@JaxonH
When did you have so much money to buy 15 spares xD Fire Emblems before Awakening (except Sacred Stones) had limited cash reserves throughout the campaign. Unless you mean Bronze/iron spares Path of Radiance does give you some cash pools but forging (which I liked a lot more than what Awakening gave us) burns really quickly into them.
And considering what we should equip at the end of the turn, or use every turn has ever been present. Some weapons had lower weight, hence higher avoid (and chance to double or atleast not be doubled), or critical rate chances or just the weapon triangle. Or weaponry like Axebreaker, Lancereaver that defy the triangle (which were removed in favour of turning these into skills in Awakening) or super effective weapons like Armourslayer. This new feature doesn't really add that strategic element since it has always been present.
And weight has been gone since Awakening. I haven't played FE12 and I don't remember Shadow Dragon, but weight was intact till Radiant Dawn.
@JaxonH
I could say that durability had the same strategic outcomes. Sure the weapons may come with penalties in the new system but such penalties (unless they are really harsh) don't make much of a difference after the beginning once your characters develop a high enough skill. Earlier, you couldnt just use your killing edge all the way through since they are rare and have low uses, making you juggle weapons. Preserving uses at an easy time or using them at the right time felt nice. And weapons do actually break so I liked that.
Super weapons are meant to be used rarely, especially since they are weapons 1000s of years old, I wouldn't expect them to last long. I liked the way in older games how some durable legendary weapons like Ragnell, Falchion etc, can't break. The strategy was still there, so was the risk and reward.
And the weight added a dimension to whether the enemy could double you or not. And it makes sense. If a person wields a weapon heavier than their strength can use efficiently, they will be slow with it.
It's not just resistance to change, I just feel it was dumbed down. Awakening was meant to be much much more newcomer friendly.
@Pandaman
They opened the gates for the 'otaku' crowd and those gates ain't closing any time soon >.<
To be honest, I liked the Advance Wars series more in terms of strategic SRPG gameplay which could employ a lot more advanced tactics since you don't have to worry about character deaths. Along with unit production, capturing buildings, terrain being more important, etc. Sadly Intelligent Systems has abandoned the franchise for quite some time. I would love another game in a similar vein to Days of Ruin. Sadly the game didn't have Hard mode.
Regarding the article, localization is meant to make the game accessible to people of a different region while keeping the creator's vision. Removing content due to it being less acceptable in a region, instead of replacing it with an acceptable alternative is not localization but censorship. And localization is also not filling memes in games which Nintendo loves to do these days (even their survey repeatedly asked me about memes!).
@JaxonH Well yes, obviously there are flaws in every game.
I like Awakening, just that the annoyances get in the way. I liked the older system with weapon weights and durability but I have yet to see how it turns out in Fates.
I wouldn't actually recommend Lunatic at all since that is a very unfair mode. A lot of it is cheap difficulty. There have been annoying precedents with Radiant Dawn hard mode disabling enemy ranges (ugh artificial difficulty).
@JaxonH
I have not completely finished FE13 (at chapter 20 at the moment) but even I can say that although the other modes on Awakening might be as hard as previous games, the way the game achieves so are annoying.
Putting tons of skills on enemy units or giving them improbable stats (maxed units in Lunatic). Then the return of reinforcements which move in the same turn (all modes) and in my opinion slightly flatter level designs.
Removal of some other aspects like weapon weight (or the speed penalty) annoyed me, while pair up is overpowered and a must on harder modes. I do agree that some things were complicated in previous games but I liked how they factored into your overall strategy.
Many changes were made to make the series more accessible which saved the franchise, but I can't say I like all the changes. And the excessive anime tropes!
Awakening is still a great strategic game at its core though, just not the best as many claim it to be.
I love the way they move in combat though and the speedup feature. The Tellius series, although my favourite, had stiff combat (less so in RD).
And adding to this study, I have never been into the competitive aspects of gaming and probably never will. Too much stress, too less fun in my opinion. Plus I can't imagine myself practicing for hours >.< I love myself a great singleplayer experiences with occasional ventures in multiplayer (Monster Hunter!)
@roboshort Well it is made by Atlus and as a crossover for SMT and FE, of which both series have traditionally been dark so guess that was natural, despite its initial outlook. Plus there were short sequences in the reveal trailer that showed it to be darker than meets the eye. Main series SMT games are dungeon crawling so that aspect is nice.
