Bought it waaaaaayyy before and played it to completion on 2 different saves. To those getting it on NSO, you're in for a treat. My fave DLC of all time (not that I have a lot though). Oh and get ready to rage a thousand times on Girl Power Station!
I could barely get through Dragon Quest XIs so I don't think I'll have the patience to start from the beginning of that series. Maybe its just not my thing. On the other hand, I've been looking to start the older mainline Shin Megami Tensei games as I really enjoyed Nocturne and V.
@coolaggro @xiao7 couldn't agree more. The designs from FFVII onwards are just screens. I can just literally ask my friend to print them for me. Some of the sprite based designs are cool though. The Minecraft and Pokemon designs are way better though. Have a few of those myself.
Fantastic news! Quite surprised by this announcement. I almost bought this on the PS4 and now am very glad I didn't. Looking forward to playing it soon!
Played through Deltarune Ch.1&2 with my daughter and had a blast with it so we decided to get Undertale as well. I know lots of fans think Undertale is better but to me it doesn't click as much as it did with Deltarune. Anyway so there's my vote for next week.
@Snatcher Glad I'm not alone in that regard. I am also a fan of the prequels for its space politics, impressive locations and dark nature in general. It also has the deepest amount of lore in all of the trilogies IMO. Really looking forward to seeing it in action in a modern LEGO game!
@jsty3105 yeah that's the thing. I feel its not as mainstream as it is on the west that's for sure. It's more like only enthusiasts actually know about E3 at least here in the Philippines. Or maybe most of my friends are just too old and I'm the only one into this gaming stuff. 😅
E3 was never a thing in this side of the world though (SEA). I only started seeing it in YouTube clips during the Xbox360/PS3 era IIRC. Not sure why a lot of people hate it though. It could be attributed to the extremely corporate nature of this event I guess.
@BloodNinja @Matty1988 Missed the civil suit part. Strange though if it is sexual harassment then it could be filed as a criminal case right? Not knowledgeable about the exact situation but yeah thanks for clarifying!
RIP and prayers to his friends and family during this difficult time. Afterlove EP was one of the games I am looking forward to from the last indie world. Got Coffee Talk on my backlog as well.
@CactusMan Yeah I think so too. Can't really get into fighting games anymore despite being a huge SF (especially the Zero/Alpha games) fan as a kid. Ultimax I am tempted to get since I love Persona's writing, characters and setting. Not sure if that is enough to get me through the gameplay though. I will surely check this one out. I heard about Dusk Diver a while back but forgot it existed since there isn't a lot of marketing for the game.
@Chocobo_Shepherd @CactusMan Encouraged to get this now. I have been looking for a game that's kinda similar to Persona 5 Strikers since I enjoyed that one a lot. Been looking at Persona 4 Ultimax but I'm not interested in fighting games anymore so this seems like a better option.
Played this a lot on the PS4 and would double dip on the Switch. Had loads of fun with my friends on the OG back in the day on PC too. To me this is the best COD along with BO2.
Installed and was about to give it a try but apparently it has IP region locking similar to what most video streaming apps do. Well not that interested anymore if its something that will require you to be always online. Not like its a competitive online multiplayer game or something.
This would be a great 3rd party title to showcase the eventual Switch successor so I sincerely hope it comes to a Nintendo system. Really enjoyed the first game so I'm pleased that a sequel is in the works.
The guy sounds like a reddit troll since it seems he knows his gaming but I can see this happening in real life though. It could happen either way, an overly insecure male or female partner gets jealous over a game or fictional material so I don't see gender bias being an issue here. I mean when I was in college I had a gf who gets jealous when I crush on an anime character or celebrity.
@twztid13 yes its $199 for the early backers then it will be $279 when they release it according to the Kickstarter page. Its their most expensive product to date afaik.
I love Genki and am very happy with my Shadowcast which I primarily use to make my work laptop an hdmi monitor. However, I don't see myself spending $200 on IEMs which does not fall under semi-pro or professional range. Great for those who have been waiting for a solid wireless option for competitive Splatoon or Smash I guess.
I would think that one of the portmasters (ie. Panic Button, Saber) pitched to do a port of this game if it is indeed coming to the platform as a non-cloud game. Interesting to see how this turns out as this game looks like a next-gen focused release.
@Mr_Fox Same feelings here. I love SRPG mechanics but usually these games, outside of combat, everything is too linear. Triangle Strategy demo was enjoyable but I don't see myself getting it because there isn't a lot to do outside of the main attraction. I've watched and read a little bit about Fire Emblem so I might try that one since there are Persona-like things to do.
EDIT: I just remembered Marvel's Midnight Suns is a game to look out for. Sounds like it will have some exploration and social links on the side to do in between battles.
Good job to the devs. I love this game and played it a lot last year. Even revisited it last week to clear up some of the isles that I skipped through. Amazing story and script. Pls go and buy this one fellas. Hope more will buy this game and we get some sort of sequel in the future. Also hands down one of the best gaming soundtracks in my book.
Ain't that bad at all. About the same size as Ys VIII and Catherine. There are other games that I hold back on due to the memory it takes up such as the RE, Bioshock and XCOM ports.
