I bought the Wii u and it never sat well with me , I felt like the gamepad was a hurdle between me and the games , I'm sure others really enjoyed it.

I haven't noticed a difference personally.

I have been holding a world cup at work on my switch when we are quiet and my staff love it. Won as Russia 2-0 to Egypt today, wonder if that'll play out this evening?

Very true regarding the lasting impression of a franchise.

When I was 11 years old I played ocarina of time , and at 26 I was as excited to play BOTW.

Maybe this is abit of an overstatement , but sometimes a franchise of your childhood becomes like a lifelong friend. Sometimes you don't see them for years, but when you next meet , it's as fun as the first time.

IMO, if the individual has an addictive personality then anything can become an addiction.

I do think more needs to be done here in the UK to manage people's screen time , specifically smartphones , as I see that having a bigger impact on people's cognitive and communicative abilities.

I liked the last question in the poll, it made me think back to all of the great people I've met through gaming online.

All of the 'products' he's launched have been god awful , either cheaply built or non functional.

Of all the versions being released, I'm pretty confident that the switch playerbase will help each other more than invade for trolling sake, of course , I could be completely wrong.

Cross platform would be impossible or heavily one sided if they don't get 60fps across all platforms anyway.

Some information would be nice nearly a year into launch , although I'm not sure there are enough online experiences at this point to justify the expense.

Nintendo have hit a home run with this console, not only does it have a great original lineup , it's giving so many games a soapbox and a new lease of life.

I've expected DK Tropical freeze since the switch launched tbh. It's one of those games that was great , but never reached the audience it should have so this is a sensible re release.

Dark souls will be cool, Kirby is way sooner than I expected. E3 is going to kick off!

They need some big hitters if they are to beat last year, in regards to both sales and critical reception.

More ports will help push 2018 along, but the main appeal of the system will continue to be 1st party and indie.

So after reading through the comments I have a feeling in my stomach I'm going to be disappointed when alot of the games mentioned don't turn up.

Imo Im not so confident that switch will get many 3rd party AAA exclusives, that would mean devs and publishers would be missing the other 90+ million people who game on the other home consoles.

I'd love to see it happen, but I believe we'll need another 10 million switch units sold through at least before any serious movement in that direction.

I'd like to see something like sunset overdrive make it's way to switch, that game would be perfect for the switch crowd, and unfortunately for insomniac , going Xbox exclusive , exclusive , exclusive (anyone who saw the MS e3 would get that) was a death spiral for a title that deserved more.

I think they did a good job, I've certainly had fun during my time with it and for £11.24 or whatever I paid for it on switch it was worth every center balled penny of it.

It's probably way, way to soon, but a cheeky "The legend of Zelda" now in development a la Metroid would be cool.

Beyond that, I hope they have a similarly busy release schedule to buoy up the indie releases. I'm pretty confident they learned from the Wii u that few games = few sales.

That target makes me excited to know what games are coming in 2018. I fully expect a year 2 road map similar to what they did at launch.

Ain't no way they raise their target that much without having complete confidence they'll have software to make it achievable.

Sure the Divine beasts and Ganon were plot points, but as people have pointed out above , Botw is special because you are the story teller and the reader.

When you ask people about what they remember from their time with botw, it's never a scripted part, but an action or consequence that they caused/observed while travelling through the world.

Botw was my number 1 by a country mile.

I will pick this up before long, it looks so fun for a portable game.

Meh it happens, no big deal if you know what to expect from any online service under load.

The fact that the service is free still gives them some good grace with people, if it's a paid service then it's a little more of an annoyance , but hey ho.

It truly is a masterpiece , and anyone that wants to come out and say otherwise has, unfortunately for them , missed the magic that everyone else captured in playing it, in my humble opinion.

That being said , Mario Odyssey can do it. If these devs were given the same tools/knowledge as Nintendo we would see alot more of the fabled 60fps imo.

My wish list is :-

Open world landmass
Water and boats a la windwaker
Tougher story bosses
Scaling durability
Different difficulties included in the base game
Crafting for weapons and outfits
Some sort of socket style system to upgrade existing items.

Such a brilliant game, for me it captured the same magic feeling I got from final fantasy 7 back in 1997.
Not many games ever achieve that connection with people.

I would love to play this again on switch, big surf island was next level fun jumping the bridge gap with friends.

Hopefully EA getting their fingers burned with BF2 prevents them locking cars behind lootcrates, just give us all the goodies, cops n robbers, dlc cars and big surf island as one solid purchase.

I'm going to pickup Odyssey after Christmas, I've just come back to BOTW to do some more shrines before jumping into the expansion pass.

Between those two and nine parchments I don't have time for anything else.

Discord would add choice, and that's always a good thing.

But no built in microphone on the switch means that the console would need to work with a headset with inline mic and I'm not sure it does at the moment? I could be wrong.

Personally , I'd like Nintendo to release a wireless headset similar to the official PS4 one , and since I'm making a wish list, rainbow six siege would be welcomed lol.
