Re: Reminder: Final Fantasy VII Finally Launches On A Nintendo System Today

MaxPlastic

The only Final Fantasy that I 100% completed; I doubt I'll play through it 100% again, but I am happy that Sony's premiere FF has FINALLY been ported to a Nintendo system after years of Nintendo's FF games being ported to every electronic device under the sun.
This is gonna be in the top three best sellers for weeks, if not number one, I guarantee it.

Re: Review: Cosmic Star Heroine (Switch eShop)

MaxPlastic

This game is a lovechild between Chrono Trigger and Phantasy Star and plays just as well as either. Fully enjoyable, fast paced, and the most polished Zeboyd game I've played. It's hooked me longer than Octopath, and I actually love that game.

Re: Review: Cosmic Star Heroine (Switch eShop)

@SKTTR The only issue I have with the KEMCO RPGs is the somewhat questionable translations. It seems like after so long they could get a good translation team together. Other than that, every single one of those bad boys are sittin' on my 2DS lol

Re: Zelda-Inspired Action Adventure Sikanda Is Making Its Way To The Switch

MaxPlastic

We're getting to the point now where our Wishlists are overtaking our actual collections here in Switch territory so... It's gonna start taking something really fantastic, really interesting, or somethin' that just grabs us for one reason or another to invest interest, or more importantly money, into it.
I myself am like... Five games behind on what I want to play, as I haven't picked up Hyrule Warriors yet.
This game in it's early stages looks too generic and too soulless for me, inspiration be danged.
It's getting crowded in here now, you guys. Gonna have to really step it up.

Re: Digital Foundry Heaps Praise On Yooka-Laylee Switch Port

MaxPlastic

... I understand that it's already on Wal*Mart's budget shelves for PS4 and XBOX One, and I would also prefer a physical game card. But the NA price is as much as a new Pokémon game and many of us have no problem buying two different versions of the same game, let alone another $40 when the enhanced versions come out. Now I know the extra features included in an upgraded Pokémon title are hardly comparable to patches and performance upgrades to optimize a game for release on a console, but come on, man; The team wanted to get it right and I think $40 is a decent price to pay, especially if it's turned out to be THE top version of the game.
My only complaint is that Nintendo haven't really advertised it, and that they didn't launch it at midnight.
I've been waiting for this game for a couple of years (dare I say 15 or so) for this game, so I'm happy to pay the 'Switch tax' on this one.

Nuts And Bolts was awful.

Re: RiME Devs Explain The Difficulty Of Porting The Game To Switch

MaxPlastic

With SOO many great games coming out in the particularly bloated holiday season, it's always a nightmare to obtain AND play every game I want with my loaded work schedule. I was super excited to play this game, but after seeing the performance... It's just gonna be a soft pass for now. If it's patched, maybe it can find a place on my shelf later. Unless the patch is soon though, it'll be much later.

Re: Wii U's Failure Is Responsible For Switch's Success, Says Reggie

MaxPlastic

@OorWullie I dunno, I agree with most of what you said, but the user experience on the Wii U is still superior. Signing in to separate profiles feels more secure, Miiverse was very interactive and personal, and the Wii U even threw up some confetti in the Plaza when I started it up on my birthday. The Switch is sleeker and trimmed, sure, but it feels cold in comparison to the Wii U.
That being said, I have no doubt that most of this will be remedied after the launch of the official online service.

Re: Bethesda Adopts "Popular Internet Saying" To Promote DOOM On Switch

MaxPlastic

@Hrimfaksi Your concerns are legit. Third parties have done Nintendo dirty like that in the past.
I'm pumped, though, 'cause I never got a chance to play it. I don't have an XBOX One or a PS4, or a gaming PC, so there have been a few great games I missed out on. I'm not one of those Switch owners that unrealistically wants every multiplatform game to be ported to Switch either, but I am excited when games are announced. So there is a market there, and a chance worth taking, but I guess we'll have to see how much of a market there actually is. I'll be buying it, either way.

Re: Poll: A Retro Quest - Were You Able to Buy a Super NES Classic Edition / SNES Mini?

MaxPlastic

I went to my local Wal Mart at 10:00 pm, just to be safe. Hung around Electronics for an hour and forty-five minutes while some dudes streamed games on a few of the laptops. There were about ten people there; We all got numbers, and got a SNES at midnight. I even left my card at home, had to go get it and come back, and I was still able to get one. They had about 30 in stock, and people showing up after launch were able to get it. I'm sure they're sold out now, but it was easily obtainable.

A lot better than when I camped out in 40° all night for the Wii lol

Re: Welcome to the New Look Nintendo Life!

MaxPlastic

It's also weird to see WWW and VC-R people together... Some of us just stuck to one site or the other...
~ Come on, people now... Smile on your brother, everybody get together, try to love one another right now... ~

Re: USA VC Update: Super Punch-Out!!

MaxPlastic

I'm still waiting for Pro Wrestling and Mayhem in Monsterland... Not to mention the countless other games we've already beaten to death and will probably never get...
Wow, that sounds bitter... Excuse me, I'm just not feeling well lol

Re: Rumour: EarthBound Not Coming to Virtual Console

MaxPlastic

@ WarioFan63: Yeah but they already re-released the GameCube with motion controls, the least they could do is make some original games for it. I just feel like the time spent on these GCN "remakes" could be used in creating other original games for Wii
And again,
/end rant

Re: Rumour: EarthBound Not Coming to Virtual Console

MaxPlastic

Being someone who has never played EarthBound, I continually waited for news of this game to come to VC...
Sigh
I'm not buying that the music is the only hold-up, but I'm also pretty sure they'll let it stand as the excuse... Oh well...
Stop it Nintendo... I defend you time and time again, but first you tell me I'm getting Pikmin for Wii only to find out it's the original Pikmin with "new Wii controls?" Last year you release the new Wii Animal Crossing to a rabid fan-base, only to find out it's a Wii version of Wild World? And now this? Ugh...
/end vent

Re: Virtual Console Reviews - Best of 2008

MaxPlastic

Even if SMRPG isn't the best game on the VC, I will agree it's the best RELEASE; It had everyone up in arms one way or the other. Don't know if my Top Ten would include two shooters... But considering everything that was released in 08, that's probably a fair list

I only have DoReMi Fantasy and SMRPG tho...

Re: USA VC Update: StarTropics II

MaxPlastic

Oho! Perhaps I'll actually download a VC game this week!
...Still waiting for Pro Wrestling tho. And let's be different and throw Monster Party, Little Nemo, and Legacy of the Wizard in there, too n_n
... And don't even get me starte don the SNES wishlist (coughSoulBlazertrilogycough) lol

Good VC update IMO, so in the words of Cartman, "Quit yer bitchin'"
