Im not a fan of Cod anymore, but it would be great to see one launch on switch, and you can be pretty sure other publishers would use it's sales numbers to test the prospects for their own releases.
Personally im not a huge fan of motion controls but i do like the look of Arms. I can't see a game that uses motion controls becoming a serious esports title.
People saying they dont care for 3rd party devs on switch are entitled to that opinion, But, my understanding was nintendo wanted to make the switch appeal to a wider audience.
Stuff like Skyrim announced day 1 or listing what devs are currently working with the system clearly shows their intentions, and more games only makes the system more appealing to non-nintendo purchasers. They have an innovative console , their ip's bring a big crowd, but the market for non nintendo titles is absolutely huge, THAT is the target audience that will make it a true success.
Horizon has alot going for it. From a technical perspective it absolutely is up there as one of if not the best looking 'realistic' art style game ive played.
That being said , I got bored of its gameplay structure, so much so that i never actually finished it! For me personally the story was well written but didnt make me care enough to continue to the end.
Botw for me trumps horizons gameplay by quite a big margin and i think most who have played it would agree.
Only time will tell if 3rd parties jump on board in a meaningful way. I would love to see a titanfall on the switch (a guy can dream) Im in no doubt if activision/blizzard ported overwatch that would become a system seller also.
It is as a some point out a niche community , however, it's still a flagship ip , on a new system, from a company that really could do with the system and software sales. It's not really here nor there that it's a small collective doing it , it still inevitably hits nintendo's bottom line in one way or another.
Im looking forward to picking it up. While delivering an unpolished product at full price is what has bred most of the negativity and instanteneous slandering of developers and publishers nowadays and rightly so, i dont think these guys realised how much of a double edged sword setting hype and high expectations is in todays market.
This seems like a really , really strange design decision. I never played the first game, and am keen for this day one, but a multiplayer centric game that wont let the community pick where the next match goes seems like a mistake. If anything , giving that choice to the 8 people in the match would be more engaging, and on a new system, engaging your player base is key.
Hi everybody! Ive just 3 days ago bought myself a switch , and coming from someone who has gamed on ps4/xbone/pc for the last couple years (i did have a Wii U for smash bros and mk8 but its collected dust for a long time) , i cant describe the fun i am having gaming again on the switch. The UK gaming market is dominated by imo trash yearly rehashes, but if Nintendo doesnt have success with the switch i'll be shocked. It fits into the modern working life so well. They do need to keep the advertising strong as this recent success does come during two very well known IP's launching alongside the system itself - If they can build on the momentum with strong marketing for Arms and Splatoon 2 , and follow with announcements like Smash bros switch , then its on like donkey kong.
P.s im sure it'll sell plenty, but Skyrim feels like the family pet that really should be put down , its had its time , can it please leave us graciously.
