Do you fancy playing a battle royale game featuring trigger-happy tigers and murderous monkeys? If that sounds like your thing, then Super Animal Royale might be the game for you. Modus Games and Pixile Studios have announced that it will be coming to Switch later this year.

Super Animal Royale is a battle royale with a zoological twist. Play as your favorite cuddly, genetically modified animal picked from 300+ breeds, find your style with 600+ cosmetic items, and jump off the back of a Giant Eagle and into a 64-player fight to the death! You’ll fire shotguns and sparrows, toss grenades and bananas, ride emus and hamster balls all the way to the top of the food chain. The explosive top-down action pairs perfectly with an expressive flat-design style, and the innovative fog-of-war-system enables a game that’s as deep and strategic as it is fun and accessible.

Sweet, this game is actually kinda fun.
I've played it a few times on steam and it's decent.
A bit too late in terms of the popularity, but fun to see a 2D take on this.
Then again maybe people are ready for a 2D version as a bit of a break.

This Animal Crossing May update is...interesting...
This isn't the Dark Souls of Animal Crossing I was looking for, but the Fortnite of Animal Crossing is fine too.

The genre for anything Battle Royale is just endless. I do wonder though. Because there's so many and there's no sign of it slowing down...will there ever come a time where there's just too many Battle Royales but not enough players? I mean there's so many choices with different player limits ranging now from 35 - 100 and anything in between. And don't even get me started on all the different platforms to play them on. Especially how many are not all cross play enabled. I understand online gaming has grown so huge and basically the norm but still. I feel like every few months there's a new one being advertised and along with a "New/Next Season" of a current one that it gets me thinking will there ever just not be enough players for these games.
Nothing will ever dethrone Fortnite though. It's just too big. Just like the clones can't ever touch Pokémon. For better or worse, the OG will always reign with these kind of things.
If Happy Tree Friends was a game...I now need to watch that again, it's been too long.
Coming to all platforms and has crossplay. This is the way.
