It's a bit of a trend for hit Indie games to start life as download exclusives, enjoy impressive sales and then bring out a physical edition months later - for collectors it's become the norm. It's a little surprising to see Nintendo do the same thing, in Europe on this occasion.
Game Builder Garage was an eShop-only release in Europe back in June, though it did get a retail version in North America. Today, however, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that a physical version will arrive across Europe on 10th September, around three months after its digital debut.
There's no detail on pricing as yet, though in North America it costs the same at retail as it does on the eShop.
So, are many of you European gamers planning to pick up the physical edition?

I have no idea why this didn't happen at launch when literally everywhere else had a physical copy, but I guess better late then never?
This is too late, a lot of customers that wanted this game physically will have already imported it.
It won't hurt Nintendo though given it's first party and will have a good shelf presence.
@HotGoomba @CowCatcher I think Nintendo Europe just didn't have much faith in it and it turns out it sold better than expected. Feels too late though as most people will already have their digital copy and won't want to buy it twice.
See, good thing I waited on deciding to import.
@CowCatcher Other games released in Europe over past three months haven't had that problem.
Well I’ll buy it because it being digital only is the reason I didn’t. I’m not a massive fan of importing.
Awesome! I was so desperate I was about to import it!
Already imported the US version So this is kinda annoying. It was the same with Raiden IV only like 2 months ago!
Australia got a physical release at launch, but the cartridge was imported from the US.
Interesting that this is the second physical delay for Europe this year (Crash Bandicoot 4 also having a later physical launch), with a similar delay window.
Regardless, was holding out for a physical EU release, so this is going right on the pre-order list. Will probably be put aside initially for WarioWare.
I guess this has increased the chances of me getting it someday.
I'm so glad this finally happened as I wanted to use this with my son but it was too much of a risk money wise to buy two digital copies in case he didn't get into it, this way at least I can get just the physical edition and we can both we how we get on with it.
good that i waited
I hope questionable decisions like this are avoided in the future. What were they thinking???
Why the wait in the first place? Must have had some produciton delay in EU territories or something
I already download it to be fair. This is strange though
@Clyde_Radcliffe That's really unfortunate. Since everybody that wanted it physically imported it, it may change the statistics in a way that the game is not going to sell well physically in Europe.
Wonder if it'll have the patches on cart. As many others did, I imported a US copy from Amazon. I wish they'd say if there's an EU version planned or not.
I might try it out now as I'm physical only. Does it have a demo I wonder? I'll check.
Doesnt this game need internet to download games? Without the downloads there’s not much game left? But I mean… not complaining
@Clyde_Radcliffe I'm thinking you are right on the money. Honestly, even I didn't think this game would sell as well as it did or have the legs that it's showing. Sure, it's not a blockbuster, but it's doing very well. Nintendo is probably also kicking themselves right now for not charging a full $60.
@TheAwesomeBowser : That's the first thing I looked out for when I opened the case (and I wasn't surprised). I think this may be the first Australian physical release to contain a U.S. cartridge though.
