@riChchestM The only thing you get 'day zero' as you call it, are a few chests. The extra content, the bulk of the pack, comes at a much later day. This was clear in the original announcement.

Also, you know, playing games like Just Dance or 1-2 Switch where you're moving around. In Just Dance you sometimes have to swing your hand behind your back. No good if the control randomly cuts out. Or if you're at a party (as shown in adverts) and someone might walk in front of you. My PS4 control doesn't cut out when someone walks in front of me so why should this.

Stop making excuses. Nintendo isn't your buddy and you should hold them to higher standards.

@gcunit Do you hear yourself? Have you seen the Switch adverts? Do you know what the console is? The Switch is advertised as a console that you can play in a variety of different environments. Except you can't, because the console loses connection when you move a hand in front of it. Explain to me why that is acceptable, instead of just spewing sarcasm.

@TbobB I've not seen a Switch advert yet, and I spent quite a lot of time watching popular channel's like Sky1/Atlantic, Comedy Central, 4/E4. Bit disappointing, really.

All of my friends are massive Nintendo fans, but none of us are getting Switch's at launch. I think that really says something about how Nintendo has marketed the system. We're all getting Zelda Wii U, and still battling/trading in Pokemon.

Switch is going to be in for a tough time in the UK, especially if they keep their marketing at zero. Works for me, though, because hopefully by Christmas retailers will be offering discounts/bundles, which was when I was plannign on picking one up anyway.

@ollyander I've been playing FE Heroes for about two hours a day every day since launch, and so far it's only used 14.06mb of data, so I doubt it's this game that used up your plan!

@Arehexes I am waiting until the console comes out. Maybe forever, to be honest. Do you listen to yourself though? A television is a 'closed system' but they still list all the specs and features. If I want to buy a toaster I want to know all the details of said toaster. If I want to buy digital watch I want to know all the details of said digital watch. Implying that wanting to know the full details of something before you spend your money on it makes you an 'entitled consumer' is just moronic. Continue getting ripped off if you please let me, but I LIKE MANY OTHER CONSUMERS like to make an informed decision about my purchases.

lol. Gonna stop you right there, pal. Consumers are most definitely entitled to know the FULL details about the product they are spending $300 dollars on. How else can a consumer make an informed decision about whether a product is worth their hard earned money?

Nintendo isn't your friend. Remember this. All they want is your money. The reason they aren't giving these details freely is because most of them don't paint the Switch in a good way.

Enjoyed the second one when I got it with Humble Bundle. Looking forward to this so hope they push forward with it

@3MonthBeef Wow, that is the most stupid analogy I've ever seen. Nintendo is a public multinational corporation trying to sell a $300 device. As a consumer you have the right to know what exactly you're spending your money on so you can make an informed decision on your purchase. Nintendo withholding this information is an anti-consumer move which is why people seek out and leak such info.

Comparing this to an individual having their personal data stolen is just...I don't think NL would let me use the word to describe this.

Aside, KH3D was great on 3DS, a real showcase for the system imo. Not sure I'd really wanna replay it on Ps4, though. At least not for the £40 they want for 2.8. Might pick up 1.5-2.5 in March though.

@AlexSora89 PS4 is waaay cheaper than Switch, though, and it's guaranteed to get KH3 plus the remaster. As a huge KH fan a Ps4 is a more sensible and cheaper purchase.

@NintyNate specs and horsepower don't only effect graphics. They also effect gameplay. That's why you see huge framerate dips in games like Hyrule Warriors Legends; the console just isn't capable of processing the amount of on screen action.

@Smug43 a) it's not impossible. Nintendo employs thousands of people worldwide. b) why would they visit developers? Nintendo invited devs to behind closed door events. Also conference calls are a thing.

@Rumncoke25 because the Switch is a cool concept. And truly, it is. Anyone can see that, even third part devs. It just doesn't have the necessary power for them to port games without compromising their artistic vision.

@Smug43 Prove it. Give me one source that proves devs aren't aware that Nintendo has fixed Wii U's issues. Nintendo has shown and explained Switch to developers, which is why we've had so many praise the system.

The problem is that the Switch is just too weak to handle the games that these devs want to put out. Even if they like the system, why should they have to compromise their artistic vision just to run on the Switch?

@FGPackers the two games aren't really comparable. They are different types of racer that offer a different experience from one another. It would be great if we could have both games but it seems Nintendo opted not to make a device capable of running modern games.

I think Nintendo really dropped the ball here. AAA third party support is going to be very slim on the Switch.

@Kage_88 there are still magazines for the other two systems, plus plenty of other general magazines. You can act snarky as much as you want, but the fact is that for the past five years there hasn't been enough Nintendo games/news to fill a magazine every month.

@FragRed The PS4 was marketed well, and they took advantage of all the missteps that Microsoft was making. Yes it was marketed as a games machines first, but as far as I'm aware there weren't any interviews where the CEO openly admitted that the PS4 lacked basic features. It had all the standard entertainment applications at launch - as consumers rightfully expect - hence they were able to focus advertising on games.

