Re: Switch Owners Choose To Play EA Games On Other Platforms, Says Company CEO

Painkiller_Mike

If EA made games that utilized engines that could easily be scaled up or down, then their games would sale better on the Switch. But they don't. Or better yet, how about instead of porting the 360 version of "insert sports game name here", make a sports game from the ground up specifically for the Switch. There is so much potential money to be made but the higher ups at EA love to make money with the least amount of effort and money spent on their part (yearly sports updates are a perfect example). How about teaming up with Nintendo for a new NBA Street (or NFL, NHL, MLB FIFA) game and add an exclusive team(s) made entirely of Nintendo characters. I guarentee that would fly off of store shelves and put to rest this notion that EA games won't sell on the Switch.

Re: Nintendo Releases Statement About Switch Joy-Con Drift Issue

Painkiller_Mike

It took a class action lawsuit for Nintendo to acknowledge the problem...that's sad considering that out of the companies that still make consoles, Nintendo's QA in my opinion is leagues ahead of both Microsoft and Sony. And I say that as a gamer who has purchased almost every single system released since my parents bought me an NES back in 88. The only company that has a track record as good as Nintendo's is Sega but they are out of the hardware game. Hopefully Nintendo does the right thing here. I have yet to experience the dreaded joycon drift but honestly we only use the joycons in our home when the entire family (of 4) is playing something together and one person gets stuck with a pair which we have two pairs of joycons. Eventually I'll experience the drift.

Re: Nintendo Switch Pro Won't Be Coming This Year

That's fantastic news. Nintendo needs to figure out how to include a bigger battery first and foremost, especially if they are making any upgrades to the CPU, GPU and/or RAM. And cooling will be an issue as well. We don't need the battery exploding like the Samsung Note from a few years back.

Re: Limited Run Games To Release Physical NES And Game Boy Star Wars Cartridges

Painkiller_Mike

What's Star Wars? Seriously I could care less but I can see how fans would get excited over this. If they rereleased good Star Wars games (for example the ones that were released for the Gamecube) then I would get excited. These games are no bueno. Getting excited over this is the equivalent of getting excited over a rerelease of the poorly made Transformers Famicom game.

Re: There's No Need To Worry About Paid DLC Or Microtransactions In Team Sonic Racing

Painkiller_Mike

From what I've read so far, this game is not as polished or as fun as Transformed which is a bummer but I still want to support them. It's sold for $40 which goes to show you that they knew the game wasn't as good or/doesn't have enough content to justify the full retail price of $60 that most new games command and they gave micro transactions and essentially at release DLC or off disc DLC the middle finger and that needs supporting.

Re: Video: Can Team Sonic Racing On Switch Keep Pace With The PlayStation 4 Version?

Painkiller_Mike

I have a problem with this video comparison and here's why, they compared the Switch version to a version being played on the PS4 Pro. Really? Why not an OG PS4. That's always bothered me even during my PC gaming days. Reviews are already based on someone's personal opinion but when you go out and play the game on top of the line hardware which the majority of folks don't even own, then your review in my opinion is already stacked in the games favor. I still recall my disappointment as a teenager playing PC games using the "recommended" hardware and the game still not living up to the expectations that you receive from reading reviews because those folks would and continue to play these games with PC's that cost several thousands of dollars. Another example, Kinect games on the Xbox 360 when they were reviewed it was in perfect and ideal room environments that most consumers could not replicate, for whatever reason, be it space issues or lighting. Microsoft even did that when presenting Kinect games to the press and public. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a more recent example. From what I've read, heard and personally seen, that game runs like poop when played on OG Xbox One and PS4 hardware and yet a lot of reviewers failed to leave that out of their reviews. Fallout 76 is another. I own two copies. It runs and looks like @ss on my OG Xbox One (playing it off a SSD does help but not much). Night and day difference on my wife's Xbox One X. There is even a significant difference on the Xbox One S (draw distance, frame rate and textures are improved) and yet how many reviewers pointed that out. Wouldn't it be nice if reviewers were more transparent about these things or is it too much to ask for?
