I live in europe-distribution-land germany. I ordered a 2nd one a week ago because I wanted to try out the Hakchi method you´ve reported about, just incase something would go wrongö Today my retailer called me that my Nes Mini can get picked up. Never saw any on the shelves, but both times I ordered one, one time in December, now in February, I have got one within one week of waiting. The hakchi works flawless with 60 games in total, dont know if i should still pick up the 2nd Nes Mini now. For your information, all!
In the way shown in the video of transfering roms to your nes mini, will the games be played in the exact same way like the pre-installed 30 games? that means in the same screen quality with the enhanced perfect-pixel mode etc. and will the nes mini keep offering save-state options to the new added games aswell not losing the ability to the pre-installed 30 games?
@8itmap_k1d The kind of eShop what Nintendo has today they could continue to use on switch, or whatever similar. I didn´t mean the eshop should share it´s softwares with the open downloadable app-platforms of the casual mobile devices, I´m pretty sure you could make sure it works as 2 different platforms on the switch. The eshop as itself and the google download platform seperately. So you could both play free mainstream games aswell as choosing to play and buy nintendo games on the nintendo hardware. Only nintendo would offer that when using nintendos own exclusive "tablet" = the switch. The normal tablets and smartphones still wouldn´t have access to the nintendo games
Nintendo is with the Switch, trying to appeal to as many possible consumers, who likes to play digital games in all kinds of ways, not just the traditional gamers and also to the younger generations who knows mobile gaming, but maybe only traditional video-gaming if their parents have introduced them to. So now to my point: To achieve this broad audience, Nintendo has to make sure its Switch will also offer the same content as the smart phones and tablets, else switch wont win over those people. That means that the Switch will have to offer all these free apps and games through google plus or google downüoad or what its called, like what my 10 year old daugther is prefering over consoles. Todays parents who weren´t growing up to like video gaming that much won´t necessarily bring home a console to it´s house, they rather give the newest smartphone or tablet to their children so they don´t have to involve that much in it´s childrens games-playing. It´s way cheaper and you don´t have to visit the media store frequently to buy expensive video games. Also todays children in the west interacts more online while playing than they would actually meet eachother to play infront of a consoüe together. Conclusion: The switch has to offer traditional video gaming as a home console and as a handeld + the same features like todays mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets to achieve to all those audiences that nintendo actually attends to do
Since we slowly don't seem to get FE:Fates in Europe, or a release date. Maybe we europeans should start to hype up for this game instead, as I can't ignore that Bravely Default is one of my best RPG experiences on the 3DS. Clocked 87 hours with the 1st game halfthrough till the story wants you to repeat stuff again so to speak. Is it worth continueing finishing off the 1st one once it start to repeat itself? Would do it to build up hype for this one, or I would play FE:Awakening again.
@A01 You forgot there was the Super Gameboy for the SNES aswell, to be able to play your gameboy games on your tv with colorlike colors of the gameboy color =)
I've never played a Dragon Quest game and I live in Europe and have been growing up with NES, SNES and N64. Here in Europe you never got to experience anything what Dragon Quest is about, I think? And if it's not the kind of game friends were talking about. If it got talked about RPG's Final Fantasy would be the talking-theme. I assume Dragon Quest games started to appear in Europe first with the DS-Era.
So now to my question, since there are so many RPG's out there for 3DS and the DS, what makes Dragon Quest good in comparion to other RPG franchises? If I get convinced and decides to pick up an entry to check out what the fuss is about, can I pick up any entry or would I have to start in a specific order to understand the storylines between sequels/prequels? Are the Dragon Quest games that good, which ones are the best and which one should I start to pick up? Maybe the upcoming ones as firsts?
Maybe with the NX working as a smart-phone/cloud thing Nintendo will let other companies make advertising while we are playing the games to make profit. Think of how horrible that would be.
Ofcourse the game looks faster and smoother on the New 3DS than the original, therefore I'm happy to have the new one. But still I think it looks playable on the older ones. You get what you pay for so to speak.
