got a small group of retailers worldwide who are very easy to convince to do it. Out!

Re: Nintendo Will Discuss Upcoming Switch Games "At The Appropriate Time"

RareAir23

@mariomaster96 I don't think it is that Nintendo doesn't like Bravely Default II. I think it is a good game from a good franchise but it has an audience that is a bit smaller than Mario and Monster Hunter and it doesn't produce the large sales numbers Mario and Monster Hunter does. Nintendo knows this so they chose in their statement not to acknowledge Bravely Default II but they know like we do it's coming and its audience is going to be excited for it. Out!

Re: Sony's MLB The Show Is No Longer A PlayStation Exclusive, But Where's The Switch Version?

RareAir23

I'm seeing quite a few commentaries on MLB: The Show 21 coming to Nintendo Switch. If I'm reading this story appropriately it in no way confirms a Switch port of MLB: The Show 21 for Nintendo Switch. It was completely absent from the trailer released today. Maybe there is hope they will announce this on a future Nintendo Direct or Direct Mini Partner Showcase or even a separate trailer from Nintendo's YouTube channel but if it is truly confirmed that this isn't coming to Switch then it doesn't surprise me at all. I always felt the game would be a visual/graphical showcase that the Switch just couldn't run. We'll see though. As Jack Nicholson playing Garrett Breedlove in Terms of Endearment and The Evening Star might say, "There are still some shopping days left before Christmas." Out!

Re: Fans Should 'Forget About Bayonetta 3' For Now, Says Platinum's Hideki Kamiya

RareAir23

Kamiya's latest take here is intriguing. It falls into a bold prediction I've had in my mind for the past 2-2.5 years. That prediction is Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 will release on Switch in the same release year in the future. Possibly Metroid Prime Trilogy HD will also come out in the same release year as Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 as well (as I've always believed since the 2018 Game Awards that Nintendo's plan was to always release Prime Trilogy and Prime 4 in the same calendar year [Trilogy early 1st half of the year, 4 holiday season]).

However; Nintendo could release Prime Trilogy HD this year (if Imran Khan at Game Informer from his Twitter feed circa late 2018 has been right this entire time and the Trilogy is finished and ready for release at any given moment) to celebrate Metroid's 35th Anniversary. However; depending on how development is going with Bayonetta 3 it could be a 2nd half of 2021 release this year too. Too soon to tell. The soonest I think we'll know that though is after April 1st of this year. Exciting times I have to admit. Let's see what Nintendo and Platinum do. Out!

Re: Sega's Splitting Its Amusement And Video Game Divisions, Triggering Rumours That An Acquisition Is Afoot

RareAir23

@Grumblevolcano While there is that possibility if we use the acquisition of Bethesda to Microsoft as a historical reference, Microsoft will likely allow any previous platform decisions and previous arrangement to make games for other platforms example being what SEGA made with Nintendo for the 2 games you mention to hold steady course and be unaffected. However; a potential acquisition of Sega to Microsoft could mean Bayonetta 3 and Shin Megami Tensai V would then become multi-platform titles coming to Switch and the XBox Series of consoles. Too soon to tell though. No one has announced an acquisition of SEGA just yet. Just food for thought here and until next time I am out!

Re: Super Nintendo World Website Now Live, Ticket Pricing And Ride Details Confirmed

RareAir23

So I just wanted to point out and leave this out here concerning the Mario Kart ride in Super Nintendo World. Do you all remember when Nintendo sued Mari Mobility in Japan (and won) because they were doing their own Mario Kart like ride experience in Tokyo without permission? I think the Mario Kart ride which will launch with this new theme park was a key reason for the lawsuit. Nintendo was about to do officially what Mari Mobility was doing themselves and didn't want Mari Mobility in the way. Just my thought and until next time I am out!

Re: Retro Studios Is Remodelling Its HQ In 2021 To Aid Development Of Metroid Prime 4

RareAir23

I think @link3710 has a good point here. It's being seen on the surface as this is just for Metroid Prime 4 but it could indeed be something that allows for even bigger games in the future or even working on more than 1 project easily at once which will only help Retro Studios and Nintendo.

Also, Retro remodeling the studio now doesn't tell me one way or the other Metroid Prime 4 is further away from release now than before this news was published. In fact, because it is one of the few Nintendo first-party titles mostly made in the US (remembering that Retro is based in Austin, Texas, USA) there is a slim possibility that while Nintendo will never admit it (because the company doesn't comment on rumors or speculation) the game is on-time (because all Nintendo of Japan has to do is proofread, approve of and finalize their work into their vision of the finished game). Heck, they just started to hire play testers for builds and that's a move that shouldn't be overlooked or undervalued in the development process at all. Out!

I think what Sakurai failed to realize when he recommended a wired Ethernet connection for Smash Bros Ultimate Online is many, many, many, many gamers cannot setup a wired Ethernet connection in their homes! It is excessively difficult if not impossible for many of them to do it due to the way they setup their home Internet network architecture (and the way the home is built by architectural design) especially if those gamers are in the United States of America.

Many homes are setup and specifically designed for wireless Internet over 802.11N, 802.11AC and now Wi-FI 6. The reason for this is because home owners don't want to run excessive Ethernet cabling through walls, ceilings, attics, basements and the like and in some homes because of the way they were architecturally designed running wired Ethernet to key rooms (living room, TV room, bedrooms) is absolutely impossible!

Nintendo and Sakurai did NOT take any of that into account when they made that recommendation for wired Ethernet when the game was announced in 2018. Wired Ethernet for any game console is a difficult to implement luxury more than it is an easy to implement requirement. Many homes in the USA unless they are specifically designed for it just cannot do it because it's either too much of a time-consuming hassle or it's outright impossible to implement because of the architectural design of the property. Out!

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night On Switch Had Biggest Response, Sales Were "Well Above" Expectations

What this news tells me about Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is that when it comes to the genre of the game made (Metroidvania action/adventure) games of said genre seem to sell best on Switch then on other platforms. I guess the World of Nintendo who is us appreciates them more than fans of other platforms and looks out for them to purchase on a more consistent basis. I'm guilty as charged there. I always enjoy a great Metroidvania action/adventure title. Some will say Bloodstained was graphically and performance poor but to me? It wasn't the worst I ever played in that regard in all my years. Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Out!
