Bought this at the airport on the way to portugal, took it with me along with Zelda oracle of Ages, which I played most of the time, could not get into Pokemon and haven't played one since, except Pokemon Snap and a bit of Go, just dont get it honestly

Honestly all I want is Super Mario Maker 2 (with slopes!), nothing else, but alas I think that is not gonna happen, I'm guessing it will be 30mins dedicated to the online service

What's amazing is how good quality these things are, Nintendo didn't need to make them so nice but they have really held up, I mean look back at the alternatives, those Tiger ones were just cheap platic trash. I still have the Bombsweeper and DK Multi Screen game and watches that were bought for me back in the day and I have been waitng for a sequel to Bombsweeper for 30 years!

This is a great feature of the Switch, had an Xbox360 in the past, oh my god that was a nightmare with the menus and startup screens

Looks a bit generic, characterless, nothing like punch-out characters, Konami need to hire some better artists

Hang on, is this a port of the Disk system game or the arcade game? as they are actually two different games, im guessing the arcade which ironically isn't even a vs game unlike the disk system version

@retro_player_22 Ok, it's not horrible, I understand the concave buttons, I liked them on the NES, it's just the fact that only the top two are concave (X & Y) and it just felt weird to me playing Super Mario World with the Y and B where one button (run) was concave and the other (jump) was convex

Why do so many people say use the original dock that came with the switch? I do use that dock but I want a second so I can use it on a second TV in the house as it is a real pain moving the setup I have as it involves moving a bunch of furniture to get the cables out, I just want a second dock that doesnt cost a fortune yet this dongle doesn't look trustworthy

I was born in 1980 (UK) and I have absolutely no idea who these characters are, not even heard their names before now

It looks to me like the gamma is wrong that's why the visuals look garish

This is a great controller and it's cheap, i'm not paying the asking price for a pro controller when from multiple reports the d-pad is supposed to be terrible, i'll stick to my joycons for analogue, gyro and rumble compatibility; but for 2d games this is the go to

Disapointed with the huge input lag (in portable and on a low lag plasma TV) with v.s. Super Mario Bros so don't know if i'll buy any more Hamster arcade releases

Reminds me of when the kindle became popular and everyone thought that was the death of physical books! Ridiculous claim, never gonna happen, there will always be at least limited releases of physical media in some form

Of course Retro worked on it, they created Funky Kong as a playable character so it was more than just a port, - they needed to create new animations, mechanics etc, I would be suprised if that work was handed over, the original team would likely need to be in charge to make sure the addition of Funky would fit within the game which they originally created and already knew so well

if the Japanese one features the big foot it's more likely the European art is the default and the US one was ammended

Infact looking at them both I'd say the EU one is much more balanced and the better of the two

Agree, re-reading the article it is clear the author realises it's quite likely fraudulent, so why as you say did Nintendolife even publish this story? it is a completely unnecessary and at first glance misleading article.

I once tried to play Highway Star on my Famicom (known as Rad Racer on the NES) and the game wouldn't run, just a grey screen, I took it out to blow it a couple of times and when it finally worked it jumped straight to the end credits with the guy standing outside of the car, I don't think anyone's beaten a game faster ever!

I will be buying one last N64 game for the Wii, this is the best way to play them (N64 games) I believe, higher res than the original console and better than on the Wii U which has obvious lag for example on Mario 64

Really like the Game Boy one! Bugs me slightly that the SNES one has a slightly discoloured front panel and the top is too dark (should match the eject button) but i'm being nit picky

Weird to think that Mario and Zelda games will still be produced long after we are all gone! Right now is a pretty good time for Nintendo; I'm sure there will be plenty more ups and downs for them going forward, let's enjoy the now!