Thanks FubumblR and wazlon for the long and well explained answers. Sounds very interesting, and sounds like a kind of way that would motivate me to keep playing the game. For just the hack and slashing without a rewarding system, the game would look a bit too stale and monotone for my tastes. I do not have a Wii U so I would get the 3DS version.
To the people who haven't played Twilight Princess yet and are against this Amiibo-locking-away-content-kind-of-thinking and are telling themselves this might be a good deal. Even cheaper you could buy the Nintendo collects Wii version as new physical retail for around €20, maybe even cheaper. Those who haven't played Twilight Princess yet, why getting the game now suddenly? Because of the Amiibo? That's rediculous. Then you don't even have a connection to the Wolf-Link and Midna anyway. By the way, playing as Wolf-Link I think have been the most turn off moment to me in my all Zelda experiences, it doesn't have the Zelda feeling at all. Twilight Princess might be one of the worst Zelda entries. I enjoyed Skyward sword even more.
Spoiler Ahead!: However you wan't to see Ganon when playing Zelda. Ganondorf/Ganon appears first at the end of Twilight Princess, turning out being the "Zant" in it's twilight world. I would have prefered being teased/confronted by Ganondorf frequently like in ocarina of time. I hope the Wii U version will bring back some nostalgic ideas and not continue to try to "re-evolve" way too much like Twilight Princess and Skyward sword have been trying.
So I've never played the Wii U version. What is this retro-map-walking all about?, shown in the beginning of the video. I do understand it's something about what kinds of achievements you have been completing, it for sure also gives a nostalgic moment from the 1st Zelda game, is it also around in the Wii U version? The Fairy-Mode seems to be something for the female audience. Something I will completely ignore if I do get the game.
@NoEasyBuckets Ok thx, I will have to consider it more before deciding, I will wait for player opinions and reviews aswell. Speaking of that many games are repititive. MH4U I did enjoy a lot because it's challenging and rewarding both. Does Hyrule warriors atleast reward you somehow, that motivates you in some kind of way to want you to proceed with the game?
@A01 The content the Wii U offers is much the same from the Wii formula, sequels of already existing franschises which the Wii offers aswell, not much was new and exciting, the only games that woul interest me are Xenoblade X, Super Mario Maker and the Donkey Kong game. Although the Wii offers so much more than the Wii U, and since then I'm just fine just with a Wii as a Nintendo home console untill the time Nintendo decides to think of something new to attract its older consumerbase.
So i do own a New 3ds XL and haven't played the Wii U version (skipping this gens Nintendo home console due it's lack of success/content), is the game fun? Is the Wii U version entertaining? I would be happy to have a game that take advantage of my new 3ds, the 3ds version looks good... but.. it looks so easy, I mean, the foes doesn't do any harm to your character, judging from the videos I've been watching. The game just seems to be hack and slashing and way too easy. What's the fun about it? Another question; Is it only a single player experience or will the 3ds version involve online multiplayer aswell?
@Aeruon The game exists since last year. If u didn't buy it already I don't think you ever would. The Amiibo-announcement exists since August this year, till then nobody was aware of anything being "locked away". And since it's launch the makers intend to make new campaigns for this one game which it's latest DLC was completely for free and around the same big of content as the game previous was. To me that's just rediculous how you can think like that.
@iggly You can pnly use the shovel knight amiibo for the shovel knight campaigns and not for plague of shadows. While leveling my amiibo to lvl 50 i played the new game+ campaign. In this game you actually play as your amiibo, which isn´t the case of super smash. It´s kinda fun to play as the custom knight, offers kinda cool new abilities that wasnt accessible before, the amiibo gives a bit more complexity and depth to ur character. To the relics u normally have 12, with the amiibo u will unlock extra 9.
So now when Shovel Knight isn't coming to Smash. Is it still worth to get a Shovel Knight Amiibo if u just got a 3ds with no multiplayer?? Got one waiting for me at a store, would have to pay first when picking it up. I'm afraid the 3ds's uses of the Amiibo ain't worth it.
I didn't quite enjoy the 1st Turok game but the 2nd on N64 which I also have in my library. The 2nd one got a very dark story and the difficulty is quite hard, never managed to beat the game completely but I guess almost. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are the best shooters for N64 although! Would be cool to re-experience those Rareware titles on new Nintendo consoles any time. Maybe with the eventually started companionship between Nintendo and Microsoft, it might one day so turn out.