Lacking features is never a good thing, and missing this features is only going to hurt Switch. People are going to compare it too a tablet, that is unavoidable, and there is no reason at all why it can't have basic features alongside the games. None.

@FragRed But it IS a tablet. No matter how much they try and distance themselves, the Switch is literally a tablet which you can plug into the TV. That is how joe public is going to view it so have so many basic features missing is really going to hurt it's mass-market appeal.

Well said! It is often secondary features which really convince consumers to purchase. PS4, for example, is a great blu-ray/media centre which also plays great games. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

What do you mean, Nintendo, when you say you aren't ready to announce anything about the eShop at this time? The system comes out in less than a month!

And the lack of a web browser is beyond pathetic. I mean, the web browsers on Nintendo systems have always been trash, but the Switch is basically a tablet. If I'm using it in handheld mode I don't want to have to get out another device just to look up say, a game walkthrough.

And please, people, stop trying to defend this. There is NO reason why Switch can't have a web browser for launch, as their previous ones have not even been developed in-house. Please have higher standards of what you expect for your hard-earned cash.

@CGSasuke to be fair there isn't actually much Nintendo news and hasn't been since the Wii.

I used to love the days when there would actually be enough content to fill up Nintendo-focused magazine's with. You know, back when there was actually games to write about and news to report on.

Nintendo is so clamshell these days. I was genuinly sad when the last issues of ONM was published. So many memories of N64 magazine, CUBE, NOM...it's Nintendo's fault all these publications when down because Nintendo just doesn't do enough these days to make a solo mag justifiable.

It really shows just how much market share Nintendo has lost since the GC days.

I tried the demo out and thought it look great on 3DS, especially with the 3D on max. I'm tempted to double dip, but with March being quite a heavy month (Zelda, Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 HD and Sonic Mania collectors edition) I think I'll hold onto my money for now.

Thought it would have charted higher, though. Probably something to do with the complete lack of advertising which seems to hold back most Nintendo games.

I just wish Nintendo could give a straight, honest answer for once. Being as vague as they are has never done them any favours.

Wii cost £180 and included game, Switch costs £280 and includes no game. Wii could get a free game bundled with a controller, Switch you cannot get free game bundled with controller.

I think that tells you enough about whether Kimishima's expectations are achievable or not.

Probably for the best. I don't think this was ever going to be the game that changed the Wii U's fortune.

So I shouldn't bother with the Switch and instead just wait for a more powerful handheld that won't bother with all the gimmicks? Gotcha.

People are willingly deluding themselves if they think this the Japanese price is going to be directly converted to pound/dollars. It doesn't work that way for any other Nintendo products (Switch included) so why would that be the case here?

@NEStalgia you're assuming that everybody has decent wifi. Those with cheaper plans (or who live in rural areas) will experience more lag and connection drops the more devices they have connected. In my old home, I used to have to disconnect my phone/3DS from the router if I wished to stream Netflix etc.

This is another 'hidden' cost of owning a Switch; you better have enough bandwidth to handle two devices connecting otherwise no online for you, pal.

@banacheck indie games are great but sometimes it's nice to play something with high production values. Large, good quality TVs are cheaper than ever and it's nice to play games with impressive and detailed graphics. Look at games like Star Wars Battlefront (which I doubt we'll get on Switch), that game has beautiful visuals that bring the world to life. Would be nice to play things like that on Switch but unfortunately it's not powerful enough.

This doesn't prove anything, Kimishima. I'll wait until these 100 games are actually on store shelves. Which they probably won't be, because I'm guessing a large portion of these are indie games.

Nintendo would have sold more NES Mini's if there were more NES Mini's to buy. Nintendo would have sold more 3DS + Sun/Moon bundles if there were more 3DS + Sun/Moon bundles to buy. Same old story with Nintendo, if I were an investor I'd be pretty annoyed.

Pokemon is clearly the bread winner here. If the Pokemon Stars rumour turns out to be false, I'd seriously begin to question Nintendo's judgement.

Shame they've not done anything to curtail the number of stupid trades on GTS. Was looking for a Pikachu the other day and every single option was for a level 100 legendary.

@remag a quick look on eBay tells me that second hand PS4s sell for £170-180. That's a better deal than getting half off at GAME. GAME are con-artists, everyone knows this.

As for your other comment...where to start! Flawed thinking. Joy-Con, while it CAN be used as two controllers, one half of it isn't a full controller on its own. So no, you aren't getting two full controllers, you're getting one full controller that can be split in half, giving half of full functionality to each player. Pro controller is still £20+ more expensive than other controllers. And don't say 'but think of of all the features!!!11' PS4 controller has extra features too and they don't charge you £60+ for it.

As for your comment 'people are forgetting its Nintendo, they will have plenty up they're sleeves to come yet' yeah alright pal that's EXACTLY what people said about Wii U. Every E3 people were expecting new Metroid, new F-Zero etc and Nintendo never followed through. Don't get your hopes up that Switch is going to be any different.
