Re: Detective Pikachu Star Doesn't Seem To Think A Second Movie Will Happen

Mogster

I don't think a direct sequel would work storywise, but I would like Detective Pikachu to be the start of a 'Pokemon Cinematic Universe' comprised of several standalone yet interconnected films.

The next film could be a gym challenge story, the one after that about Lugia/Ho-Oh etc etc. Perhaps leading up to a film where the characters eventually come together (like Avengers, but also NOT like Avengers) to battle Team Rocket or something.

Re: Feature: So, What Happened To Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Mogster

@Crockin this is it, really. If you are doing an 'All-Stars' trilogy, G2 doesn't really have a place. Each of these games is groundbreaking in their own way, G2 is more of Galaxy but not as good. Equally, I wouldn't expect SM64 2 or Sunshine 2 to be in this collection (if they existed that is)

Re: Where To Pre-Order Super Mario 3D All-Stars On Nintendo Switch

Mogster

@Ashunera84 mate, no, you are so of base with this. The 'devaluing' thing is only relevant to current games that are freely available. Can you find new copies of 64, Sunshine and Galaxy sold by Nintendo or retailers? No - the only copies are from eBay. You really think Nintendo cares about 'devaluing' games that they no longer produce and are only available on eBay?

Re: Nintendo Has "No Plans" To Release A New Switch Model This Year

Mogster

I'm sorry but why would anyone believe Nintendo on this? They say the same thing every time there are rumours of a new console, and a month or two later they always end up announcing one anyway.

I get not believing rumours, but it's hardly like Nintendo themselves can be trusted either.

Re: UK Retailer GAME To Close 40 Stores In "Rationalisation Programme"

Mogster

Last time I set foot in a GAME was three years ago. Was looking at a PS4 bundle online - the advert said 'available online and in-store'. Went to local store, saw an ad displaying the bundle, spoke to staff who said 'yeah we have it' and told me to join the twenty minute long queue.

Got to front of queue, staff said out of stock. I said but the guy over there said you have it. Manager came out, not apologetic at all, and said something like 'we don't actually do that bundle here, when it says available in-store it doesn't mean all stores.' I pointed to the in-store ad advertising the bundle. He says 'yeah but that doesn't mean in this particular store'. I sighed.

Worst part is, he then told me that they had the parts of the bundle in-stock and I could buy the items individually to form the bundle - which came out at like £50 more expensive. I told him to f-off. GAME always have been an absolute joke and the company deserves to die.

Re: Guide: How Long Is Pokémon Sword And Shield? And Other Pokémon Sword And Shield Questions Answered

Mogster

@dartmonkey

'The nitty gritty of the whole debacle isn’t appropriate in the context of this guide.'

Then why mention Dexit or the outrage at all? Why do these sections remain in the guide if they aren't appropriate? The fact you think that legimate arguments against the games are' bile and negativity' is very telling of your utter lack of journalistic standards. Why don't you actual act like journalists and look into the lies GF has told? Research into the current situation at GF?

You are a major Nintendo outlet. People rely on you when spending their hard-earned money and deserve to know the truth about games they are spending £50-60 on. You have a responsibility as one of the biggest outlets to tell the truth about games and to properly carry out your journalistic duties. If you just want to be a Nintendo mouthpiece, fine. But you should make this extremely clear to readers that you are only interested in reporting on Nintendo in a positive light. Make your bias clear or you are misleading your readers, many of whom are probably children. It's unethical for you to paint yourselves as journalists when, as you just admitted, you only want to make things seem positive and act as a corporate mouthpiece. Extremely unethical indeed.

Re: Of Course Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Getting Review-Bombed

Mogster

Nintendo Life's astro turfing policy in full swing. Do you guys honestly call yourself journalists? First you try to equate that all fans are writing to Trump to get the game banned, and now are acting as if all negative viewpoints are 'review-bombing'. Even more embarrassing is the reviews you chose to highlight actually seem like well reasoned viewpoints...?

Why don't you do some actual journalism yourselves? Look at the GF statements saying that the game will use all new models made ground up, then data mine the games yourself and see if this is true? Why don't you reach out to GF employees to try and get an inside scoop into what is actually going on?

