Re: Nintendo Direct Delayed Due To Powerful Earthquake in Hokkaido

NintendoPete

@Lnsx

but don't you think that these people really don't care if Nintendo shows the Direct or not? I can't believe that these affected are having video games on their minds right now.

But I could understand that Nintendo wants to show respect by not releasing the video - so basically it is fine and their right to do(actually anytime)

Re: Nintendo Direct Delayed Due To Powerful Earthquake in Hokkaido

NintendoPete

I think it is sad that people suffer from that earthquake and I wish them all the best but natural disasters happen every day around the world - so I don't see what makes this one more important to make them delay anything. Personally I don't care if the presentation is tomorrow or next week or so but I just can't understand the reasoning or connection to that specific incident.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 1st)

NintendoPete

Just finished with Messenger (100%) - great game and very captivating. If you encounter slowdowns (rarely), I found out that it is best to completely shut down your Switch and then reload the game. Slowdowns should be gone now. I wish I tried it out before. During one section I tried to get a green medal but due to slowdowns the Switch didn't want to recognize my button inputs. I took me over an hour to finally succeed.

These slowdowns happend only twice. I am not sure why. There weren't that many sprites on the screen either.

EDIT:

I also encountered two glitches. Twice I got stuck above the screen. I was able to go to the next screen until it glitched out and I had to exit the game. There was no way of returning to safe ground. Strangely, after reloading, my save file showed that I only played 6 hrs and I am pretty sure that before the glitch the counter showed morethan 13 hrs.

Re: Bethesda's Pete Hines Says Switch Game Releases Have Been A Huge Success

NintendoPete

@Orin41

There is a lot of content but optional. I played through the main story and all the DLC in 60 hours and in that time-frame I already did some sidequests. So it is actually up to you how much time you want to spend with it. I stopped playing after the main stories have finished but I can see myself to return to Skyrim because there are places I haven't yet visited.

Re: Capcom Releasing Mega Man 11 Demo In September

NintendoPete

hmm - not sure if I want to spoil myself. Currently I am playing the X Collections and I am in the middle of X6.

Have to say that I prefer the SNES games of X series. Especially X5 and 6 are too convoluted with all the armors. You barely use X's normal form. Right now, these are my least favorite games of the series. But I have never played X7 so maybe that will change. X8 is fine.

Just found out that you can switch between Megaman X and Rockman X by pressing Y when selecting a title which also changes the language to Japanese. So the English and Japanese ROMs are both included. Well that bodes well for the Japanese retail version.

Re: Review: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 (Switch eShop)

NintendoPete

@Rayquaza2510
Well, how do I phrase it - the download version also states that all the languages are supported which is true for the menu. But in language settings it states that even though you switch to German, Italian or whatsoever the in-game texts won't change and remains English. Your link doesn't say anything about the language of in-game texts. So I have really doubts for the Japanese release to have English texts.

Re: Review: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 (Switch eShop)

NintendoPete

@FX102A

Absolutely. I mean, why wouldn't be there the option to toggle between Japanese and English versions in the international release as well. They did it with the first legacy collections but this time you can choose between many languages for the menu but not in-game texts which remain in English. So I highly doubt that the Japanese versions have English texts but I wouldn't mind being wrong.

Re: Nintendo's "Illegal" Pre-Order System Issue Has Been Passed On To German Authorities

NintendoPete

@Henmii
sometimes it does make sense to pre order downloads. I pre-order the digital versions of Megaman X Collections to pre download it, because I will be on vacation when they get released. And in order to play the collections on vacation, I have to download it now, because I don't know how fast the download speed will be, but I am pretty sure that it will be fast enough to check if I can play it.

Re: Nintendo Hasn't Revealed Its Full 2018 Lineup, Says Outgoing President Tatsumi Kimishima

NintendoPete

I am already looking forward to enough games that keep me occupied throughout 2018 (Megaman X collections, Megaman 11, Wolfenstein, Smash) - but I can imagine that this year Nintendo is showing some kind of direct around Gamescom to highlight some games like the Gunvolt Spin Off with Copen, the Messenger which both are also on my list.
So in my opinion, last year and this year were great for Nintendo only players.

Re: Team Cherry Are “Working” On Making A Hollow Knight Physical Release Happen

NintendoPete

@zool
Good priced? In my opinion, they could have charged 50€ easily. It has a lot of content , very high production value. Compared to Metroid games which cost 40 - 50 € you have a much deeper experience here. I am almost done with the game, but have already played for more thaN 32 hours. Before I am going to beat the boss I would like to find a couple of power ups thus you can add a few hours. Quite meaty for a 15€ game. And also very well done.

Re: Review: Hollow Knight (Switch eShop)

NintendoPete

@Expa0
you should - like many others here, I am really hooked and find myself having problems to stop playing. It is just that good. I usually do not buy indie games but this one really doesn't feel like one. And it has a lot of content.

Personally, for me it is 10/10 - in my opinion a better crafted Metroid-like game than Metroid Returns on the 3DS which was also good but not that good in comparison.

Re: Review: Fortnite (Switch eShop)

NintendoPete

@Dizzy_Boy
same here - it is very slow paced and without gyro controls - it is clunky. Doom became so much better after adding gyro - but in contrast to Fortnite it has always been fast.

I think Fortnite is already deleted on my system or is going to be.

Re: Video: Mega Man 11 Will Blast Onto Nintendo Switch On 2nd October (And You Can Pre-Order It Right Now)

NintendoPete

@mauhlin12
It is actually easier to farm bolts at cloud man's stage destroying the small birds from the big egg. That way you get 999 bolts in no time.

Again, I have to defeat all robot masters again and again but I think Wily is easier this time around - well, at least the first version. I only tried the second form once with barely any health left.

Even though I played through all games before, I didn't remember much of 8 and 7 as well as 9 and 10. this time I am playing through 9 and 10 with Megaman and Protoman/Bass

Re: Video: Mega Man 11 Will Blast Onto Nintendo Switch On 2nd October (And You Can Pre-Order It Right Now)

NintendoPete

@mauhlin12
Good for you. Megaman is also my favorite Serie but I live in Germany so getting the amiibo is unfortunately not an option.

Btw: I finally beat Megaman 7 but I created a checkpoint after the 8 robot masters. After I don't know how many tries I lost patience. And even then it took me a lot of lives to get the timing of Wily's last incarnation right to beat him. But when I did get it right it felt great. I am currently at the Wily stages in 8. But I have to say that I prefer the 8 - bit graphics

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I'm playing Megaman Legacy Collection 1+2 - just have to finish 6 before moving on to the next collection. I'd never understood why so many dislike 5 and 6 - I still think they are great! Especially 6 offers something new with Rush Jet and Power. 5' end boss was actually one of the most difficult of all of the NES entries.
