@mariomaster96 I am surprised that screenshot was released, since with water that reflective, and a girl wearing a dress like that... you'd normally see her panties x3
My girlfriend is apparently older than the SNES... she was born in 1986, meanwhile I was born in 1995. I can't imagine how it must feel to be older than the SNES... I also cannot believe that thing released 30 years ago today in America. Such a wonderful console that lead to many more consoles and even games down the road.
Stuff like this really makes me wish Nintendo would embrace the modding community instead of hating on them. I don't want to hack my Nintendo Switch or Wii U at all, and I don't want to risk my PC in regards to downloading a mod of the game. (I don't know how to rip the ROM from the Nintendo Switch cartidge either), so... I am stuck with just watching stuff like this, and having no way to play it.
Ah well... a girl can dream about a day that Nintendo might embrace modders.
@jingounchained I would love to see a sort of RPG that takes place on Wuhu Island, and would require the player to at least "master" one of the physical minigames in a manner of speaking for combat. Like archery, swordplay, or boxing... and transportation could be done via biking or jogging (sorta like Ring Fit Adventure)
@Jey887 This! I always try to keep my expectations low, because I never want to be disappointed, and because of that I have enjoyed games that most people have hated... I don't like Sticker Star, but I did enjoy Colour Splash and Origami King to a moderate extent, and I also am still loving Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Looking forward to seeing this info. I am going to try to pick this game up day-one. I really do like open-world games, and I just realized this... if everything goes according to Nintendo's current plan we'll get Legends Arceus in January 2022, and then Breath of the Wild 2 in late 2022... Two major open-world games in 2022 on the Nintendo Switch.
@BloodNinja I look forward to the day I get to look elderly... that way I can do my best to look like a wise old female sage. :3c TBH the elderly looking characters in most anime are usually the most badass, while being really wise.
@VoidofLight My island isn't that well developed, and is pretty bare bones compared to a lot of the other well designed islands. I talk to my villagers a lot, and actually do a lot of bug catching and fishing. So I tend to enjoy the life sim aspect of New Horizons as much as I enjoyed the life sim aspect of previous Animal Crossing games. TBH I have never been that good at decorating or design of my towns/island in Animal Crossing games.
My town in New Leaf wasn't masterfully decorated with patterns/unique areas throughout the town... it was mainly a ***** ton of flowers that randomly spawned, and a bunch of trees with no rhyme or reason... with a few public works projects littered around the town. Same pretty much goes for my NH island, besides for the flowers... I try to keep those better under control. TBH my younger brother had a island that was like a trillion times more well designed than mine currently is and probably ever will be.
So don't compare me to those "design only" players... I enjoy the design aspect of the game, but I don't find that as fun as the sim aspect of the game. I talk to my villagers, and I don't mind if they repeat the same stuff to me... probably because people do that to me all the damn time in real life that I have become super numb to it. Also I tend to think of each of my villagers as people in their own little universe, and never think about the "technical" aspect of the game. Sorta like someone who knows that the life we live is a simulation, but comes back to this ***** simulation, just to enjoy it and ***** off for a while.
So in short... ACNH is a fun game to me, and it isn't just on a design level, but on a life sim level as well.
@Heavyarms55 I have to agree completely. I can maybe see Game Stop staying afloat as a "online only" store front, where people can buy the games through their website, and have them shipped that way.
I mean if it is one of the few ways for someone to get a physical copy without having to order through Walmart/Amazon, then it might be a decent alternative. There are quite a few people who are starting to wake up and realize how crappy Walmart/Amazon really are (especially Amazon). So I wouldn't be too surprised if a change to a online only storefront does some good for Game Stop in the long haul.
@Silly_G that is what I am wondering as well... I may live in the US, but I visited Australia back in October of 2018, and I remember seeing EB Games there, so when I saw this article I began to wonder if the EB Games in Australia could be rebranded soon to Game Stop as well.
@Dingelhopper I have played every iteration of Animal Crossing for thousands of hours each, and I have to say... I am still enjoying New Horizons as much as I did when it first came out. Don't make broad generalizations like, "Anyone who has played previous iterations in the series would never defend ACNH at all" because I having played each AC game starting with Wild World.... and then gone back to the GC one in like '08... just proves you wrong about that statement.
I loved New Leaf a heck of a lot, and still do... I loved ACCF a lot as well, and Wild World, and the GC AC. Each game has deep rooted memories for me, and New Horizons is no different. I enjoy New Horizons right now, mostly in part because it is one of the few life sims that me and my girlfriend play together (I live in the US and she lives in Switzerland) so getting to hang out on each other's islands is just wonderful.
The item placement outside is something I have been wanting since the Wild World and City Folk days... I have constantly thought that was the weakest point in every game before New Horizons. Finally an AC game that I can decorate to my heart's extent.
I do admit there is a heavy lack of actual mini-games and villager dialogue is a tad weak. But I just enjoy the game one moment at a time. I never rushed through it, never time traveled, and have barely traded with other players, and I am still enjoying the game a hell of a lot.
any idea if the "missing villager' glitch has been fixed? And if Nintendo has added back in the ability for the villagers to wander around the Museum again?
I am looking forward to these games, as I have been wanting to replay the Gen 4 Pokemon games, but I don't have a working 3DS, nor the money to get one right now... so the remakes of the Gen 4 games are an awesome thing for me right now. I can only pirate them right now in order to play them...
