Can someone answer this for me because I am confused, is Cadence of Hyrule a standalone game? So I don't need CoN to play it?

He's very wrong/misguided. Look at how well the Crash/Spyro re-releases sold. There is definitely an appetite for classic 3D platformers. It annoys me that he says 'it won't sell' when the actual evidence suggests that it would sell very well indeed.

This deal is getting worse all the time! The amiibo functionality was one of the best features!

And nothing of value was lost. The game played fine with normal controls back on GC, and I'm sure it plays just as fine now.

Where are the themes and folders? Why no icons from Fire Emblem etc? Why can't basic features be implemented after two years?

@tatundria oh for god's sake, I knew someone was going to bring this up. Would you people stop rattling on about this as if it's actually a big deal? I played this game countless times on PSX and even more times on tablet/PS4. I didn't even notice this was an issue until people like you started making it an issue.

And do you know why I didn't notice this was an issue? Because like most games of the era; THE MUSIC LOOPS REPEATEDLY ANYWAYS. If you download the soundtrack you'll notice most of the tracks are only the same few sequences repeated over and over. And I say that as someone who loves the music in this game.

@Marios-love-child it's disappointing because most of us here played these games on Wii U 5+years ago and yet Nintendo is diverting it's limited resources to re-releasing these same games. Resources that could instead be spent on something new.

I just don't see why this game exists. I played it on DS, I had no desire to play it again on 3DS, especially when there is no 3D? Pretty much done with 3DS tbh, might play it from time to time and will probably pick up Detective Pikachu closer to when the movie comes out.

Used to love themes on my 3DS. Why don't we have Switch themes yet!?!?!?!? Makes zero sense.

The headline 'Nintendo reconfirms switch release window for Metroid' is TERRIBLY misleading and of shockingly poor journalistic standard. Protip Ryan; 'TBA' isn't a confirmed release window. If they had said '2022' now THAT would be a confirmed release window. 'TBA' isn't.

Please edit the headline because it is very misleading and I came in here thinking Nintendo had actually confirmed some kind of vague release window for Metroid, which they haven't. Poor, clickbait journalism that is more belonging on Buzzfeed.

It's been years since I've seen a cheater in a multiplayer game - I think the last time I remember was in Metroid Prime Hunters. So either Nintendo has been doing a good job, or that people just aren't really interested in cheating anymore.

Would love a third in the series after that cliffhanger ending! Also wouldn't mind it being on 3DS, the 3D was amazing in both games.

@UmbreonsPapa that picture is supposedly a prototype from when they were trying to get the film greenlit, and when they wanted Chris Pratt for a key role. Sonic doesn't look too bad here, but clearly the design in already very different from the current silhouette we've seen.

This is literally one of the dumbest business decisions Nintendo has ever made. The Switch and NES/SNES Classics appeal to completely different types of consumer. Protip; the kind of person who would spend £80 on a microconsole isn't suddenly going to shell up £280+ just to play a limited number of NES/SNES games on Switch.

One is a 'toy' and one is a full gaming console. There is no downside to you producing both.

I'm not normally one to shout 'why is this news!' but seriously, why is this news!? Was anyone actually expecting a Nintendo employee to go on record and say 'actually nah you don't need this'.

Also the 'we love suprises!' line is worrying. Piranha Plant was a 'suprise' that no one wanted or would miss if it wasn't a character. If Goomba and other generic enemies show up as 'suprises' well...Nintendo is obviously oblivious to what their fans actually want.

Errrr what? Loot grind? 'Grind' is synonymous with dull, repetitive gameplay. Why are you using that would to describe your game? And why is the game designed around 'we want you to play the same levels over and over until you collect everything'?

This has put me right off. I'd rather a well crafted story with rewarding cutscenes than a 'loot grind'.