I have become more interested in this game after my initial displeasure at the reveal, since it is trying to be its own thing with SMT and FE elements. I have never been into J-Pop but the songs are catchy.
A localization nightmare though since it has Japanese singers and whatnot. It is either Dual Audio or bust for me. I am not interested in Nintendo (or Atlus) 'localizing' it and removing Japanese audio altogether. Especially the songs which should remain Japanese.
The art is definitely great. I might get the book if it comes to the West.
I absolutely loved this game when I played it but I was unable to conquer all territory. Hopefully I will get this copy and completely finish the game.
Haven't finished A2 yet but loved every moment of it as well
@Gerbwmu
Well I meant Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance together as a package. So you know we can play the Gamecube game, and easily transition to the Wii game while getting the boosts we get from a completed PoR file. I would probably get them separate as well, but the the two stories are meant to be together since PoR is essentially setting up RD.
@yokokazuo
Shush! That doesn't count. Although it is freaky and completely unexpected when the boss rides towards you in hard mode. I haven't played normal mode so I don't know about that. It was a nice opportunity to max all my healers' levels though with Physic staves.
The Radiant Dawn finale however is amazing with the consecutive badass boss levels.
@AVahne
Not ALL strategy but yes, it has become simpler.
That's a shame actually since I consider the Tellius series to be the pinnacle of Fire Emblem games, in a lot of aspects to the immersiveness, the way the story is told, combat, unit diversity, non-dragon final boss etc.
Sure they have some missteps and Radiant Dawn has an excessively sparse support system but in my eyes they were masterpieces. Maybe except the combat animation could have been improved in PoR, Awakening's dynamic combat does look nice.
If they ever made an HD remaster without messing around with stuff (except adding the extended script in RD hard mode), I would probably buy it day one.
@Malachite She is totally supposed to be creepy. She is inspired from an equally creepy character in Awakening. Yes they re-used 3+ designs in this game.
@DarthNocturnal
Yes the game tried to be a bit anime-ish with many stereotypes found in generic anime interspersed with character archetypes that have always been a part of Fire Emblem. This combined with the fact that the support system now has to end at marriage for everyone.
And I found the combat to be toned down in comparison to the older games. The game spammed units to make us lose instead of slightly more intellgent maps, pair up was broken (but necessary on Lunatic) although they fixed that this game, and Fates removed weapon usage. Light magic is pretty much gone as well.
Pair that with these "extra" features that really don't belong in a FE game. Although as I said, just because they were removed in the overseas release doesn't remove the fact that it was there in the original game and might be a part of the franchise (ugh) from now on.
I will probably get the game after a year or two after I finish my current games to see how the combat has been improved from Awakening, my main request. I might just finish my Radiant Dawn hard mode run till then.
I will totally be satisfied if they make a remaster (not remake!) of the Tellius series a la TP HD and release it on Wii U. With the stat boosts and support transfers intact. And maybe put the extended script (hard mode) in RD this time round.
@Mogster
The problem is that it doesn't mean that the feature was never there in the latest Fire Emblem game. It was there in the Japanese version and as things are continuing, it probably will be there in the next game >.<
And that is what I dislike more, the way Intelligent Systems has been continuing the series with these "extra" features (not the core strategic FE gameplay which is still fine). And no censorship will change that.
If the NX has a handheld component as well then I would definitely love a Golden Sun. I wouldn't mind it on the home console as well. What's wrong with dreaming?
Otherwise from the poll, Metroid, Kid Icarus and F-Zero A Mario game will probably be there anyway so no need to vote that.
@Cinnamon115 So true. A new Golden Sun please Nintendo! And preferably on an upcoming console (like the original games) rather than a dying one. Another reason why Dark Dawn underperformed was how late it came in the DS's lifespan.
@Chaoz
I can attest to that. As I am sort of a foolhardy person who selects the most difficult mode from the get go (yea...), I selected Lunatic mode for my first playthrough -_- I had played the demo multiple times, and helped my sister when she played on hard, but the unfairness of this mode is on another level.
Spawn attack reinforcements (I know its on all difficulties), completely unbalanced stats and giving enemy units tons of skills just to make the game a LOT more (cheaply) difficult.
Still on chapter 18... And I refuse to grind on DLC. The Risen are even worse.
