It's that time of the week again, and as always we've thrown together what qualifies as being the biggest news of the week as well as all the releases and reviews.
This week we're focusing on the new features in Super Mario Maker, Chris Prangar's unfortunate dismissal, and much more besides!

Do you seriously still have that instruction manual? I'd be interested to see it. For some reason I feel like becoming an instruction manual collector now.
Pretty slow week to be honest. The most exciting thing to me is the Splatoon thing, although the extra Super Mario Maker features are a nice addition.
This actually seems pretty cool. Still definitely not worth the 60$ asking price, but cool. Maybe if they let us design our own bosses...
Or if they released DLC for a 3D mario maker.
I pre-ordered it on ebay for £35.
"unfortunate" dismissal?
Pretty sure, I and many others have detailed exactly why he got precisely what he deserved.
He directly violated Nintendo's policies on unauthorized interviews and appearances, was very condescending, confrontational and unprofessional in his tone and with his comments that reflected VERY badly on Nintendo as a corporate identity, His appearence was a direct slap in the face to Nintendo, a black mark on their company that embarassed them, and was done knowing full well that doing so directly violated his own conditions and terms that he AGREED to uphold as part of their staff.
The termination was completely justified, brought entirely on himself and was 100% both his own fault AND the only possible action Nintendo could have taken for what he did knowingly.
Anyone expressing any amount of sympathy for him is a fool.
You know that the 3ds is not getting anything for Mario 30th year.
Super Mario Maker is looking increasingly appealing to me. Might have to pre-order, if the Amiibo edition comes to US that is.

@BattleEnder High expectations much?
@TeeJay Haha I guess.
More seriously though, plaformer level creators are a dime a dozen. It's sometimes a free extra mode on a platformer. Point is, Nintendo needs to do this really well and/or add some extra metaphorical cherries on top that go the extra mile, like boss design or customizable power ups or making literal worlds. Heck, maybe having routine competitions would do it. They need to make it special, especially with the high asking price for what is, essentially, normally a cheap feature no one uses.
Basically just saying it needs to be way beyond any platform customization we've seen before
@night A man losing his job is still unfortunate. True he violated his contract but it's not like he upped and punched Miyamoto in the face is it?
@night call me a fool then... Yes the man goofed and he has had to pay the price, as has his family, and I think the whole thing is unfortunate, regrettable and I simply cannot help feeling some sympathy for him... I don't blame Nintendo in the slightest, they had no other choice, but we're all human and humans make mistakes
@night
I agree he kinda asked for it and had it coming. You can't go divulging that kind of information and expect nothing to come of it.
Nonetheless, I don't think I'm a fool for feeling sympathetic toward him. People make poor judgement calls. Thank God I haven't gotten what I deserved every time I mess up.
@AlexOlney maybe he did and there's a super injunction keeping that fact out of the press.
Plus, Shigsy ALWAYS strikes first.
Only in the remake.