@JasmineDragon Same here. The devs should definitely have thought more about us left-handed gamers... heck Link prior to Skyward Sword USED TO BE LEFT-HANDED!
@Hughesy there was no way to change it to left-handed mode. At least there was no actual option titled, "Left-handed Mode" or "Mirror mode" or something of the like. I never beat Skyward Sword, because I am not used to holding the Wiimote in my right hand... I always held it in my left hand when playing other games like Wii Sports, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Super Paper Mario, etc... Skyward Sword was literally the first game that FORCED me to try to hold the Wiimote in my right hand.
@Synecdoche as an American myself as well... I don't keep my shoes on in the house/apartment/whatever either. If I live there I ain't wearing my shoes all day. I'll only wear them if I need to (like if I need to mop the floor, then sure to make sure I don't slip I might put on some clean shoes, but other than that... I never wear shoes in the house. The closest I get is slippers, and that is very rare as well.)
Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is still the only game I play daily, and I have never felt right deleting the newest Animal Crossing game from whatever console it releases on... and right now that is Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch. I know a lot of people right now have stopped playing it as much, but I have only taken a weeklong break once, and that was back in early August of last year. After I returned from that break I continued to play the game daily. Animal Crossing is, and probably always will be, my favourite game series.
I wonder what the area that the Shrine of Resurrection was located at is going to look like in the sequel. They have to at least show the door closed in the sequel... making it the only Sheikah structure that cannot be removed, since it is the only Sheikah structure built into the wall of a cliff.
Nintendo is probably the only company that would probably make a VR headset that isn't $600+ or something. I have always wanted to give VR a try, but as of right now I cannot afford a headset. i love watching videos of VR games, but I can never justify a purchase of a new gaming console/device unless it is $200 to $300, and that is once every couple of years (so roughly as often as Nintendo releases a new system).
So in short, yeah I probably would give Nintendo VR games a try. Always been wanting to get into VR myself, but never could.
@Bentendo1609 I am looking at the main foyer in the Museum right now, and there is no roped off entrance there. Or are you talking about a roped off door in one of the exhibits?
as I never have payed attention to anything other than Nintendo at E3, I will only say that I am only excited to see what Nintendo will reveal at E3 this year.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi tbh PETA at this point is nothing more than a joke. I never take anything they say seriously, and I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian who cares about animal rights. PETA is just full of greedy-ass hypocrites who don't really give a crap about animal rights
I do wonder if this update fixed a possible glitch, where your villagers wouldn't visit the Museum, and instead just vanish from the island entirely from time-to-time.
@beepboop368 yeah makes leaving a dream far easier, especially if someone's island is really heavily decorated and you don't want to trudge through a majority of their island just to wake up.
I am really looking forward to this game's release. It seems to be a really visually pleasing Pokemon game (then again so was the original).
I cannot wait to take a ton of pictures of various Pokemon in this game. Hopefully the sales will be good enough that The Pokemon Company ends up seeing a reason to make more games in the Pokemon Snap series.
I am currently downloading this game onto my Nintendo Switch, and I am looking forward to testing my patience with this game. I usually believe I have a lot of patience, so... this shall be a great game.
Couldn't get into Tetris 99 or Mario 35, but this I am really into. I have so far spent a while playing this game (definitely more than hour), and I am loving every second of this game. <3
@BloodNinja LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU THERE IS A GANGAR! (oh god I knew this abandoned insane asylum was haunted, but I didn't know it was THIS haunted... so many ghost... Pokemon.)
Sees a Bayonette appear out of no where and try to scare the living ***** out of me
Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I am currently in the process of de-New Leaf-ifying my entire island, so I have a lot of work left to do until I get my island to look the way I want. Besides that... I dunno what I will be playing this weekend.
@SirPrimalform yeah I know it is weird, but it is something I had to deal with. Just doesn't make me feel comfortable with playing it for more than 20 minute play sessions (because of how uncomfortable it feels to me).
@SirPrimalform I couldn't get Link to swing his sword accurately without having to hold the Wiimote in my right hand. Like I'd have to really stretch my left arm so far out just to get him to do a horizontal strike (from right-to-left). And I always recallibrated my Wiimote before playing, but it just wouldn't read accurately, so I was forced to hold my Wiimote in my right hand which again felt really wrong to me.
@JHDK thanks, and yeah. I really wish the devs implemented a left-handed mode back then.
Whenever I played Wii Sports (Resort and Original), AC:CF, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, among other Wiimote games... I always held the Wiimote in my left hand, so... Skyward Sword felt like the devs yelling at me, "YOU ARE A BLOODY MORON FOR HOLDING THE WIIMOTE IN YOUR LEFT-HAND ALL OF THESE DAMN YEARS! WHAT ARE YOU STUPID?! HOLD IT IN YOUR GODDAMN RIGHT HAND LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING!"
So I ended up growing to HATE Skyward Sword within 8 hours of playing the game (over different play sessions... I could never play the game for more than 20 minutes before the awkwardness of holding the Wiimote in my right hand just got to be too much)
as a left-handed person who was too used to holding the Wiimote in my left-hand whenever I played other Wii games... I think I will stick to button controls with this Zelda game.
I tried SS on the Wii, when it came out... could never get around the bloody annoying feeling of how wrong it felt to hold a Wiimote in my right hand. So I never really could get immorsed in the game back then.