@AVahne
Yes, Awakening had to make a lot of sacrifices to make the series more accessible.
Awakening might be the game that saved the series from fading out into obscurity but I would also remember it as the game which filled the series with generic (not good) anime stereotypes. The children system was definitely a weird addition (although I still like Owain), and the combat has become simpler. The maps are less diverse and the game mainly tries to get us by spamming reinforcements on tons of maps... I also have mixed feelings on the support system.
Even the story is not THAT special, although I have yet to reach the 'twist'.
I agree that the fast-forward button is the main addition which the series needed since a long time.
Calling it the best game in the series would be highly subjective. The game is still great but nowhere the best.
The Tellius series would probably remain my favourite the way the series is progressing. Fates might have a great story, but the continuation of Awakening's annoying (in my opinion) elements would probably detract (slightly) from my experience.
Now to see how much the game is changed in 'localization'. I still intend to purchase all three routes though.
@shani
Yea I areas the manual multiple times but mostly for the status effect symbols so glossed over division support.
The challenge happens always. As soon as your skell is destroyed, and when your player is about to be ejected a soul voice comes. Perfect means no insurance loss, good is safe ejection but one insurance consumption and failure means 2 loss and ejection with 1 HP. You might have failed those thinking they were regular team member soul voice challenges.
Wrecked tons of skells, myself haha. When I do run out insurance I just pay the fee, unequip everything and buy another copy. Problem solved
I look like being the only one who likes skell driving xD love skidding through the places while gathering all collectibles. Although I can just fly real low now.
@shani
You sure about that? Cause in the game they tried to sort of emphasize that you receive at least your own division's support. And I think I do ccasionally get my division's support without another mediator (my division) in my party or area. I might be wrong (too lazy to check atm) since I do tend to ignore the support since it is pretty useless compared to other big changes skills and armour can cause. I did find some confusion on the topic around the internet as well -_-. And since the prospectors are broken, I don't wanna join them. Another reason why I don't use the broken op skell (while making an even more op skell lol).
To be honest the salvage tickets are not even that useful since the soul voice challenge to prevent insurance consumption is pretty easy. And post game skells are pretty tough to break xD.
Now just to kill the super bosses and make my custom "one punch skell" and I am done with the game.
Edit: Just checked manual again. Apparently it is the support we give to other players. Derp. 220 hours and there is still stuff I don't know xD
@rishisquid Different divisions basically influence the type of support you can get in battle (a fixed percentage) and the primary way to earn points which obviously get you division rewards from the network console (prospectors broken >.<).
Interceptors get ranged attack support and they earn most points by killing monsters and completing missions. No different side quests or different skills for different divisions. Oh and you get a mission for the flight pack after chapter 9.
Just got the ultimate skell and it is definitely overpowered. Although I do intend to overshadow it with my own custom Verus or Formula. Sadly the DLC skells are not available at frame level 60 -_-
To be honest, I do agree that the text might be a tad too small, but I am fine with the size. Just had to use my bean bag chair (in front of the couch) than the couch but then that is hardly half a meter difference, and the newer option is much more comfortable. I can read the text fine from a 3 meter distance on my 46 inch TV.
There should have been an option for others to enlarge the text though. For me, the text size is perfect and much larger would just look odd, but yea more options is always better.
Since my TV got busted (and getting repaired next week), the biggest problem I have is that in off-TV play, the smallest text gets blurred but then that is probably due to the gamepad not being HD.
To start off, all the characters that were announced yesterday belong to franchises that am I HUGE fan of. Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy and Bayonetta are all amazing games.
I was still a bit disappointed in the Direct. And no, this is not about Isaac.
The characters in themselves are pretty awesome with Corrin sporting a cool transforming dragon moveset and Bayonetta having Witch time as well as combos (a lot like the game itself). You can see how well Sakurai and Nintendo are developing these characters.
It is the choice of the characters itself which is bothersome. Fire Emblem, believe it or not, has always been a niche series with Awakening being the only game to cross a million global sales and also was a potential swan song for the franchise. The representation in Smash however has been exvessive. Corrin could have been used for the next Smash since 2 characters (Robin and Lucina) from the current generation were already added with Roy re-added as DLC. Instead of celebrating it's history, Nintendo is choosing to advertise an unreleased game.