I voted for 2 games as favorite 3DS games of 2015; MH4U & Codename S.T.E.A.M. My 3rd choice would be Shovel Knight as the game got released this year (physical retail). I never played it before the physical release, Shovel Knight definitively deserves/should be on the list, it`s now my favorite 2D platformer franchise next to Megaman.
With Wii U I`ve never bothered. The only game that could tempt me to buy ine would be for Xenoblade X, else I`m still fine with the Wii for me and my daughter.
Overall GOTY definitely MH4U, clocked over 400 hours and I`m still enjoying grinding after relics-weapons/DLC Armorsets. Hopefully MHX will get a western release asap.
It all sounds nice how they are trying to appeal to casual potential customers to try to widen their audiences of their IP's. But I'm afraid that their IP's are not, or Nintendo in general, is not popular enough to be able to enter all kinds of markets like theme parks, merchandise etc. Nintendo is a gaming company and do today appeal to the gaming audience and not much more. Sure they make family friendly games to appeal more to families and children. I'm afraid by trying to enter these new markets, due to poor proper marketing, Nintendo will fail and will make the end of the company. I guess they have enough money to promote their stuff, but they were always too greedy to spend on promoting, and by now I think it's too late for it, they should have done it long time ago. They should just simply focus at what they have done right in the past + a bit more. To appeal to all gaming customers; Families, Sportfans, grownup audience aswell.
I'm pretty sure that Nintendo will try to join the mobile market completely. I think NX will be a kind of smart phone to try to appeal to the smartphone customers who doens't consume handhelds or gaming consoles. And that the NX will be able to play 3DS games aswell, to justify the new consoles slow releasing of new software (There are enough 3DS games already). So more or less A New Smartphone 3DS XS.
I just got Super Mario 3d Land with the post today for my daugther as a christmas present which I bought used on eBay for €26. That's pretty much the same price as the the eShop deal from Nintendo and we now got the game as physical which is ofcourse preferable. Those considering picking up 3D Land through this offer, consider eBay used instead.
From watching videos and screens from the games gameplay, it's seems to be a mix between Codename S.T.E.A.M. and Worms. In my opinion Codename S.T.E.A.M. is a good game, so it is meant as a compliment.
@imageform
I would also prefer a physical copy. But if the download version means half of the price from a physical, makes the download offer pretty nice. Having the 6 original nes titles on the go for 15 euros are worth it
I would like to see a bit more of the gameplay from the game. But from what I've seen from the Direct this seems to be a game for me. A Monsterhunter like co-op game with the final fantasy as theme, awesome! The multiplayer for MH4U works brilliant with very few connection errors. For those who experience connectionproblems with Triforce heroes shouldn't stop considering this game, cuz online multiplayer on 3ds can be handeled very well.
@Sillygostly: Just like Street Fighter or Mega Man, The Final Fantasy series aswell started their "video-gameproducing-career" on Nintendo consoles. Cloud just happen to be the most famous and rememberable of all FF-characters. I personally prefer the smash team to put in Cloud over any other Final Fantasy character and I also prefer them puting in one of the most "important" gaming character in the industry to the roster before throwing in any other boring and irrelevant nintendo-own-character (as there isn't enough of them already from nintendo) Since you don't even know who Cloud is (can't really understand you then being bothered from the character), which is your favourite yet to join, makes me wonder?
To Others: Why craving for characters from this gen to the smash roster who barely have any video-game preferences than just the present? To me it's important that when they pick a third party character, it better be a huge one and a rememberable one from the complete gaming history and not just from one present appearance because it has been on a Nintendo console.
@thesilverbrick You don't have to buy another console to be able to play FF7. I have it for pc, as it was originally releasead for pc together with for playstation
The only real pokemon. Pokemon red is the only pokemon I had and played. My daugther had Pokemon Omega Ruby but after whatching and realizing how bad the series have become since my early pokemon flirt. I have to download one of those old ones again to be able to enjoy it once more. I've lost my old copy so..
