With the release of Monster Hunter Rise — a Nintendo Switch console exclusive entry in Capcom's hugely popular series which is really rather good — Nintendo also announced a special edition Monster Hunter Rise Switch console to coincide with the game's launch on 26th March 2021. Yes, it's now out in the wild!
As you can see from the gorgeous images on this page, this new bundle comes with a standard Switch console (not a Lite), Joy-Cons and Dock adorned with classy gold and grey designs — that's Magnamalo, the game’s flagship monster, on the dock — and gloss black details. If you don't want a whole new system, the game is available to buy separately, of course (along with the three new amiibo figures).
The bundle also includes a download code for the game along with the Deluxe Kit DLC (including the "Kamurai" Hunter layered armor set, "Shuriken Collar" Palamute layered armor piece, "Fish Collar" Palico layered armor piece, Gestures (4 Jumps), Samurai pose set, Kabuki face paint, and "Izuchi Tail" hairstyle), plus bonus content (Palamute Retriever Costume layered armor, Palico Forest Cat Costume layered armor, and Novice Talisman).
If the Mario Red & Blue Edition Switch is a little too garish for your tastes, perhaps this Monster Hunter Switch will be more up your street! There's also a matching Monster Hunter Rise Pro Controller variant sold separately featuring a similar Magnamalo design.

@JaxonH
Go for MonHun Rise preorder.
Wow, £70 for a controller!
Regular Pros usually go for around £55, so you're paying £15 for a Monster Hunter decal. No thanks.
Assuming £280 for the console thats £60 for the digital version of the game! The physical version is only £50 and that's a steelbook edition!
@chardir Weirdly enough special edition consoles have been slightly higher. The Mario console is currently going for about £300 at the moment.
I would get the Pro Controller if they make it available in the US.
@C-Olimar
The same thing happened with previous special Pro Controller designs like the Xenoblade and Splatoon ones. It's all for the novelty, really.
@Anti-Matter
Already got two MH Rise special edition Switch consoles preordered but
these pro controllers are sold out or dont ship to the USAmazon is out and Game isnt doing international deliveries right now. Waiting for Japan orders to go live. Cant believe NA hasnt announced anything.I just got 2 pro controllers from Amazon in Europe for import. Done and done!
Ugh. Don't need it.... But want it...
I absolutely hate when Nintendo Life does these kinds of articles. They lump Canada in with the U.S. when those retailers for the most part won't ship here (not to mention the price difference). Would be really nice if Nintendo Life would remember that Canada and the U.K. share a Head of State & throw a little love to their Canadian readers. @Dazza
Again, would like to know where to get this in Australia. We're just as big on gaming as everywhere else, and seriously this might actually be my first pro controller (I've got small hands so the joycon controller has been so far fine, but as a MH fan would be nice to have this alongside my wii one that I got with Tri)
ShopTo have the controller £5 cheaper
Are they driftless?
@troj27 @Dazza Also £5 cheaper on the Nintendo Official UK Store and they support affiliate links!
@NathanTheAsian @C-Olimar But at least some of the plastic was a different colour on the other three variants (Splatoon, Xenoblade and Smash). This MH one looks like it's just a standard black controller with some gold transfers on it (similar to the Zelda Wii U gamepad.)
I'm waiting for a gold BoTW2 pro-controller. Make it happen Nintendo!
@Julien
You do have a point there. It does kind of look cheaper than the other special designs.
I'm not even going to bother looking at anything BotW 2-related just yet. We did just get Age of Calamity, so I'm expecting a longer wait this time around.
I've ordered my Pro Controller (I couldn't resist!) for £5 cheaper directly from the UK Nintendo Store (£64.99). The console itself is at the same price, though.
Will this be available on Amazon after it comes out because I was planning on getting one and I live in the united states and since this is only for Europe and Asia for now.
Man, how did I miss this article?
I'd love to pre-order the controller, but it hasn't been confirmed for the US/Canada yet. I'm unsure if I want to jump through the extra hoops just to get one item from the UK.
Switch console + Drift controller bundle
Got my Pro Controller pre-ordered over seas since it doesn’t seem to be coming to the US.
I believe based on this https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2021/01/nintendo_unveils_monster_hunter_rise_special_edition_switch_console that we may get the option the preorder February 27th, or some time near them to match the japan preorder time? Just a guess tho
Is this gonna be an updated Switch model with enhanced battery and different display architecture?
@Dryden Heads up, seems the pre-order for the pro controller are up on Best Buy and Gamestop for US costumers.
Wanted to give you all the heads-up on United States status on these products. The Monster Hunter Rise Pro Controller right now, on Thursday February 18th at 2:01pm Pacific time has sold out completely at Best Buy, has very limited stock left at GameStop (use the website, not the mobile app for your best chance at one) and Amazon hasn't posted stock yet or they sold out before they could even get a sales page up. The Monster Hunter Rise Switch Console? No one has a sales page up for it yet or again...it sold out before they could even get a sales page up everywhere. I think I got an order in for the Pro Controller at GameStop through their website. I'll know in 48-72 hours as if my order isn't canceled by then that means I got it. There's your heads-up. Out!
@FASC you get console preorder benefits from the Nintendo Store as well. I have preordered both console and controller. Upgrading from the Lite 👍