Bayonetta is an entirely different matter. Nintendo chose to completely hide the results of the ballot, and announced Bayonetta as the winner among "realizable" characters. The ones rejected could be 3rd party (hence licensing issues) but may very well have been 1st party who Nintendo refused to add/consider. Despite her awesomeness, I don't believe that she was the "winner" considering her games were also niche (but amazing) action games. The choice seemed as a shock reveal more than anything, with Bayonetta chosen over quite a few characters. Plus we could have used another ballot character.
Still, since the DLC has now all been finally announced, I would like to congratulate all the fans who's favoured character was announced. I might as well try them out once I buy the game and DLC chars.
@AlexSora89
Haha don't be. Sure for me the direct was a bit of a disappointment but I can see why it might be regarded as a huge success. I do however, despite being a huge Fire Emblem fan mind the excessive representation of the franchise. Also Corrin spoils a lot of aspects of an unreleased game.
I do however still believe that Bayonetta (again a fan of her) although presented as the ballot "winner" was just the choice out of top contenders that Sakurai (and Nintendo) were interested in putting in the game. I mean, what is even the criteria of a "realizable" character?
Will have to move on for now, but I still hope that a GS4 will come out in the next few years,giving the franchise a much needed revival and a greater chance in the next Smash. And then there is always the possibility of GBA being considered "retro" enough by the time of the next game, for Isaac to be a rep.
Edit: It is a shame Project M had to end prematurely though. And Isaac was also almost complete as well -_-
@AlexSora89 Heh heh, thanks. Not just me, but tons of Golden Sun fans will be absolutely elated if Isaac makes it in Smash. Especially the ones who have been actively supporting Isaac for Smash.
And the point regarding a gap to fill has been pretty obvious from the start. The point that makes Isaac much more likely for Smash DLC is that he is missing as an assist trophy. Existing assist trophies have a much lower chance of being playable in Smash 4, whereas Isaac's exclusion opened up a slot for him. And the addition of a new piece of music from the Golden Sun series besides the piece at Norfair, atleast showed that Golden Sun had not been completely forgotten.
@AlexSora89 Actually Golden Sun has two tracks in the Wii U version of the game. One is the Felix Theme and Final Boss mix that was present in Brawl as well, on Norfair. The other is a somewhat hidden/unnoticed piece with a Dark Dawn theme, Weyard, present on Palutena's Temple.
Comparing to Robin or anyone actually is not really necessary as Isaac as a unique character would be amazing in itself. To be honest, many people at the Smashboards Isaac thread were considering a pure psynergy moveset with the sword being used for only the basic forward jab, and the Ragnarok and Odyssey psynergy. His grab can be the catch psynergy, and up-b can be Meggido or just growth or something. Having Djinn to switch around his moves would probably be too complicated but Djinn could be incorporated as in standby/set mode. The more Djinn he has set, the more damage his moves will deal with a weaker final smash or the opposite for more standby djinn. The Final Smash should probably be Judgement or a medley of attacks (Odyssey and others) but that has been done to death already by Ike and Cloud.
To be honest he has so many possible moves that it would be near impossible to discuss them all due to the huge range of psynergy Golden Sun has. Hopefully Sakurai uses that to his advantage instead of making him too much like Robin who doesn't have Earth psynergy, something that can make Isaac focus on stage control and be very different overall!
It always annoys me that tons of people make lists of possible candidates, and include super unlikely 3rd party candidates or some other unknown characters but happen to forget Isaac.
Hopefully those days of obscurity end with this direct. Isaac is definitely an amazing choice for DLC with tons of psynergy moves in his possession and Nintendo exclusivity. Plus Smash can always use more reps from the Gameboy Advance era which it sorely lacks. Golden Sun was definitely one of the best and first RPG on the console, and with its fan popularity, Isaac now has a decent chance.
Hopefully Nintendo (and Sakurai) stays true to its promise that it made with the ballot (and future DLC) of satisfying as many fans as possible.
So here's to #IsaacForSmash, fellow Golden Sun fans. And to a Golden Sun-rise for the franchise as well.
P.S. Oh and good luck to fans of other characters!
Fashion gear for the win! I do sometimes remove the fashion armour to give them the "armour" look but now you can make them seem like wearing anything while actually having stats of your best armour.
