My hands and wrists are not happy with my excessive Monster Hunter. Neither is my 3DS's X button >.<
@Anti-Matter Well yes I saw that but the connected D-Pad, was really good. It was the perfect D-Pad imo and losing it is just sad >.<
@AlexSora89 Hmmm well your idea isn't bad as such but going all over Weyard won't be as iconic. Maybe having the montage of lighthouses, kinda like the Fire Emblem stage in Brawl. The Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Mars Lighthouse, with each lighthouse having it's own style based on how they were in Golden Sun.
Love the fact that the headphone jack is above, and it's got the mini stand.
Although with all the Switch Hype, NintendoLife didn't report that the Japanese Voice Patch got added to Azure Striker Gunvolt as Update 1.3 on the 20th of October. So if anyone reads this, heads up!
Now I can finally digitally purchase Gunvolt 2, since otherwise I'd have to import the Striker Pack. Can't wait to blaze through the JP mode before I get cracking on ASG2, which looks fantastic.
The game is so reminiscent of Megaman Zero minus the closer sword combat.
@Kolzig
Yea it's a shame, and I am also disappointed that they can't deliver the update to the digital version.
Don't know about laziness but it might be something to do with delivering big updates to the 3DS game? Cause essentially the Japanese voice was not added organically to the game but a separate mode itself was created in the Steam version which had the voice acting, revised script, deleted skits and mid stage conversations whereas the base mode kept the original "localization" and no voice acting. And it being added in the striker pack it is technically a "different' game.
Although they should have given us the update since their majority sales were definitely on the 3DS.
@Greenalink
Oh thanks for that. I had searched a week ago and found nothing, so I guess I must have skipped over it xD
So yea as I said, it's in the Striker Pack, but they hadn't made any announcements for the patch for a year (which is a shame, since that's what they promised). And as the post says they don't have anything for it yet >.<
So does the Striker Pack GV1 have the extra modes that the PC version has? Speedrun Mode and one more iirc.
I mean I am disappointed that they don't have anything for the download version, but I love the game enough to get the double pack. Soon.
@Kolzig
Don't know. They haven't really talked about it since a year when they made the announcement in August 2015. This combo pack however, I think, has the original game with Japanese audio. Gotta watch the trailer of physical announcement to re-check.
I don't want get the PC version just to get all the addons, although I am now considering going physical dual pack. Not buying the 2nd digital till I find out the fate of the update to the original game.
Loved the first though, just need to get S+ in all now. Although however I decide to get Japanese audio option, I'll have to go through the game again, which I really don't mind since I remember most of the levels by heart anyway.
I think I forgot to mention Wonderful 101 sequel, maybe 102?
Wonderful 101 is one the BEST games on the Wii U and I absolutely loved the whacky story, action, comedy, etc. It had a learning curve but it was amazing after it and because of which not enough people gave it a chance.
I think it deserves another chance on NX. Plus it'd be amazing
These 4 franchises imo need another game in their series, especially the top 3 which haven't gotten a game since ages, F-Zero having oldest release.
Kid Icarus was a great game and it really deserves a sequel. Although topping the story of Uprising would be pretty hard xD I don't really get the hate for the controls. After learning em, they were more precise than any other dual analog shooter controls imo.
And for the ones saying GS with Monolith Soft, I can see where that is coming from and being a huge Xenoblade fan myself, I'd want them to work on the franchise as well. BUT in collaboration with Camelot, since Monolith's RPG are of a completely different style and despite the drawbacks of GS3, it was still a great game.
So yea my dream team for GS3 would be Camelot x Intelligent Systems x Monolith Soft. As long as they don't try to change up the franchise too much. I don't need supports or social links in Golden Sun.
Edit: Oh and Advance Wars is amazing, and I like it more than Fire Emblem so there's that. I loved all entries in the franchise including the slightly polarizing Days of Ruin which in my opinion toned down the levels of broken the combat was by Dual Strike while giving us leveling units, a choice between maintaining CO zone or triggering em, a stronger storyline and amazing music.
So yes, I really really want an Advance Wars as well.
@hieveryone
Well the neutral routes are usually taken as canonical routes when making sequels. The law route was the shortest in SMT4 (outside bad), neutral the longest. One usually goes bad, law, chaos, neutral in 4. Unless you want to skip bad.
