I want a controller for the switch lite that you can mount on the sides and connect via bluetooth. Sort of like a grip case but it has joycons built in. Moving forward on my left analog is already buggy, sometimes I have to use a some force to make my player go sprint instead of walk. Doubt it will happen though so just wishful thinking.
Lost in Random and Eastward for me. Missed the pre-order discount so I may wait a bit since I've got some other games to finish. I'm so glad we're getting such high quality indies like these. Eastward's been getting some well deserved praise by a lot of publications already.
No way I'm paying more for this. I hope they keep the simple pricing model they have right now. This is the reason I hate PS Plus and Xbox Gold. They make it seem like you are getting free games for the online service when in fact it's just a calculated value for them to break even (at minimum) on selling these "free" games in a subscription bundle.
@dojmin All f2p games like on the switch does not need an NSO subscription so yeah it is free.
Gameplay sneak peek looks ok and much better than the leaked screenshots. Just remove the mobile commands overlay for more screen real estate on the Switch and we're good.
This looks silly in a bad way but I will give it a try since its free. It might be a nice game to play in short bursts like Ninjala and Pokemon Unite to unwind from some serious JRPGs and stuff.
@quinnyboy58 The biggest complaint on Nocturne remaster was the compressed music which to me sounds like a 96kbps mp3 played in Winamp (more prominent with the battle music). Also read that there are frame drops during animations but my eyes aren't really trained to see those especially in a turn based game like this. I am enjoying it myself and although I never got to play the OG, I think it is a great visual remaster based on comparison videos on Youtube.
@Anti-Matter @KingMike I always thought Mister Donut was a local brand here in the Philippines. I'm surprised to know that it's a US brand originally. Their brand has always been strong here even when J.Co and Krispy Kreme entered the market. I think that's because their price point is more accessible which is why I assumed it was a local brand. Love those Pokemon designs. Sadly they don't have it here.
Got this on the PS4 on a deep sale but only got to play a while before deleting it to make space for other games. I think it can run well especially since Saber is doing it (and its their own game this time) seeing what they've done with the Crysis and Witcher ports. Nothing like this on the Switch really but now with this and Dying Light we will have 2 really good zombie shooters that should scratch that B4B itch.
@Moroboshi876 Most likely they roll out more games eventually. I think it was the same with the Brazil region which is slowly catching up now. Also somebody mentioned earlier that they bought digital codes on the official Nintendo region storefront previously when the eShop didn't exist yet.
@Moroboshi876 @BananaMetallurgica I've been using the same site for quite a while now and I have definitely seen Argentina and Peru prices there for as long as I can remember. Didn't even know they didn't have an eShop until now. I guess it worked through redeem codes or something before this. Never tried buying from those regions though as I mostly stick to MX, ZA, RU and US.
@jump yeah the cards I think is just a design/style for the skills. I don't think its a deckbuider like most perceive it to be. I could be wrong though.
I am definitely sold on this. Not too concerned about the card mechanics, think of it as skills in turn based but with rng elements (at least that's what I assumed). Although not a fan of deckbuilder games, I played a lot of Magic The Gathering when I was a kid/teen. So glad to finally get a Marvel game in the RPG genre. It'll be getting a confidant system as well which is a very welcome addition. I hope there is a lot of lore and story in this which seems to be the case based on what they've shown so far.
Like many others here, I am more interested in playing GBA titles. Didn't get a chance to own one and there are many games in that system I am interested in. This would be a welcome addition though.
Never got a chance to play this but I remember my neighbor was so hooked in it. Sometimes watched him play when I hang out at his place. I will give it a try this time 'round as there really isn't anything like this which makes me very curious.
Would have been nice but unfortunately this seems to be region locked in our IP and would require a VPN. Likely due to Netflix owning the rights to broadcast here.
Never really played much Pokemon but my daughter is a big fan so I got to try a couple games recently. While the graphics looks nice on this game, I do believe Pokemon's identity is not built on realism because of its target audience. If we're talking about a graphical update in the series then they should just make a game with visuals like Pokemon Snap.
@Friendly Playing Nocturne as my first SMT gameright now and logged approx. 40 hrs. since I started it last month. I would say its alright especially if you're ok with old school JRPG mechanics. However I also started playing Persona 4 & 5 beforehand and despite not being done with either game, I played enough of both to get used to their shared mechanics. So far I don't find the difficulty much of a problem as I find it more or less the same with P4G. Also if you've played Persona 5, you'll notice that there are concepts that likely came from Nocturne such as mementos, dungeon map designs and shadow negotiations. If I finish all these games and after SMT V, I plan on getting IV and Apocalypse as well. Guess you can say that I'm really addicted to this series now.
@path4smash Yeah I get what you mean. Also not an apples to apples comparison as mobile chipsets behave differently. Metro is also a remaster so there are optimizations same with Crysis. RER2 and the Lego games though are good references since they are likely the same versions elsewhere.