From swimsuits, to punk style, anything goes. Or just make them roll with their original armour throughout the game. Or the special equipment like the School Blazer, or the full suit as one of the quest rewards.
Currently I am going with Team Swag
@AVahne
I already sold everyone's starting equipment as well. I do think however that you might eventually get a palette swap or a very similar piece of equipment later on in the game appearance wise. Same thing happened near the end of Xenoblade with a lot of armour being similar in appearance to the originals they had.
That doesn't sound so surprising BUT it is definitely an amazing game that deserves more purchases!
Sure the game is a X (Cross) between JRPGs and MMORPGs making it pretty niche game, but it is a gem nonetheless. A huge awesome polished gem. Started the game 2 days ago after much trouble with the download process and the game is absolutely amazing. It took the aspects of the original Xenoblade and expanded so much on it!
The seamless overworld, Xenoblade combat (which I personally love), tons of missions, amazing music excellent graphics (for the Wii U) and tons of sci-fi x mech x fantasy charm. It is THE sci-fi game that I always dreamed of.
I can't stop playing, family is starting to get annoyed with me. (TV is not a problem since off TV! play).
What I find annoying however is that I can't have audio through my headphones without mirroring the main screen on my gamepad, hence having no map and 2nd screen stuff. Is there anyway to get around it without having to go to off-screen mode?
@Zetro Used my home WiFi connection to download around half when the internet disconnected and instead of pausing like it should, the game decided to get its data corrupted. Thought it was a one off error, happened twice again with my tethered connection.
Finally changed settings to static IP and Google's DNS servers, hopefully download completes this time. My data limit is about to get over as well -_-
That is amazing! And sorta annoying considering I am still doing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and yet have tons to do! Then there is my previous playthrough of 3 Ultimate with my sister -_-
Well the localization is probably going to take some time so better get moving to beat 4U! Which will take time since I just started Kid Icarus: Uprising and am hooked! And then Xenoblade comes out in 3 days as well 0.0
I think the super extra sales might also be due to the fact that extra hunting styles are being added. Combat will become more flashy so I can see previous detractors of the series actually liking the new options more.
@AlexSora89 It's always nice to see an underrepresented (golden) franchise like Golden Sun get more coverage like this.
Plus I was looking forward to see some details I didn't know about. Didn't know about the Beyond game as well as how the idea for GS 3 came out to be (maybe that's why sort of messed a golden chance to revive the series).
The 3rd game was by no means 'trash'. Sure the storyline was different from what was expected (introduced more questions than answers), the game was a tad too easy with too much hand-holding and the cliffhanger was just cruel, BUT the game was good. Really good in fact.
Sure the game might have taken a few missteps but it still retained the Golden Sun charm. I remember turning on the cartridge and being instantly transported to the world of Golden Sun, albeit 30 years later. With its lovable Djinn, puzzle solving, the Djinn based combat and psynergy! The points of no return were also quite infuriating.
I blazed through the game in 2 days, just to get a gamebreaking bug (which no one on the internet had -_-) with me getting stuck behind a late game npc with no previous save file and nothing could get me free. I restarted the whole game and finished it in the next 2 days. It was definitely gripping, and by no means a trashy game.
This is coming from a person who has played GS numerous times and I still love the original and its sequel the most (GS is one of my favourite video game franchises ever), but I don't think Dark Dawn deserves the hate it sometimes gets.
The marvel of the Golden Sun's games can easily be seen by the small but loyal fanbase it still has. Being a 14 year old franchise, with the last game released 5 years earlier, Isaac and his game still maintains a decent popularity, enough to place quite well on most smash fan ballots and hopefully the actual ballot as well.
If he becomes playable in Smash, I am 100% sure the series will get a sequel. Plus the playable appearance would be awesome in itself (psynergy powers FTW!). #IsaacForSmash
@Trinexx Well actually the Golden Sun games are not that long with the first game being around 20 hours with full completion and Golden Sun 2 lasting around 30.
Dark Dawn is roughly as long as the Lost Age so lasts for 30-40 hours.
Compared to other RPGs that can last from 50-100 hours, the Golden Sun games are short. Still great though as they never get that drawn out, plus you don't even really need to grind much with focus on the puzzle solving being greater. The length is short but really sweet.
