SteamWorld Heist is due to arrive on the 3DS eShop in December, and as the latest entry in the series to follow SteamWorld Dig is sure to gain plenty of attention when it lands. As those that have been following it will be well aware, however, this 2D turn-based strategy title is a notable departure for the series.
Developer Image & Form recently had some exposure for the game in the Nintendo Direct broadcasts, and has followed up this week with some new screens showing off the portable version - though it's coming to 3DS first, it's also due on Wii U and various other platforms in the future.
You can check out those that Image & Form is most pleased with below and can view them in 3D on your 3DS by scanning the QR code; you can also see even more over on the game's official website.
Is this on your December download wishlist?

cant wait also, looks realy fun
Very interested in playing this one.
Can't wait. Will be day one for me.
This is looking great. Count me in!
Tbh, this probably one of, if not my most hyped game of the holiday season.
This and Dementium: Remastered are going to make December awesome.
These new screenshots are gorgeous! I'm absolutely psyched for SteamWorld Heist on 3DS. Image & Form is fast becoming my favourite indie developer!
@TimeGuy Hoping the European release of Dementium Remastered isn't too far behind. You're right, these two games are all a 3DS owner needs right now.
Just wanted to send all of you our warmest regards! Thanks for supporting us! /The entire Image & Form team
From watching videos and screens from the games gameplay, it's seems to be a mix between Codename S.T.E.A.M. and Worms. In my opinion Codename S.T.E.A.M. is a good game, so it is meant as a compliment.

@Konda yo! Thanks for the love. I'll reply in English so more people can read it. I hope that's OK
No demo. It would mean delaying the game for us to make a separate demo/preview release. We might consider it for future titles, though. But not this time.
The game has five different difficulty settings ranging from casual to extremely challenging. The higher difficulty levels require a lot of strategic thinking. Especially when it comes to building your team, equipping them with weapons and upgrades, using their unique abilities in battle as well as analyzing your opponents' weaknesses.
Playtime is ranging between 20 to 25 hours on a normal playthrough. But you can easily play for 30+ hours if you want to experience everything the game has to offer

First of all, much love from the States. I loved SteamWorld Dig, so much so, that I bought it twice (3DS and Wii U versions). You guys have a great thing going over there, and this spin on your prior release is even more up my ally. I love building teams, swapping weapons, etc. I am just curious. Is there currently an aim to make the two versions different from each other (3DS and Wii U), or are they going to be the same experience (meaning no extra features, and just an HD upgrade)? Also, do you have a rough idea (not looking for anything overly specific) when the Wii U one will release? If I recall, when you made SteamWorld Dig, your team had to essentially rebuild characters and animations, etc. Is this release going to involve those same requirements?
Again, this is merely for the sake of curiosity. You can consider this game bought by me already.
Alright so this is looking cooler all the time. Might have to get it.
