Am I the only one who thinks it's silly to buy a case for a digital game? For what, so you can place it on your shelf in the background of your YouTube video.

@SpacedDuck Funny we share that in common. This is one of the few Nintendo Switch websites that appears to be somewhat legit. I don't remember what article but they sourced a website by the name GoNintendo. I go to check it out and their articles are literally a paragraph long. Zero reviews and they even have the nerve to post IGN videos with once again a brief one paragraph description but they write it as if the video is their own. What a scam website. Just posting other people's content just to generate ad revenue.

@Yomerodes You bring up a valid point however it doesn't make it look any less suspicious.

@Mqblank I'm certain that some of those games deserve the score but there are just as many that are questionable. Eights all around. You get an 8. And you get an 8. Everyone look under their chair because there just might be an envelope with the number 8 on it. Haha!

@Aneira I'm just saying that lately I've noticed them handing out 8's like if it were candy on Halloween. I checked their reviews for the month of January just to make sure and it looks like I'm correct in my assessment.

Is it just me or has every game reviewed on this website over the past week received an 8? Maybe it's a coincidence, or maybe I'm wrong. I never did play this so I'm not saying it doesn't deserve the score. Just making an observation.

Sounds to me like this is something that Nintendo will hold on to until a Nintendo Direct when they can proudly announce it and then say "available on eshop today".

I think it's ridiculous that Square Enix has yet to announce plans to release this outside of Japan. Are they allergic to money?

Nintendo will release a handheld ONLY version of the Switch this holiday season. So technically, they aren't lying when they say "there will be no successor or price cut anytime soon". A handheld only version that sold for $200 or $250 with a game would allow Nintendo to clear out their remaining stock of 3DS/2DS units at a reduced price while still having a handheld system on the market.

PLEASE! Please let this be true. The Castlevania cartoon on Netflix is AMAZING! To be honest, I would prefer that they make it live action or animation. The last CG Resident Evil movie was really HORRIBLE. And I don't care what ANYONE says, the final chapter of the live action Resident Evil movies was great. There, I said it!

Glad to hear that it's back in the capable hands of Retro. HOWEVER, this explains why we haven't seen even a single screen shot (the logo does NOT count). I'm willing to bet that Metroid 4 does NOT see the light of day on the Switch and if it does, it will release at the very end of the systems lifespan and have a release on whatever Nintendo's next system is. The same way that Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild saw releases on two consoles.

@GhostGarrity You'll love it. The story deals with very mature and realistic topics and the games battle system is fantastic. The way you collect character Persona's and abilities is very similar to the Pokemon handheld games. I can't recommend it enough. One of my favorite PS4 games.

@dougphisig Same here. I hope it gets released on the Switch just so that more people can enjoy it. The one and only complaint that I had was the game is ridiculous with how it limits you to a few tasks per day. Extremely frustrating and it's something I never got accustomed to. It would just piss me off more and more the longer I played.

I haven't been on the eshop in a while but I needed a break this afternoon from Dead Cells (fantastic game that I highly recommend) and I was floored by the amount of shovelware. It's the digital equivalent of the Wii library.

I started reading this article and immediately stopped. The game sounds like something that I would enjoy and I don't want to spoil it for myself.

I absolutely love Virtua Racing, specifically the Sega Genesis port which was and still is a technical marvel. Funny story. That game released for $100 because of the special chip Sega used inside the cart to render polygons (just like Starfox) and I bought it for THIRTY DOLLARS on release day. From a pizzeria! Never did I question where or why. I know better than that. I bought several Genesis games from them for that price, including Streets of Rage 3 and Sonic 3.

Nice! Hopefully Sega makes lots of $$$$$ and Nintendo follows suit with a translated Mother 3 release. One can dream.

@Pod I guess so. Just would be nice if they moved on to something functional.

@Pod Agreed. I love the simplicity as well but wouldn't be great if you could swipe the way you can on a cell phone to access your apps? When docked you could just hit a button to swipe screens.

Dear Nintendo,

Please for the love of gaming, offer a better solution to the Switch's home screen. I've purchased at least a dozen indie games since the launch of the Switch and I have lost track of the vast majority of them. Hell, I'll even take the Wii U's menu screen or something similar to it. I hate having to open a separate menu just to access my games. The Xbox One and PS4 do the exact same thing and it's just as garbage on those systems.

A gamer with too many games

I doubt that Square Enix is going to cough up the cash for such a big card. That's has to require at least a 32 GB card for both games to fit. Weren't both games multi disc releases on the Xbox 360 because of the systems DVD storage limitations?