I don't think Cloud was voted from the ballot, I think it's a cooperation to promote future coming games on nintendo consoles. Cloud is a great character choice however =)
Minecraft is probably not a game which is supposed to excite the grownup gamers, but the children from the grownups. Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc. are games that we grownupds and now as parents grew up with, therefore those games excite us when getting revealed from Nintendo. I'm pretty sure all the wii u owners who have children and do not own more consoles are very happy with the minecraft reveal. Maybe my daugther now finally will wish herself a wii u, since her friends are owning other consoles with minecraft to it, so i also get the chance to play xenoblade x =)
Sticking to the idea that the plattformer genre seem to be the best fit for a "maker-game", the second most natural choice after Super Mario would be Donkey Kong. Then lets bring Rare and Retro together for a Donkey Kong Country Maker =)
According to european CET the ballot is running another 30 min. I waited till the very last end to vote, and ended up voting for Banjo Kazooie. The most iconic and important character to the plattform / jump 'n run-genre, besides Mario and Donkey Kong on Nintendo platforms.
It is a great game, fun and addictive. But it doesn't last forever. There comes a point where you feel you have done everything, or you don't feel you can progress more than just keep geting new kinds of armorsets. Once you have been claimed the biggest G-Rank crown, the game is more or less done. I would be happy if I still had a flame for the game, unfortunately got bored after 340 hours, cuz the gameplay is very much the same throughout the whole game. And there are so many other great games you don't want to miss out bcuz of only playing MH hundreds of hours. Although I would be happy with a new MH game, will be a day-one purchase for sure! =)
Does the White Fatalis actually offers something good, to make it come back to the game for a while? Else I might just come back when the G-Rank Dalamadur quest launches, the best paralyze weapons in the game would be a must have.
Now you can get extra 750 Stars when linking your Nintendo ID Network with your Club Nintendo account! That made me able to order the Mario Kart 8 Soundtrack! Wooohoo finally, such luck.
@Jayvir: Capcom seems to like the letter X (Or number ? :S), then maybe we will be geting X, X2, X3 like for the Mega Man series =). That's a lot of Monster Hunter games coming up (or expanded versions of the same main-game)
For MH4U I was mainly using the hammer. Close up the Great Sword, and alternatively the Switch-Axe. If this games comes to europe, and if it turns out to be as good as the main series, I think I will main Hunting Horn this time =)
@Caryslan But we all know how little Nintendo cares for Samus. Bad in Smash, no proper Metroid game, and the upcoming Metroid don't even include her, atleast not as a playable character. And the Amiibo they made look like a empty-hole shopping-window puppet.

Re: Nintendo of Europe Launches Its Cyber Deals Weekend With Four Major eShop Discounts
Re: Gallery: Image & Form Shows Off More SteamWorld Heist 3DS Screenshots
From watching videos and screens from the games gameplay, it's seems to be a mix between Codename S.T.E.A.M. and Worms. In my opinion Codename S.T.E.A.M. is a good game, so it is meant as a compliment.
@imageform
Re: This Handsome Infographic Shows Off All The Job Roles in Final Fantasy Explorers
@crazedcavalier
If its so close to a MH title then I´m anyway more than happy. Then we got something to enjoy till MH cross gets released
Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection Gets a Budget Price as a Download-Only Release in Europe
I would also prefer a physical copy. But if the download version means half of the price from a physical, makes the download offer pretty nice. Having the 6 original nes titles on the go for 15 euros are worth it
Re: Amazon Lists Pokémon Red, Yellow And Blue At 10 Bucks A Pop
For 10 euros per version, I won't buy the games again.
Re: Square Enix Confirms Details of Gorgeous Final Fantasy Explorers Collector's Edition
Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Is Set To Cause Some Strife In Super Smash Bros. On Wii U And 3DS
@Sillygostly:
Just like Street Fighter or Mega Man, The Final Fantasy series aswell started their "video-gameproducing-career" on Nintendo consoles. Cloud just happen to be the most famous and rememberable of all FF-characters. I personally prefer the smash team to put in Cloud over any other Final Fantasy character and I also prefer them puting in one of the most "important" gaming character in the industry to the roster before throwing in any other boring and irrelevant nintendo-own-character (as there isn't enough of them already from nintendo)
Since you don't even know who Cloud is (can't really understand you then being bothered from the character), which is your favourite yet to join, makes me wonder?