Aah Golden Sun. The once loved, now abandoned child of Camelot. Leaving the series on a cliffhanger was the worst thing they could have done after that huge wait, leading to another long wait -_- The only thing they do these days is churn out Mario Golf and Mario Tennis, with the latest iterations also quite behind the older titles. The same company who was behind the Shining Force franchise. They seriously can do so much better. Although I did know that a lot of the workforce had left so that explained the huge initial hiatus.
Still great that "Did you Know Gaming?" covered Golden Sun. Didn't know about Beyond the Beyond. Might have to somehow get my hands on it.
Now all we Golden Sun fans need to do is to send them some fine liquor, and a letter to tell them to get drunk and think of Golden Sun 4 Plus that there is fan demand!
We need Golden Sun 4! And hopefully if Isaac got decently placed in the ballot, a playable appearance in Smash might just be the bump he needs for making GS 4. #IsaacForSmash!
Off topic:
I thought I recognized that voice, turned out to be Smooth McGroove. Would love it if he made another GS acapella.
@Captain_Gonru
Please no. Plus I doubt that Nintendo will go for some relatively unknown franchise over their mainstays, even for mobile titles. RPGs just won't cut it much especially a turn based one.
I wanted another copy of TWEWY for my sister, 358/2 Days as well as Re:coded. Plus Dream Drop Distance as I still have yet to play it. Shame all of them are on the waiting list -_-
Waiting for them to hopefully come in stock before I grab them. The only game out the ones I wanted is Theatrhythm. Might as well just pick up Chrono Trigger again.
The shipping is indeed a turn off, and I'll only bite if I get some more games in cart.
Hey I am not saying that my second argument is very reasonable. But that is what lot of fans want, despite not knowing the language, so tell that to them
Ooh nice. Thanks for the heads up, but I live outside the US (no Nintendo presence here) and use an imported Wii U so I have to sort of rely on digital games cause shipping and customs otherwise add up -_-
Not bad I guess, but I was expecting more, maybe too much considering Nintendo's track record with deals.
I might pick up Windwaker HD and Awakening. Was really hoping for Bayonetta 2 as well but guess I will have to put down $60 for the two. Not saying that Bayonetta 1+2 are not worth the price, they are definitely amazing (loved the demo!!! plus I loved the DMC games and Wonderful 101), but limited budget and so many games to play -_-
Yes it is indeed true that English dubs have indeed improved in quality, but there are many who would still prefer the original. Although it is true that localization often ends up giving people wrong context in subtitles due to some script changes to accommodate English dub or any other dub. Subbed is getting an ever increasing fanbase as tons of people like the Japanese voice acting despite most not knowing the language. I don't mind the English dub as much as I would miss the banter they do during battle if I turned it to Japanese as my Japanese is still pretty weak, but I would miss the choice.
As I said earlier, it is a shame that the option for Japanese audio is no longer offered to fans who would like to listen to the original voices. They probably removed it due to size constraints since the game is almost as big as the max capacity of a Wii U disc and maybe to avoid costs to retain voice acting outside Japan.
Oh yea the bunny has awesome cut scenes. Today he was all fan-bunnying over The Able Sisters from Animal Crossing. And the Pokemon battle he had with me (x D).
Isn't another bunny the salesman of the Streetpass games?

Re: Review: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (Wii U eShop / GBA)
I absolutely loved this game when I played it but I was unable to conquer all territory. Hopefully I will get this copy and completely finish the game.
Haven't finished A2 yet but loved every moment of it as well
Re: Video: Nintendo Introduces the Battle Mechanics of Fire Emblem Fates
@Gerbwmu
@yokokazuo
@AVahne
Not ALL strategy but yes, it has become simpler.
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
@whodatninja
Ouch. I just found out that the game is not Dual Audio unlike Awakening.... Why... why!! First Xenoblade X and now this...
And as you said, bad news for the Genei Ibun Roku #FE localization -_-
Re: Video: Nintendo Introduces the Battle Mechanics of Fire Emblem Fates
@FRANKLIN_BADGE
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
@Malachite
She is totally supposed to be creepy. She is inspired from an equally creepy character in Awakening. Yes they re-used 3+ designs in this game.
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
@DarthNocturnal
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
@Mogster
I am not hoping for FE remakes from now on...
Re: Platinum Games Celebrates its Ten Year Anniversary
Oh Platinum Games, one of my favourite action studios!
