Strategies for this map: Rollers tend to control the central area by running everyone over. hooters and other versatile weapons - perhaps Sloshers - can ink the walls and climb up to get behind rollers. Chargers aren't nearly as good as everyone suspected, in fact the vantage points are barely vantage points at all. Splatlings are as Alex showed probably more effective. Blasters are also pretty powerful especially on that centre bridge.
I hate to be picky, but there's a grammatical error in paragraph 4, line 3, "Not" should not be capitalised . Other than that great story, I agree with everything you say about the philosophy of Mario.
@aaronsullivan I do! My friend often comes over - not as much recently, but I know he'll really start again once I get SMM, we're both great fans of the series - and we play all sorts of Nintendo games together on the 3DS./DS
This is my preferred Mario game to play on emulators - the graphics are the best and the controls are nice, not to mention AIRSHIPS and the cool storyline, awesome bosses and YOSHI!
@themightyboost yeah! that feature is available on the fan-made, free Super Mario Bros. X, so Nintendo better include it! Nintendo are aware of SMBX, having sued it a couple times so maybe this will come up.
I never got round to playing this one, when I finished the first Mario Galaxy. I thought it was fun, but the experience for me had taken years with me playing it on and off (don't ask) so I didn't really want to go through all that again. I considered it at first, but other games put it out of my mind.
I'm interested in seeing directs continuing, but I like your ideas about having larger-scale public expos to reach a wider audience, which is something Nintendo could do with doing.
@SSB4Life_get_it I have a feeling if you could, it would be the most overused troll mechanic. "You want a powerup? Or a coin? Too bad, here's a final-level boss!" I just hope they patch in boom-boom/koopalings/reznors/etc..
Do you seriously still have that instruction manual? I'd be interested to see it. For some reason I feel like becoming an instruction manual collector now.
@Aromaiden I agree. Somehow I feel like Regular Battle could do with a new mode because always playing Turf War means it's starting to lose some of its appeal.
@buildz I certainly hope it does well. Then again, do I? If it does TOO well (if that's even possible) then the 100 Mario challenge will be crammed full of spam courses and things with sound effects on every block.
I love Chrome auto-translate. "By the stage information to reference, consider the weapons and strategy!" "The win in the battle, it will raise the rankings!" Sounds like Jelonzo XD
A "mining game"? Come on, of all the things to do in Terraria mining is done only because you simply need the resources, there's so much stuff not involving mining I don't think you can really justify calling it that. And the controls look a bit difficult, so I don't think I'll be picking this one up, especially seeing as I already have it for PC.
1st Also, Under 301+ club What do you mean, there's no views counter on Nintendo Life?! Wow, though, this was pretty cool. The Mute City theme sounded quite strange with the Mii "singing" in the background...
@Robotron2084 I'm pretty sure the length is going to be customisable/infinite, if they're going to even start competing with free Mario level designers like Super Mario Bros. X. However I know some things won't be available, I don't think scrolling levels (airships and those towers where the lava chases you) are being included at launch anyway.
@luchacomics It can't happen because of how important the gamepad is to the gameplay. And they would have to reengineer the whole Wii U to make more than one Gamepad work on a single machine.
I'm glad that Nintendo aren't asking for loads for their DLC. Would love to see more expansions like this on future N games, providing that their cost stays low. Also, they should be afecting by user requests e.g. for characters in Smash. Maybe if we request a Splatoon weapon for long enough it comes?
@Sakuraichu The 2 minute rule was edited. They never said it would be removed. I find I can post things in much more quick succession than before. And why should I ever want to post more than 30 posts a day?
A thing I don't like about the redesign is that you now have to click on a category in order to yeah items from that category, basically meaning I get less yeahs. Other than that it's great. Oh, and nobody understands how to use the discussion feature.
@CTMike And a non-ranked of the Ranked gamemodes. I hope they engineer a twist on Turf War for Regular Battle, it would be cool to play more than just one gamemode without worrying about losing your rank like I always am...
@Gridatttack I suppose an advantage of the Wii U edition would be that with the multiplayer, you wouldn't have to get your friends to buy multiple copies of the game, and the Wiimotes would be pretty useful for the cursor and stuff.

Re: Mario History: Super Mario World - 1991
@Kirk I blame the game which mashed together SMB3 SNES graphics with SMW graphics for that.
Re: Mario History: Super Mario World - 1991
@Kirk Yes, of course there were airships in this game. I never make mistakes.