To Others:
Why craving for characters from this gen to the smash roster who barely have any video-game preferences than just the present?
To me it's important that when they pick a third party character, it better be a huge one and a rememberable one from the complete gaming history and not just from one present appearance because it has been on a Nintendo console.
Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Is Set To Cause Some Strife In Super Smash Bros. On Wii U And 3DS
@thesilverbrick
You don't have to buy another console to be able to play FF7. I have it for pc, as it was originally releasead for pc together with for playstation
Re: Pokémon Red, Blue & Yellow Are Coming To The 3DS Virtual Console 27th February 2016
Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Is Set To Cause Some Strife In Super Smash Bros. On Wii U And 3DS
I don't think Cloud was voted from the ballot, I think it's a cooperation to promote future coming games on nintendo consoles. Cloud is a great character choice however =)
Re: Minecraft Wii U Edition Has Been Rated By PEGI
Minecraft is probably not a game which is supposed to excite the grownup gamers, but the children from the grownups. Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc. are games that we grownupds and now as parents grew up with, therefore those games excite us when getting revealed from Nintendo.
I'm pretty sure all the wii u owners who have children and do not own more consoles are very happy with the minecraft reveal. Maybe my daugther now finally will wish herself a wii u, since her friends are owning other consoles with minecraft to it, so i also get the chance to play xenoblade x =)
Re: Super Mario Maker Developers Talk About the Recent Update and Other Potential "Maker" Games
Sticking to the idea that the plattformer genre seem to be the best fit for a "maker-game", the second most natural choice after Super Mario would be Donkey Kong. Then lets bring Rare and Retro together for a Donkey Kong Country Maker =)
Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: The Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot Ends, a Naughty Splatoon Octoling and More
According to european CET the ballot is running another 30 min.
I waited till the very last end to vote, and ended up voting for Banjo Kazooie. The most iconic and important character to the plattform / jump 'n run-genre, besides Mario and Donkey Kong on Nintendo platforms.
Re: Super-Hard Platformer Volgarr The Viking Set To Pillage Wii U And 3DS eShops
it looks cooler than Shovel Knight
Re: Mario History: Super Mario Bros. - 1985
"Changing the gaming industry forever", rather starting, or kicking off the industry.
Re: Video: Capcom Launches Cute Monster Hunter Training Academy Series
Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate's August DLC Ramps Up the Challenge
Does the White Fatalis actually offers something good, to make it come back to the game for a while? Else I might just come back when the G-Rank Dalamadur quest launches, the best paralyze weapons in the game would be a must have.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Soundtrack CD Club Nintendo Reward Powerslides Into View
Now you can get extra 750 Stars when linking your Nintendo ID Network with your Club Nintendo account! That made me able to order the Mario Kart 8 Soundtrack! Wooohoo finally, such luck.
Re: Capcom Continues to Go Big With a Monster Hunter X Limited Edition and New Trailers
@Jayvir:
Capcom seems to like the letter X (Or number ? :S), then maybe we will be geting X, X2, X3 like for the Mega Man series =). That's a lot of Monster Hunter games coming up (or expanded versions of the same main-game)
Re: Capcom Continues to Go Big With a Monster Hunter X Limited Edition and New Trailers
For MH4U I was mainly using the hammer. Close up the Great Sword, and alternatively the Switch-Axe. If this games comes to europe, and if it turns out to be as good as the main series, I think I will main Hunting Horn this time =)
Re: Eager Fans Have Broken Down Fighter Changes in Super Smash Bros. Version 1.1.0
@Caryslan
But we all know how little Nintendo cares for Samus. Bad in Smash, no proper Metroid game, and the upcoming Metroid don't even include her, atleast not as a playable character. And the Amiibo they made look like a empty-hole shopping-window puppet.
Re: Video: Classic N64 Stages Make a Triumphant Return in Super Smash Bros.
Does the 3ds version of peach´s castle also include 4-5 classic super mario soundtracks, or does only the wii u version?