I recently unlocked Neutral Route without a guide but had to take bad ending for that unlock light (stupid completion-ist nature). Ah back to replaying 5-6 hours to reach the route selection again to finally do Neutral -_-
And on expert I can't run away from battles without Trafuri.
As soon as I finish Neutral and this game drops to a rate without the Atlus tax, I am on board the Apocalypse train!
Eh my X/Y Red 3DS XL looks way better than this. I feel better about my 3DS's design now xD
Something about the colour, or just that it is basic but not elegant. For 3DS designs, I like the Zelda 3DS XL (came out with ALBW) and the gorgeous MH4U New 3DS XL.
Wow lol. I absolutely love Monster Hunter but Capcom, stahp, for a while atleast.
I don't want yearly MH fatigue which is starting to set in, and I still have to play Generations. I want to play other games too, including other Capcom games >.<
Pass me the popcorn somebody, the melodrama here is quite amusing.
I think this was a game which was quite expected since Mario is Nintendo's most prolific franchise besides Pokemon, and that Mario as a platformer could be adapted to a toned down endless runner. Which happened.
To all the doom and gloom people, as long as this gives Nintendo more visibility and increases their investment in the console market I'm all for it. I might see if I get it whenever it comes to android.
I doubt Nintendo will ever go mobile only, the platform is just too limited for all the variation and innovation Nintendo brings.
Bringing it to Apple first (no matter how one dislikes it) is a smarter move since Apple devices show better sales with paid games than Android, which is much more easier to pirate on. Plus announcing it before Sony's Neo reveal, really brought the spotlight on Nintendo again.
Oh Camelot. Why do you do this to us...? Sure you are an expert in Mario Golf and Tennis, but you used to make Shining Force and Golden Sun. Why have thou forsaken Golden Sun? The Sun needs to rise again... especially after the events of Dark Dawn.
It is like one project ends, and I wish they work on Golden Sun but they announce another Mario Sports project. After Mario Golf 3DS, came Mario Tennis Wii U. Now this. le sigh
@Gorlokk
Yea I hope so too. I have been hoping that since the 3DS Mario Golf came out.
I remember there being so much speculation of Isaac being a possible (DLC) character after he was seen missing as an assist trophy.
Smash NX, I look forward to you xD
Edit: Might as well look forward to Mario Superstars as well!
Well not exactly complaining but yea, some basic story has always been there. I don't really mind much, but for some that factor is needed to keep em interested. With 700 hours in each 3U and 4U (plus 100 in Freedom, don't remember unite) I don't think I am a person who needs story in his MonHun xD
The NG+ mode sounds interesting. Well I always wanted to see both armours, but I don't know if I'll bother to use this mode.
Monster Hunter Stories has to have a good story or else...
Oh that DLC looks lovely. And I am still here playing MH4U xD
Although I agree that MH has always had a bare bones story, with most of the story being "Hunter this X monster is attacking our village, please save us", 4U was a step in the right direction with the story being stronger than ever. Sure it wasn't much compared to what a story focused game has, but even the bare bones story gives some incentive to continue in the start, before the endgame where you just whatever you want xD So the more tedious nature of Gen Single player doesn't sound as well.
Ah well. Guys please don't stop hunting before I get Generations >.< Which is probably in a few months.... It'd be funny if another game is announced right when I get Generations.
Edit:
@CrazedCavalier
Okay that armour is awesome. If it has decent skills I'd just wear it for the whole time before endgame set grinding!
Great another reason to get Gen as soon as possible.
@hieveryone
And a superboss that doesn't require you to exploit downright broken strategies
I guess you didn't fight him yet, since he only comes from 2nd playthrough onwards (I think you need to use reward points to unlock him) and in every route 7th day except Yuzu's xD
@hieveryone Well Yuzu's route is an interesting take, especially with the 8th day added which itself has 2 endings. With the 8th day, I quite liked it with themes of taking responsibility, repercussions + the newer maps. The final boss was a disappointment though -_-
For Record Breaker, the impressions from my sister make it seem that it is an atypical storyline but the characters fall flatter. Gameplay wise, the Magnetite system is gone (to prevent putting Holy Dance and Drain on every demon xD) and the innate race skills can improve.
@hieveryone
I loved Overclocked, did all the routes, every demon, every thing. The superboss requires a broken strategy though. I once did Otakuro's route (xD) as my first route trying to get Focused and Unkillable both. It was .... hard.
From what I have seen of Record Breaker, it seems less appealing but I have yet to play it to judge it better.
