With Metroid Dread now out in the wild and having established itself, it's no doubt earned plenty of fans and continues to prompt interesting debates about where it stands within the iconic series. For those that have enjoyed it a lot, My Nintendo has added some affordable rewards that may be tempting.
The loyalty service is offering three wallpapers of the game's art. The basic versions are below for you to view, though redeeming them on My Nintendo gets you up to 4K resolution in landscape along with a range of portrait versions that will suit phones and tablets; the first is free, while the other two are the standard 50 Platinum Points.
Metroid Dread (Samus Aran) - 0 Platinum Points

Metroid Dread (Power Suit) - 50 Platinum Points

Wallpaper - Metroid Dread (E.M.M.I.) - 50 Platinum Points

We think they're a pretty nice thing to redeem if you have a bunch of points spare. It's worth remembering to check-in on My Nintendo every week for some easy free Platinum Points, too, especially if you don't play and earn coins through the big N's mobile games.
Let us know if you're planning to add any of these wallpapers to your devices.

Let’s have that EMMI one as a 3DS theme please!
Since I only get 60 platinum points a week, I'll save them towards nicer physical rewards than some wallpaper image files.
The best one is free anyway.
Oh boy, more """rewards""" that one can get through a simple Google search again! Yaaaaay.
Will we ever see the return of actual good physical rewards? Most likely no.
If only the Switch allows for wallpaper theme, it's pointless to get these wallpaper for device that had nothing to do with Nintendo.
@Specter_of-the_OLED I agree. Would’ve got this if Switch allowed for themes.
I took a screenshot of the blue light teleport loading screen and that would make a delicious wallpaper
How come you report on this, but not the posters, which quickly sold out, or the fact that My Nintendo restocked them? ...You wanted them for yourselves, and I can't blame you; they are pretty neat. I only saw that they were restocked yesterday, and managed to get myself a set after some last minute point scrounging.
@Matl It's bizarre. Spend points on Wallpapers... yeah? no!
I can’t find that free one on there. It’s a different free one of EMMI
@oconnoclast I don't think they're hard to earn, they just accumulate slowly. If you have a smart device Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing Pocket Camp are the quickest way to get platinum points and you only need to play each game a few minutes a day.
slow down nintendo i dont wanna burn through all my points
Switch themes would be so dope
Give it a few hours, they'll all be on reddit for free. Also, the NA MyNintendo store has none of those. It does have an ugly wallpaper calendar for October, and two really crappy wallpapers.
@Specter_of-the_OLED same. Why bother.
I’d love a screensaver of Samus going up/down an elevator.
@Matl They actually have quite a few nice physical rewards.
I actually like the free one the most.
@Lyricana I am aware. None if them are particularly great though. Best we got was like the animal crossing bag? Outside of that there was a Zelda phone ring, and literally everything else I can recall has been something made of paper. Postcards, paper calendar, sticky note pad, luggage tag. None of those I would deem worth getting at all outside of this rewards service, they're just random bits nobody is gonna get any use from. Should bring back soundtrack CDs from the club Nintendo days, just stuff of actual use and with recognisable effort put into the production of said items.
I want these but they don't seem to be on the US site.
As was mentioned by some of you already, the North American My Nintendo page does not have these wallpapers just yet. Were these meant to be released on My Nintendo pages not in North America only or will they get to everyone, everywhere at 1 point? Out!
Why don't we get these in the US? Most of the wallpapers we get are kind of ugly or ruined by too-large game logos.
So … ima just screen shot these 😂😂😂
I was thinking about adding some, but now they're gone.
