Gamers of a certain age will know all too well the thrill of amusement arcades; the glare of the screen, the unique - erm - 'smells' and the challenge of sitting down next to a potentially unknown opponent and taking them down in your favourite game. Those truly were the days.
If you're hankering for a return to that glorious era, then the 'Face-to-Face Arcade Stand for Nintendo Switch' might be up your street. It's basically a plastic shell into which you can insert two Switch consoles and four (count 'em) Joy-Con controllers. The design replicates the sit-down arcade units which were (and still are) really popular in Japan.
If the video above hasn't put you off the whole wacky idea, then you can order one of these bad boys using the link below.

One would say it is the greatest stand ever.
And they'd be right.
Ahh memories and nostalgia!...
Just buy an arcade cabinet and mod the hell out of it lol
I'm hearing pre-orders for those Arcade1Up cabinets from GameStop are pretty healthy. (They're 3/4 scale.)
As a teenager during the 80's, I don't remember sticky floors. Maybe some cig smoke here and there. I definitely do remember "quarter queues" (they'd put their quarters up on the marquee of the machine to let the current player know they wanted to play next after he was done).
Cool.
Yeah, it just isn’t useable.
The arcade cab is much better - the wooden one - I own it and whilst the controller doesn’t fit in it it’s looks but better and recreates the look of a arcade cabinet much better. You can charge in it and using it as a stand with a wireless controller it’s perfect.
Ones that force the controller to be part of it compromise the controller and it’s usefulness
I'd like to see Sega and a company like Hori make a stand based on an Astro City cabinet with built in controls, and if possible the ability to pull out and rotate the part that holds the Switch for vertical gameplay ...
...or they could bring back the Virtua Stick Pro which might be even better!
Hello, does no one realize what this is imitating? -

While the idea is ace ... it falls down on functionality.
@NintoRich It's pretty obvious if you know of it.
These are the Nintendo machines where the VS.System games come from (already have one on Switch Vs. Super Mario Bros)
@Stocksy Hi Stocksy, mind loading up a picture and provide a link? Sounds nice! Cheers
@8-Bit_Superman I saw one (it might of been a labo inspired one) that had some buttons that (i assume) jab the joycon's shoulder buttons.
Those two old Nintendo arcade machines are known as “Red Tents” in the collecting community.
I would rather just hook up an arcade stick to my Switch while it is docked and use a bigger screen to help me replicate a real arcade cabinet. The joycons make for terrible arcade controls always.

You can get different designs. I think there is a game being bundled with one in a limited edition on amazon.
@Stocksy thanks mate! I ordered the toki one. Looks nice though
Man, $73 for that thing (and that's the sale price)? I could use my 3D printer to create something very similar for a fraction of that price.
Wow, that's the most bonkers Nintendo Switch stand yet!
By the way, here's a link for you to buy it and funnel some referral-link money to us!
Nice infomercial, gents.
@mist Just make an arcade cabinet, leave the real opnes alone.
@the_shpydar If you bothered to watch the video you'd know that my view of it isn't 'ZOMGS U HAV 2 BY IT!!!', rather it's a supremely niche bit of kit that might not be worth the money. Yes, we use affiliate links for those that want to support us, but there's nothing stopping you from totally circumventing that system and buying it without supporting the site if you so wish.
@AlexOlney
Ah, i'm just taking the piss on ya, mate. All in fun.
Cheers.
