Mega Man 11 is shaping up to be something special with its new-gen style yet seemingly respectful take on the series. It’s due out on the Switch this October, but before then, a demo of the game will apparently be made available.
The "Mega Man 11 Demo Version" is currently listed for 4th September, with the Switch equivalent reportedly due out around the same time. According to the source, it will allow players to experience all types of enemies and traps in the Block Man Stage and test out the new Double Gear system which can slow down time or power-up shots.
If you’re on the fence about this release, perhaps the demo will help you decide whether you want the game before its arrival on 2nd October. Tell us in the comments if you’re excited about the new Mega Man.

I think I’ll try it out. Can’t go wrong with a demo.
Nice! I cant wait for this game!
Big fan of these kinda games.
Had no idea this was out so soon. Right on time for my birthday too. Hope it's good.
Posted about this in the thread earlier! Got the amiibo edition preordered from GameStop. Thrilled to try the demo! I have very high expectations. This will finally put to rest the colossal disappointment that was Mighty No. 9.
Side note:
The FighterZ beta went live with broken servers. As far as I know, no one can play it. Unsure if NL covers things like this, but I thought I'd share. @Liam_Doolan
@Redax The system is multi-region stop being an idiot. We've waited our whoel lives for this and still people moan it's not specifically in their region. There are lots of shops in Europe selling the physical American release.
I think i'm going to wait, so that i get that full new Mega Man hit. it's been a long time.
@JTMnM I tried it last night and it just said this game is not available yet.
@YANDMAN
I'm going to skip the demo, as I got my fill playing it at Capcom's booth at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. It feels great!
I've already pre-ordered it but who could resist playing the demo
@JTMnM Thanks for the heads up.
hmm - not sure if I want to spoil myself. Currently I am playing the X Collections and I am in the middle of X6.
Have to say that I prefer the SNES games of X series. Especially X5 and 6 are too convoluted with all the armors. You barely use X's normal form. Right now, these are my least favorite games of the series. But I have never played X7 so maybe that will change. X8 is fine.
Amiibo Edition is preordered, but the sooner a demo... the better! I’d love to try it ASAP.
MHGU demo? is that hiding on the eshop somewhere?
I'm fully ready for a demo. Every games need a demo. I think it's the base.
Cool! Was on the fence with this one so this will help tip the scales.
Happy to have a demo for this. I love the NES Mega Man games (and 9 & 10), but never cared for the X series, or 7 and 8. I'm wary of the changes shown in 11, but will definitely try the demo with an open mind.
I like it
@DockEllisD I agree with you but I can also see why a lot of devs don't necessarily take the time to make demos. I imagine that they're spending so much time making the game and to spend additional time and resources on a demo that's supposed to represent the final game could be seen as time better spent on making the game itself.
On top of that there's also a chance that the demo could be a lot weaker than the final game or satiate people's desire to buy the full game. I know anecdotally there are a few people on this site who were turned off of buying sushi striker because of the demo. Heck even I skipped buying Slime-san because I played the demo and didn't like it that much.
From a consumer point of view it's great to have demos but I can understand a bit as to why not a lot of devs do demos anymore.
Getting it on Switch one way or another. But great to have a demo.
@Oat could do like sega is doing and just the opening of the game. Let you transfer the save over. So just the part of the game already done.
But yeah, even then risky... As it could be the less exciting part. I like demos, but usually buying it anyway. Just want to see how it runs/looks. Sort of a PC mentality.
I "may" give the demo a go (typically I play demos), but it's a foregone conclusion that I'll be playing MM11 regardless. I just don't want to feel slighted if I play the demo and I'm allowed to beat Block Man-- Hopefully you won't get to.
As far as demos in general are concerned, @NintendoFan4Lyf and @DockEllisD, I agree that every game should have a demo so we don't suffer from "buyburn", and so glad there's been far more on Switch than previous Nintendo systems-- Money and time are too precious with all these Switch games.
@Agramonte I have that mentality as well. I love being able to try demos in order to make an informed decision. It's just that the more I thought about it from a dev perspective the more I kinda understood why demos have more or less faded away