Update: Nevermind. Looks like maybe it will fit on an 8gb card. For some reason I thought this was XII. X was originally released on the PS2.

I'm so glad that it doesn't look like the previous MK game. It looked weird. I can't explain it, I just hated the visual style, especially when compared to MK 9 and the Injustice games.

If this looked more like Super Mario Bros 2, I would be interested (that game holds a special place in my heart). This just looks bad.

I'm still waiting for GI Joe, the original Takara NES game to see the light of day. I know it will never happen but a man can dream.

I love it when Nintendo Life provides a link to a game I never heard of and then I click said link so I can check it out and I get a vague description, no pictures or even a trailer. I say this with a sincere amount of sarcasm. Please fix this or don't bother with the links.

I tried downloading my purchases on my Wii but since I transferred to the Wii U, you can't. You are forced to choose one or the other which in my opinion is ridiculous and shows how behind the times Nintendo is when it comes to everything online related. I will ensure that all of my Wii purchases are downloaded on my Wii U this weekend and then I will hack my Wii just so that I can download those purchased games on my Wii as well. Sad that I have to go through all that trouble while Microsoft and Sony make it so much simpler and easier to do the exact same thing.

Why the horrible screenshots or is this how the game really looks like?

It's sad that I'm more interested in playing the "special edition" games but for good reason. I never could finish Ninja Gaiden or Ghost and Goblins. And yet I beat Silver Surfer. That game gets a bad rap but the game was good and the music was amazing.

Nope. THQ what the hell are you doing? You have so many games in your catalog that you can bring over and someone in a suit decided these four games needed to come to the Switch. Hope someone gets fired.

Wait a minute! How did this not hit my radar? How much and is this on the American eshop? I would gladly fork over $20 for this than $60 for Resident Evil 2 which in my opinion is WAY overpriced.

Edit: Saw the sidebar info. Picking this up ASAP! Now bring Dino Crisis, and Resident Evil 3 Nemesis over to the Switch.

@nintendal Agreed. However, there is ZERO reason for them to slowly trickle ROM's of games that are several decades old. Especially since they are readily available on the internet for FREE. So much money to be made and at times I feel like they are allergic to money. If I owned even a single share in their company, I would be yelling and screaming at every opportunity. There is no reason that Nintendo's stock shouldn't be in the triple digits other than Nintendo of Japan's unwillingness to get with the times.

@nintendal Yup but they won't because it makes too much sense. Things would be so much better if Nintendo Of America and Europe were capable of operating independently from the Nintendo Of Japan.

@nintendal What licensing issues? Please take your time reading my comment. I swore that I wrote Nintendo games, as in made by Nintendo which means outside of Rare develop games, there would be no " licensing issues ".

Nintendo's Switch Online service should have gone live with hundreds of Nintendo titles made available on day ONE. They are really missing an opportunity to become the Netflix of retro games. I would gladly pay double the price if they did that. The ROM's are already available. There is nothing stopping Nintendo from doing this but senile old Japanese suits working at Nintendo of Japan.

I did that with Alien Isolation and some family members. Now THAT is an experience.

@leo13 Good for you but it wasn't for me. Just like the some enjoy the difficulty of The Lost Levels (the Japanese Super Mario 2) and some prefer the American version.

@Trajan My Xbox using Monster brand component cables looks amazing on my Panasonic 50 in Plasma. The PS2 on the other hand looks like garbage. I did have better luck with my wifes Sony Bravia 42 in LED via component. I played several 2D games (SF Alpha series and the SF puzzle game and Pocket Fighter) and they looked great however anything 3D was horrible. I recall FFX looking okay when still but the second you moved EVERYTHING got blurry and it was very difficult to stomach. I am curious as to what TV you have your PS2 hooked up to. I wasted many hours of my life searching the internet and the general consensus is that the PS2 looks atrocious on HD TV's.

How well do GBA games output using this? I ask because that is the only reason why I would even consider buying one. My Gamecube games look pretty damn good on my Wii that's hooked up to the wife's Sony Bravia 42 in LED TV . It took many hours, over the course of many days to calibrate the image but it was well worth the effort. I tried my PS2 and that looked like poo poo so I never bothered hooking up the Gamecube.

Need to grab this as well as Outrun.

I want this. Not because I'm a huge Outrun fan but because I have fond memories playing as a kid in bars while my dad was drinking. Gotta love the 80's!

I fired up the Wii U this past weekend and played the Luigu expansion for New Super Mario Bros. U and quickly realized why I never finished it. I expect to see a lot of "my Switch broke" complaints on the internet in the next few days.