Played the Wonderful 101 and absolutely loved it. Metal Gear Rising was also amazing! Can't wait to get the Bayonetta games after trying that demo.
Here's to more anniversaries to come and more amazing games! I really need to get my hands on more of their games!
Re: Monster Hunter X (Cross) Sales Hit 3.2 Million as Capcom Talks Up 'Firm' Overseas Results
@IceClimbers
Beyond insane.. definitely. All 7th and 8th gen consoles combined barely make 500 million.
Although it is great that Monster Hunter is getting the success it deserves. Love the series. Would love to get my hands on X day 1 when it comes out.
Re: Poll: Which Nintendo Franchises Do You Most Want to See With the NX Launch?
If the NX has a handheld component as well then I would definitely love a Golden Sun. I wouldn't mind it on the home console as well. What's wrong with dreaming?
Otherwise from the poll, Metroid, Kid Icarus and F-Zero A Mario game will probably be there anyway so no need to vote that.
@Cinnamon115
So true. A new Golden Sun please Nintendo! And preferably on an upcoming console (like the original games) rather than a dying one. Another reason why Dark Dawn underperformed was how late it came in the DS's lifespan.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@Shirma_Akayaku
That was a really insightful video. The issue was really blown out of proportion. And this mode was probably removed for the same reason.
I wouldn't have used it but I still hate censorship...
This feature should have never belonged in Fire Emblem in the first place though >.< Intelligent Systems, what are you doing to the franchise!!? sob
Re: Hands On: Seeking an Awakening in Fire Emblem Fates
@Chaoz
@AVahne
Edit: I still wouldn't FE on mobile >.<
Re: Video: Watch Cats Attempt Various Monster Hunter Related Activities
Wow those cats are sure pretty useful xD Thank goodness Felynes are cute and hard-working! Not super useful but much better in MH4U.
@DarthNocturnal
Some types of felynes can be pretty useful. I am using a mounting cat now. Helps in those mounts with not IG weapons.
And given it the demon horn so I get might seed effects regularly without having to remember to eat one every 2 minutes.
Re: Video: Relive the Glorious Madness of The Wonderful 101 With the 60fps Director's Edition Trailer
@MrA-Game
And the name of the finishing move xD
Re: Video: Relive the Glorious Madness of The Wonderful 101 With the 60fps Director's Edition Trailer
@MrA-Game
Oh yea the ending. That ending was epic, funny and cheesy all at the same time.
I always kept wondering when that boss battle would end haha! That was one helluva fight!
I really want to go replay this game on a harder difficulty this time. One of the best games on the Wii U, sadly it is overlooked by many.
Re: Video: How to Get a Skell in Xenoblade Chronicles X, Including Locations of Rare Items
@shani
Re: Video: How to Get a Skell in Xenoblade Chronicles X, Including Locations of Rare Items
@shani
Re: Video: How to Get a Skell in Xenoblade Chronicles X, Including Locations of Rare Items
@rishisquid
Different divisions basically influence the type of support you can get in battle (a fixed percentage) and the primary way to earn points which obviously get you division rewards from the network console (prospectors broken >.<).
Sadly the DLC skells are not available at frame level 60 -_-
Re: Editorial: Xenoblade Chronicles X Has Tiny Text - Time for an Update?
Re: Poll: Did The Final Video Presentation for Super Smash Bros. Provide a Memorable Ending?
Re: Video: Catch Up With All The Super Smash Bros. Final Presentation Footage
@AlexSora89
And Isaac was also almost complete as well -_-
Re: Nintendo Confirms Details for the Super Smash Bros. Direct
@AlexSora89
Heh heh, thanks.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Details for the Super Smash Bros. Direct
@AlexSora89
Actually Golden Sun has two tracks in the Wii U version of the game.
#IsaacForSm4sh
Re: Nintendo Confirms Details for the Super Smash Bros. Direct
Re: Xenoblade X Art Designers Created the Game's Armor Sets with Samurai in Mind
@AVahne
I already sold everyone's starting equipment as well. I do think however that you might eventually get a palette swap or a very similar piece of equipment later on in the game appearance wise. Same thing happened near the end of Xenoblade with a lot of armour being similar in appearance to the originals they had.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Earns Modest UK Chart Position But Outsells Predecessor
(TV is not a problem since off TV! play).
GoTY definitely!
Re: Guide: Getting Started With Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U
Finally managed to download the game!