@BloodNinja Not much of an expert but as someone who still plays a bit of the 360, I would say that the Switch has a bit of an edge somewhat in graphics and performance. RER2 and Metro is so much better on the Switch IMO as I have both on the 2 consoles. Lego games seem to run smoother on the Switch too.
@Specter_of-the_OLED Got a wired PowerA for the headphone output. Also their sticks are pretty good for shooters IMO. Goes pretty cheap on Amazon sales and works well with PC too.
This looks really good and meaty. Saw this on Steam initially and glad its coming to Switch. That indie world direct was probably the best one in a long time. Garden story, metal slug tactics, this plus some quality titles coming from PC.
@Nclind #1 is really concerning. Its possible to get it eventually but I doubt I can get it here with the $399 base model srp. Not to mention its gonna be troublesome finding it, plus warranty/service will be an issue as well. I am considering it sometime, but not really necessary for me right now. Got a boatload of Switch games to play still.
Oh and I doubt the ergonomics of this will beat my split pad pro + v2 combo. It is hands down the most comfortable way to play handheld.
@DavidMac You're right, its purely cosmetic and does not add any value to gameplay at all. Fortnite does have something in its creative/sandbox mode but other than that the core gameplay gets old pretty quick.
I've been watching the daily demon uploads on the JP atlustube and just building my excitement for this game. Nice to see new sceenshots again. Those saying it looks like PS2 can go back to playing Warzone or something for all I care and we will gladly enjoy this masterpiece game. Also I am really happy to get some Filipino representation in the game. The Mananaggal demon design and animations look real sick!
Really nice tribute to a legendary comedian and person. He really did always seem like a cool guy and the persona he displayed in movies I think reflected his genuine goodness. I can especially relate to Kate when during my teen years I was forced to outgrow the Robin Williams brand of comedy since there were apparently more "cool" stuff in high school. When I became an adult though I revisited the awesome movies that I cherished as a child. Can't recall how many times I got teary eyed over Jack. Flubber and Mrs Doubtfire made me laugh so hard, and Jumanji was one of the best adventure movies made IMO. Rest easy Mr. Williams!
This will find its place. I am for sure considering this as its the cheapest gaming pc with portable power you can have. An entry level Acer Nitro or Asus TUF is twice the price of this and has more or less the same capability. I love Steam and games are reasonably priced here in our region. You have access to titles that span many console generations in this little thing.
Expected but good news nonetheless! Glad they are still supporting the hardware. Got 2k20 and 2k playgrounds on really cheap sales but I don't get to play it much these days. NBA games are always better with friends (don't get to see much of them even pre-pandemic as a married adult). Crazy how hard these games are nowadays. Even beating the AI on Rookie is quite challenging.
@the_beaver yeah might be pretty harsh on that comment but I am mostly disappointed on how the Final Fantasy games have turned out after 12. I wanted to like Bravely Default but it doesn't have quite the same charm as Chrono Trigger and FF. Gonna give NEO some love in the future too once I clear my backlog but for now Atlus got me covered in the RPG department.
Everything they've shown so far just shows how much of a masterpiece this game will be. Very tempted to get Nocturne on the MX eshop right now. At approx. $20 its a really good deal. Atlus right now is what Square Enix used to be.
P3P with remastered graphics and cutscenes, touch controls so it can be played properly. Switch is a handheld and the game was a PSP title so it makes some sense.
I got the Torna standalone used from a gamer group to try out the series and I liked it enough that I plan on getting XC2 sometime in the future. I just don't have the time for a long JRPG yet as there are tons of games in my backlog.
@TsukiDeity didn't know that physical copies of XC2 are scarce now. Retailers from where I am still have stocks of the game but the franchise isn't really known here. Looks like I gotta get it soon then.
@moodycat I would recommend Rev. 2 as it was one of my fave titles on the Xbox 360. You're forced with an AI companion if you play solo but you can swap controls between the 2 characters. It's not much of an issue compared to RE5 and the abilities of your support companions are essential to the gameplay. At $8 you should def get it. Only complain with the Switch version is the insane 23gb size it takes up on your storage which is twice that of the last gen game. Rev. 1 is ok also played it mainly because of Chris and Jill. It is quite short but undersandably so since it is a 3DS game that maxxed out the hardware at its time.
Like some others here, I'm thinking this is a misprint. My experience with cart+download games like in 2k20 and la noire is they add the files needed on top of the cart content. La noire is around 28gb on digital and physical+download is 13gb on my switch. 2k20 is 44gb on digital while physical+download takes up 30gbof storage.
@DomGC I think you get to equip multiple pins per party member later on? I saw a tutorial window in the demo indicated this. I am not sure how the combat works in this game either.
