Re: Hands On: Putting the Nintendo Switch Hardware Through Its Paces

PotatoTheG

Jesus, some people here will defend Nintendo no matter what stupid stunts they pull. The pricing of the accessories is a legitimate complaint, not everyone has money pouring out of their pockets. But yeah, we HATE Nintendo because we don't eat every little thing from the palm of their hand! How ungrateful of us.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?

PotatoTheG

I'm not feeling it at all. Like I said, this just feels like a repeat of the Wii U... a cute gimmick that everyone can live without, plenty of game droughts, no third party support, etc.

I'll get one eventually for Mario (And Zelda, although it's not as big of a deal for me as some people) but this wasn't good. The paid online is extra salt in the wound, as I'd only likely use it for Splatoon (Lack of third party devs can make or break a subscription like this).

I can't go through with the "muh positivity" vibe some people have here, I'm really, really disappointed.

Re: Soapbox: The Switch Presentation Was Good, but Not Perfect

PotatoTheG

Nothing really convinced me to get one at launch, this just looks like another Wii U to me. And while the Wii U was ok, I don't want another repeat of game shortages and a short lifespan (Which Nintendo have entirely to blame for themselves by the way).

All I'm saying is I haven't seen anything that shouts "This is different, we've learned from our mistakes!" although the few games that do interest me like Mario and Spla2oon look good. Maybe I'll get one next year.

@therealgamer Jeez, calm down. You're spamming the comment section at this point. Also nice generalisation.

@MajinSoul Whiny 12 year olds aren't indicative of a console's userbase. Nintendo fans get a ton of bad rep too thanks to a certain minority as well.

@Mega_Yarn_Poochy If you took the time to read the comments section you'd see a lot of people complaining about this. I personally think it's sort of scummy but I wasn't going to buy the game anyway so it doesn't affect me.

"But no, this is an indie developer, and they can do no wrong."
Still don't understand this weird idea that people are biased towards indie devs.

Re: Review: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS (3DS)

PotatoTheG

@ALinkttPresent It's a port of an existing game. We've all played it without the gimped features, I think it's not unfair to judge.

@ThomasBW84 "Online doesn't matter anyway lol I'm going to ignore all the creative and fun levels that were only made possible thanks to online sharing" is a pretty petty argument, although I agree with most of what you said to an extent. (edit: woops I read that totally wrong that's what I get for writing stupid comments when I'm tired)