For some reason Japan seems to have been open and have avoided hard lockdowns through all this. Schools and offices remained open as well as public transport. Glad to see things are slowly getting back to how it is.
Don't care much about fighting games anymore. Not really my genre these days but its Persona and I'm here for the story and VN aspects of it. Gonna get it for my platform of choice which is the Switch.
@Alztru agree with you on the player base argument. Unfortunately there are still many who reject the f2p model. Sometimes simply giving cosmetic bonuses to those who paid ain't gonna cut it.
The wife got me a nice new phone and I've been looking for decent mobile games along the likes of Genshin. Unfortunately it's not that many. Seems like this one is gonna be good but we'll find out. Another mobile title from Square I'm interested in is FFVII Ever Crisis which I hope gets some news soon as its still set to release this year.
@UglyCasanova It doesn't require NSO right now since its technically f2p on the eshop up to a certain level. I'm sure they will give bonuses to the ones who bought it but if I were one of those I'm gonna be a little disappointed for sure.
@boxyguy you're not wrong there. We haven't received any official presence or support from the 3 console market players since like forever. Only Steam and Epic has an officially recognized regional storefront here.
Glad to be getting some kind of official presence here in the Philippines. Once we get an official eshop here, its time to say goodbye to my credit card region hopping for deals though.
I think Square should stop focusing on graphics for lower budget games. Bravely Default 2 and Octopath was considered a success right? Those were Switch focused releases too that went to other platforms at a later date. This kind of game would have done well on the Switch IMO. PS5 and XSX players expect graphical showcases which this doesn't seem to live up to (kinda stuck in PS4 era style). Still planning to get it on the PS4 on a sale someday as my good friend has high praise for it.
@gcunit I have a feeling it might have a chance to get ported at a later date. If that's the case, they might announce it on a direct or something. Hope you are right!
This is weird. Persona 5 I get why, but this game I would expect to be on the Switch. I don't think it has anything to do with hardware issues and by the early looks of it, P5 Strikers looks like a more demanding game. Well, it releases a month ahead of Xenoblade 3 so I will just wait for a sale on the PS4 store. Likely won't be able to play it as much as I would like though.
@Kage_M Didn't see those comments from Capcom but glad that its still coming. Really enjoyed 1&2, for me its the best RE games after to 4. The remakes I also enjoyed as I feel it kept the classic RE feel in a modern format.
It's far from the best subscription service with regards to its competitors but I take solace that it's not part of the "core" of the Switch ecosystem. I regularly subscribe for the base family plan for one thing which is online. On my PS4 I just feel its too expensive for the purpose of playing online. Sure there are free games but I am not interested in those. Also a lot of PS4 games are online focused which makes PS Plus sort of a core service for a Playstation console owner. Gamepass on the other hand I feel is really a core component of the Xbox ecosystem. I've planned on unsubscribing for NSO many times before but there always a game or two me and my family are needing online for. Say right now its Pokemon Sword, and previously it was Minecraft, ACNH and Splatoon.
I hope it is Revelations 3 which was rumored to be a Switch-focused title from the data hack about a year ago. Not keeping my hopes up tho since I get the impression that the RE series has been focusing on newer hardware as of late.
@anoyonmus Playing Apex feels just fine. I think it's a decent port and Panic Button did all they can to make it work on the Switch. I don't think it could be any better given the hardware and its nothing short of a miracle given the circumstances (source engine and all). I just play on handheld so the graphics don't bother me really.
@Specter_of-the_OLED Agree its gonna be a good port for sure since Saber is doing it. I don't think the delay is going to be long either since they are very proactive in optimizing for the Switch. Even WWZ is getting patches up to now I think.
The predictions are lacking new games. I expect information from the already announced ones to be condensed so they can make room for new announcements. Maybe not big Nintendo franchises aside from a couple which is likely something from Monolith and the Mario team, but I expect some 3rd party releases to make the direct interesting as well, or so I hope.
@moodycat @the_beaver I'm probably not qualified to judge XC2 yet as I've only played Torna to completion just to see if I would get into the main game. However, playing XCDE right now makes me think that the plot and characters in the XC2 world will never live up to the first game. If XC2 is just more of Malos, Mythra and Jin then I don't know if I'll be able to stand it. Still gonna get/play it after my XCDE playthrough but if XCX or XC3 is in the horizon then I might get to those first.
I have a good feeling about this. Currently playing Xenoblade DE, it has become one for my favorite games on the Switch. Really looking forward to their next project.
@Pungu I hope you are right. Maybe Japanese companies have more pride in themselves than we think. They are generally traditional and nationalistic but I may be wrong.
@Itachi2099 Funny that you mention it. 3.6B is a lotta money for a studio that has a single so-so IP to its name. I think the Sony move was a desperate attempt to reduce the bleeding effects of the MS-Activision deal. Bungie was great during their Halo days but other than that what have they done as of late?
There's never enough money for these corporations. Endless greed is what's bringing this world down. I hope that monopolization is not a trend in the gaming industry that would stick for long.
Kinda interested in Ever Crisis but the chances of a Switch port are kinda slim. At this point I'm more interested in what lies in store for Persona/SMT/Atlus and Xenoblade rather than any Final Fantasy stuff.