@Zadaris At this point probably, but I still see GS4 making a return sometime in the future. Hopefully Camelot gets bored of making all the Tennis and Golf games and returns to form in style.
The second best news would be an Advance Wars. Or even the DS titles as DSiware kinda like Wario Ware as My Nintendo awards.
Oh come on Nintendo, use some of those amazing handheld franchises you have!
@hieveryone The 3DS one? Same here. In my opinion, it's near perfect. Makes all the menus so much easier to navigate. Especially in Monster Hunter with the huge amount of sorting and stuff.
With my experience with split D-pads, it would be quite slower and uncomfortable....
@Dpullam Yea none of their other models have come close to the simplicity and elegance of the MH4U 3DSXL, in my opinion. I don't know about faceplates for the normal New 3DS.
Too bad it won't ever restock. Oh well, guess I don't have money to spend on a new 3DS as well at the moment >.<
I don't really care about the Share button, it can be or be not there. Preferably there for the other people.
For Split D-pad, definitely no. NO NO NO nooooo....... >.<
I love the traditional D-Pad, probably my favourite D-PAD out of all the controllers. The others are just too clunky or painful to use (as in gameplay wise). Nintendo's D-Pad is perfect in my opinion for platformers, and other precise controls. And comfortable too.
@Peterjr1 Would that happen to be Toontown? It had a racing segment.
Well looking at this is just sad since this will probably not ever be realized again. Looked pretty cool actually. And Oswald and Mickey were working together again, using their Epic Mickey powers xD
Disney has been closing games for quite some time, Toontown, then Epic Mickey, Disney Infinity..... -_-
@triforceprime84 Well the chances are not too high, but nothing wrong with hoping xD They might re-invigorate their older franchises if NX doesn't face too many problems, hence they could take a "risk" with GS. I really want that Golden Sun 4!
@DarkKirby I loved Wind Waker, and the Koroks, but it never made sense to me either how the Kokiri ended up as these weird (but sorta cute) tree creatures.
This does likely show that Breath of the Wild is somewhere along the Wind Waker timeline. Just not another branch please XD
Seriously though Gravity Falls was amazing with its seemingly kiddish looks but great depth upon examination. The story, the easter eggs, everything! Plus all the stuff it referenced xD
If Alex Hirsch does become a writer for the film, I'll definitely be looking forward to this.
Okay so the first thing I do in the choices is look for Golden Sun. Not there... (as expected >.<)
I did vote for 5, but my actual votes would have gone to:
Golden Sun - 3
Advance Wars - 2
These two series have been "seemingly" forgotten since their DS entry, and I really want them to make a glorious comeback on the NX. If NX is a hybrid, then it would be all the more awesome since I can take them on the go (more like bed xD) or play them on the TV.
Also, shout-out to all the people who mentioned GS in the comments! Golden Sun has not been forgotten by us
I also really love Monster Hunters, but I have been playing that for quite some time, and haven't even started Generations yet!
@SpykeKat Yea it definitely reminds me of that. You have to sneak up on a person, and if you follow them, and hide behind a structure, he "meows" whenever they turn around.
Just recently helped my sister finish Wind Waker, and that scene is definitely fresh in my mind. It was really funny!
This palico costume is awesome. Does it come with Toon Link's very own meow-sic effects?
@filterclay
Well in the original version, the dialogues didn't really interfere in the battle as one would think, and another reason (I think) it was cut was because they had tweaked the script. Hence the localized text and the original voices didn't match. It was not in budget to do English voice-overs I suppose.
The full presentation was supposedly available when they later launched Azure Striker Gunvolt on PC. They had indeed officially stated that they would bring the original text and voices as a free patch for the digital 3DS version, so hopefully with this Physical release, we get the promised update.
They haven't spoken about it for a long time though. I am still waiting for the update though, the game's definitely amazing and I am looking forward to the second one.
In my opinion, this patch is a step in the right direction to show Nintendo that their "localization" strategy is one that is not liked by many fans. From what I saw from the link (I haven't gotten the game yet), many lines and dialogues were redone in the Western version and not just the skimpy costumes as many claim. Even if the message by the developer was botched by the localization process, they won't come out and say their message was butchered, they still want the sales -_-
A fan patch will be much more noticed than Nintendo than any petition since it will open the gates for people to modify their consoles, and they don't want that.
And it is the fans' passion, if they want to uncensor it, I have no problem with that.
