Ubisoft may be one of the world's largest 'triple-A' publishers, but it also runs regional initiatives to find and support Indie games around the world. This is highlighted in a video above, and at the start of the short presentation development studio Toukana Interactive confirms that it plans to bring its project to Nintendo Switch.
It's called Dorfromantik, which is currently in early access on Steam where its earned plenty of positive user reviews and press coverage. YouTube isn't short of let's play videos either, so it's certainly a title with strong early momentum. The plan is for the full launch on PC later this year, with Switch (and mobile) being in the works.

You can read a bit more and see an early access trailer below.
Dorfromantik is a relaxing building strategy and puzzle game in which you place tiles to create ever-growing, idyllic village landscapes. With Dorfromantik, you can immerse yourself in a quiet, peaceful world at any time and take a break from everyday life. At the same time, Dorfromantik offers a challenge for those who are looking for one: To beat the highscore, you need to carefully plan and strategically place your tiles.

I heard very good things about this. Looking forward to it!
YAY THIS IS GOOD
WHAT OMG YESSSSS
Does look interesting. Hopefully there is enough to keep players engaged. Unfortunately 'action' tends to equate to 'violence' in all media, even when it is cartoony.
I really want this game, but the mediapartner of the dev on Reddit wrote that what they said before the ubi forward presentation was not set in stone yet. @Thomas Whitehead Have you confirmed this with the devs? That would be amazing

YEEEESSSSSSS
I played this on Steam, it’s… fine, I guess? Enjoyed the chill vibes on my first session, but then it just kind of got super boring. It was still in EA at the time, so maybe they’ve made it less boring.
I like the look of this!
This looks like a great game.
I haver It on Steam and will buy day one for Switch!
I want a game without any combat and high replayability. I may check this out on Steam. Any other recommendations? (I don't really want Animal Crossing or Cozy Grove due to the daily check-ins or time limitations.)
Almost got it on steam like a week ago. I will patiently wait for the switch version now.
@ferryb001 That's interesting, the wording in the video is pretty clear but, to be fair, it will be their second language. I'll follow up and get clarity, certainly at this moment it seems to be coming to Switch in the future but if we find out otherwise we'll be sure to share it.
This game is one of my latest addictions, it coming to Switch will basically be the end of me.
"Dorfromantik" could also be a soap opera following teen Ganondorf as he tries to woo his Vai crush.
Have this on Steam, it's fantastic for a laid-back, time waisting game. I play it when I don't have the capacity for a game that takes a lot of critical thinking. Not to say that this game is simple (derogatory), it's simple in some of the best ways. Can't wait for it on switch!