What I find annoying however is that I can't have audio through my headphones without mirroring the main screen on my gamepad, hence having no map and 2nd screen stuff. Is there anyway to get around it without having to go to off-screen mode?
Re: Guide: Getting Started With Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U
@Zetro
Used my home WiFi connection to download around half when the internet disconnected and instead of pausing like it should, the game decided to get its data corrupted. Thought it was a one off error, happened twice again with my tethered connection.
Finally changed settings to static IP and Google's DNS servers, hopefully download completes this time. My data limit is about to get over as well -_-
Re: Splatoon And Super Mario Maker Honoured At The Game Awards 2015
Wait so how good is this "Lara Croft Go"?
I am not surprised that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate didn't win the award, but it was definitely worthy of it, being the amazing game it is!
It might not be as easily accessible but still huge disappointment there -_-
Splatoon was some good news I didn't expect though. Good for Nintendo. Love that shooter, hate the occasional lag >.<
Re: Guide: Getting Started With Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U
My game data has failed to download thrice. And the data somehow managed to corrupt each time.
Torture for me as well!!!
Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd December (North America)
Bought Xeno X and trying to preload it since yesterday -_- Download errors happening and downloading restarting due to corrupt data. Gahh!
Hopefully it downloads by today, want to get in the game as soon as it does!
Re: Monster Hunter X Has Outsold Monster Hunter 4G on the Japanese 3DS eShop
Re: Video: Did You Know Gaming? Covers Golden Sun
@AlexSora89
It's always nice to see an underrepresented (golden) franchise like Golden Sun get more coverage like this.
Plus I was looking forward to see some details I didn't know about. Didn't know about the Beyond game as well as how the idea for GS 3 came out to be (maybe that's why sort of messed a golden chance to revive the series).
Re: Video: Did You Know Gaming? Covers Golden Sun
@mjc0961
Re: Video: Did You Know Gaming? Covers Golden Sun
@Trinexx
Well actually the Golden Sun games are not that long with the first game being around 20 hours with full completion and Golden Sun 2 lasting around 30.
Re: Video: Did You Know Gaming? Covers Golden Sun
@Captain_Gonru
Please no. Plus I doubt that Nintendo will go for some relatively unknown franchise over their mainstays, even for mobile titles. RPGs just won't cut it much especially a turn based one.
Re: Square Enix Offers Black Friday Deals, Live Now, on Its Official North American Store
All of the games I want are now in waiting list -_-
Re: Square Enix Offers Black Friday Deals, Live Now, on Its Official North American Store
Re: Video: Let This Xenoblade Chronicles X Battle Trailer Get Your Blood Pumping
@BulbasaurusRex
Hey I am not saying that my second argument is very reasonable. But that is what lot of fans want, despite not knowing the language, so tell that to them
Re: Nintendo of America Confirms Its Black Friday eShop Cyber Deals
@rjejr
Ooh nice. Thanks for the heads up, but I live outside the US (no Nintendo presence here) and use an imported Wii U so I have to sort of rely on digital games cause shipping and customs otherwise add up -_-
And it is unavailable online so can't grab it.
Re: Nintendo of America Confirms Its Black Friday eShop Cyber Deals
Not bad I guess, but I was expecting more, maybe too much considering Nintendo's track record with deals.
I might pick up Windwaker HD and Awakening. Was really hoping for Bayonetta 2 as well but guess I will have to put down $60 for the two. Not saying that Bayonetta 1+2 are not worth the price, they are definitely amazing (loved the demo!!! plus I loved the DMC games and Wonderful 101), but limited budget and so many games to play -_-
Re: Video: Let This Xenoblade Chronicles X Battle Trailer Get Your Blood Pumping
@BulbasaurusRex
Re: Poll: Nintendo's Free-to-Play Experiments - Are You Still Playing?
Oh yea the bunny has awesome cut scenes. Today he was all fan-bunnying over The Able Sisters from Animal Crossing. And the Pokemon battle he had with me (x D).
Isn't another bunny the salesman of the Streetpass games?
Re: Poll: Nintendo's Free-to-Play Experiments - Are You Still Playing?
I sort of play Pokemon Shuffle regularly, although the difficulty has spiked a lot at where I am.
Never touched Rumble World. Badge Arcade is great, just not going to spend on it. Free plays for the win!