To the Pro Censorship people: You are just wasting your time getting all pitchfork-y over this. If you really don't care, don't waste your time commenting.
'If you can withstand the crawling discomfort of her calling you "big brother"''
I thought this was a reference to the original Fire Emblem since Tiki called Marth "big brother" in the Japanese version instead of Mar-Mar like we got. Itsuki is supposed to sorta represent Marth.
Still looking forward to trying the game since it looks really interesting. The Wii U might be piping down but there are still tons of games left for me to play so I'm good.
It is annoying however that there seem to be no subtitles during battles.
Heh heh, this is definitely not a surprise. Monolith has been helping the core Nintendo studios for quite some games, and considering the scale of this game and the brilliant world Monolith concocted in XBX, I thought it was pretty much expected that they will help out.
Looking more forward to this Zelda game now! Talking about XBX, I gotta go make my one-shot skelll soon.
@PlutoPerson
Wow, a world as big as Xenoblade X's. That's pretty exciting.
I haven't even played Bayonetta 2 (I need to buy it ASAP....) yet but I still want a sequel to come out. I have loved whatever I have tried from Platinum Games, definitely the reigning developer of the action genre today.
Heck I am playing the Wonderful 101 right now, trying to get as close to 100% completion as possible. Although some of these achievements are probably beyond my grasp, but currently going through the game at Hard Mode and getting all the collectibles. Definitely an amazing game, especially with all the super whacky stuff going on all time. Plus the finale which is one of the epic-est I have ever played.
I need Wonderful 102 in my life. Or whatever the next title may be called.

But I think I'm still hype! Sorta.
Re: Monster Hunter Nintendo Direct Airing In Japan This Week
Gosh I still haven't gotten to Generations xD
Eh the series is sorta burning me out. I don't think going back to play MHF and MHFU after 3U, and then 4U right after was a good choice.....
4 MH games in row and the burn out is real. I will get Generations next month, probably.
So I don't want another game in the series for now >.< Unless it's MHXG or something, then I am cool. Won't have to buy regular Generations
Re: Random: Check Out This Neat 3D View of the Nintendo Switch
@Anti-Matter
Well yes I saw that but the connected D-Pad, was really good. It was the perfect D-Pad imo and losing it is just sad >.<
@AlexSora89
Hmmm well your idea isn't bad as such but going all over Weyard won't be as iconic. Maybe having the montage of lighthouses, kinda like the Fire Emblem stage in Brawl. The Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Mars Lighthouse, with each lighthouse having it's own style based on how they were in Golden Sun.
Re: Random: Check Out This Neat 3D View of the Nintendo Switch
@AlexSora89
Nope. That's the name of the world man. You're not going to have a stage that size. And it's Weyard xD Tch Tch.
More like "Venus" and ends with "Lighthouse"
Oh and poop I just realized. No connected D-pad.
Nooooooooooo!
Nintendo why you do this? ;_;
Re: Random: Check Out This Neat 3D View of the Nintendo Switch
@AlexSora89
Hey there! o/
I am still hoping that there is a Smash Switch, with it mostly being a Wii U Port/Remaster, but with a few characters/stages added.
And you know who I want first and foremost XD

Nintendo D-pad, best D-pad xD It has survived those thousand hours with MH3U and 4U, while my other buttons occasionally gave me problems.

Nothing beats the MH4U (new) 3DSXL design. Nothing.
(Why didn't I get it >.<....)
Re: Sources Indicate That the Nintendo NX Will Feature a Social 'Share' Button
I don't really care about the Share button, it can be or be not there. Preferably there for the other people.
For Split D-pad, definitely no. NO NO NO nooooo....... >.<
I love the traditional D-Pad, probably my favourite D-PAD out of all the controllers. The others are just too clunky or painful to use (as in gameplay wise). Nintendo's D-Pad is perfect in my opinion for platformers, and other precise controls. And comfortable too.
Re: Video: Miitomo Now Has Its Own Japanese High School Rap Song
Miitomo Miitomo... Let me Know! XD
Despite how Miitomo is lacking, and none of my friends use it (or know about it - it's not even out yet in my region), I still liked this ad series.
Quirky. I like it.
Re: Disney Was Working On A Mario Kart-Style Racer Called Epic Disney Racers
@Peterjr1
Oh alright xD Never heard of it before actually.
Seems nice though! Very Mario Kart-ish.
Re: Disney Was Working On A Mario Kart-Style Racer Called Epic Disney Racers
@Peterjr1 Would that happen to be Toontown? It had a racing segment.