Why won't you do some actual journalism? If you are so adamant that the outrage is unwarranted, investigate it yourself maybe?

Edit: are you going to write an article about the SD card save-data glitch which is actual important??

Re: Guide: How Long Is Pokémon Sword And Shield? And Other Pokémon Sword And Shield Questions Answered

Mogster

The spin in this article is insane. Why were the Pokemon cut? We don't actually know the answer to this because the reasons they gave turned out to be lies.

Why are people on the Internet so angry? Because we were lied too, plain and simple. I feel sorry for Japanese gamers as there still hasn't been ANY official Japanese language announcement about the cull.

I get you are a Nintendo website but your blatant attempts to lie about the controversy and your desire to belittle the legitimate criticism about the game (see your article blanket accusing 'haters' of trying to contact Trump when it was like 100 people) doesn't benefit anyone and just embarrasses everyone on your payroll. At this point you aren't journalists at all.

Also the key question in the title is 'how long is the game?' yet you have omitted the answer from the article. Is it because you know the answer (15ish hours) is utterly pathetic?

Re: Here's Your First Look Inside London's Shiny New Pokémon Center

Mogster

@Heavyarms55 good thing you're not in business then!

Renting store space is expensive, especially in global hubs like London, and something like this has limited appeal - in the long run, how many people are REALLY going to up for spending £20 on a Pikachu plush? It's a limited market. Coupled with the fact that most people shop online these days - opening a niche store like this permanently would not be sustainable.

But when there is a big community event upcoming, like the release of Sword and Shield, suddenly more people are interested in the franchise. And as we all know from limited products such as NES Mini and amiibo, scarcity drives appeal - which is what the 'pop-up' nature achieves.

So by having this shop open for a limited time, and around the time of a big product launch, they are practically guaranteed to fully make back the money spent on the barebones decorating and rent, and also make a tidy profit on top of that, while also serving as a tool for promoting the new games.

FOMO (fear of missing out) is a powerful marketing tool in today's social media riddled society, so this store is guaranteed to be a huge hit. If it is that much of a success, I could easily see them extending the opening period til after Christmas.

Re: Poll: Astral Chain Is Out Today, Are You Getting It?

Mogster

I will purchase it in the future, but atm I'm pretty burnt out on Japanese anime-esque games, having just played Persona 5, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Three Houses consecutively. Might pick up Spyro this month and look out for Astral Chain in the future.

Re: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Becomes The Largest Fire Emblem Launch In US History

Mogster

@JR150 I'm sorry but no. You are being way too kind here. How many console games they've developed is irrelevant, if IS couldn't hack it they should have hired another developer.

Look at waterfall above the fishing pond. Look at the buildings, the lack of textures, look at the clouds ffs. The game looks like absolute garbage and runs like it too. I don't think I've seen a worse looking 1st party game in recent years. In parts it looks like a late N64 game (those goddamn clouds..) and no single element looks better than a GC game. For the game to run as badly as it does when looking as bad as it does is simply inexcusable.

I love the game, but god did it need another year or two in development.

Re: Is Game Freak "Recycling" 3DS Animations In Pokémon Sword And Shield On Switch?

Mogster

@Kirgo your naivety/optimism is impressive. Nothing is going to change between now and November. You refer to 'new features' but if these haven't already been announced then any new features are going to minor. Any new animations there will be minimal compared to the rest of the game.

Open your eyes. The Switch runs graphically intense, gorgeous looking game likes Botw, XC2 and Witcher 3. Are you seriously trying to tell me there is a legitimate reason why Pikachu stands there, completely still like a lifeless statue, aside from the one/two attack animations?

The Pokemon seemed more alive in the 2D games. At least there each Pokemon seemed to have a unique facial expression.

Re: Is Game Freak "Recycling" 3DS Animations In Pokémon Sword And Shield On Switch?

Mogster

Anyone defending Nintendo here should be ashamed on themselves. Stop giving lazy devs a free pass - Nintendo is charging you £60 for a game with slightly upresed character models that they developed for the ages old 3DS.

Game Freak is putting in minimum work and selling for maximum buck. Use your eyes - the character models are lifeless, expressionless abominations. This passed on 3DS. It should not pass on Switch.