Well looking at this is just sad since this will probably not ever be realized again. Looked pretty cool actually. And Oswald and Mickey were working together again, using their Epic Mickey powers xD
Disney has been closing games for quite some time, Toontown, then Epic Mickey, Disney Infinity..... -_-
Re: Poll: Which Nintendo NX Games Do You Want to See in the Launch Window?
@triforceprime84
Well the chances are not too high, but nothing wrong with hoping xD They might re-invigorate their older franchises if NX doesn't face too many problems, hence they could take a "risk" with GS. I really want that Golden Sun 4!
I just have one question to Nintendo about GS:
Why?
Re: Video: Take a Closer Look at Koroks in Breath of the Wild
@DarkKirby
I loved Wind Waker, and the Koroks, but it never made sense to me either how the Kokiri ended up as these weird (but sorta cute) tree creatures.
This does likely show that Breath of the Wild is somewhere along the Wind Waker timeline. Just not another branch please XD
Re: Pokémon Live Action Movie Could Be Penned By Writers Of Guardians Of The Galaxy And Gravity Falls
....
Gravity Falls.....
Alright, I'm aboard the hype train
Seriously though Gravity Falls was amazing with its seemingly kiddish looks but great depth upon examination. The story, the easter eggs, everything! Plus all the stuff it referenced xD
If Alex Hirsch does become a writer for the film, I'll definitely be looking forward to this.
Oh and I loved GoTG as well, so there's that.
Let's see if this truly bears fruit
Re: Poll: Which Nintendo NX Games Do You Want to See in the Launch Window?
Re: Gallery: Take a Better Look at July's Monster Hunter Generations DLC Goodies
Yay USJ armour! Loved those sets in MH4U, and they still look amazing in Generations. Plus even the cat has one now!
I wonder if it will be another great whole set like it was in 4U. It was THE Insect Glaive set suitable for most monsters.
I still need to get Generations, stop making this worse for me >.<
And now my interest in MH has reignited, and I am reminded why I stopped hunting with randoms in 4U...... Plus they are kinda emptier now.
Re: Capcom Confirms Monster Hunter Generations x Wind Waker Outfit as Free DLC
@SpykeKat
Yea it definitely reminds me of that.
Re: Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 Launches in North America on 30th September
@filterclay
Well it's not a new game, and they might have the update ready like you said, so I would like it as soon as possible xD
It will probably be identical to the Japanese voiceover mode that they have in the PC version, with the original JP game translated to English.
Would love for them to mention it atleast, cause they last mentioned it around August last year.
Re: Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 Launches in North America on 30th September
@filterclay
Re: Fans Create Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Patch Which Uncensors Western Censorship
[Distributing Pitchforks]
They are still in demand right?
Re: Review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)
'If you can withstand the crawling discomfort of her calling you "big brother"''
I thought this was a reference to the original Fire Emblem since Tiki called Marth "big brother" in the Japanese version instead of Mar-Mar like we got. Itsuki is supposed to sorta represent Marth.
Still looking forward to trying the game since it looks really interesting. The Wii U might be piping down but there are still tons of games left for me to play so I'm good.
It is annoying however that there seem to be no subtitles during battles.
Re: Xenoblade Studio Monolith Soft Is Helping Make Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Heh heh, this is definitely not a surprise. Monolith has been helping the core Nintendo studios for quite some games, and considering the scale of this game and the brilliant world Monolith concocted in XBX, I thought it was pretty much expected that they will help out.
Looking more forward to this Zelda game now! Talking about XBX, I gotta go make my one-shot skelll soon.
@PlutoPerson
Wow, a world as big as Xenoblade X's. That's pretty exciting.
Re: E3 2016: Hideki Kamiya Has "Spent A Lot Of Time" Thinking About Bayonetta 3
Re: Reminder: The Shiny Yveltal Distribution is Now Available in North America
Oops. I missed out on Zygarde and Xerneas... >.<
Re: Video: Nintendo Aims to Get Down With the Kids in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Series
@Kazuo
Well I am not entirely sure NL gets it. Alex did refer it to as Hashtag FE (or something) in his video as well -_-
Re: Video: Nintendo Aims to Get Down With the Kids in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Series
@DiscoGentleman
Oh no xD That made me laugh me more than it should have!
And on the topic of the videos, I thought the official video was much less cringy, than Nintendo Life's video.
