Natsume has confirmed that River City: Tokyo Rumble will launch on the 3DS in North America on September 27th.
Developed by Arc System Works, the game will be released in physical and digital formats, and those who order a copy from Natsume's new Amazon store will receive a limited edition Kunio keychain.
Here's a little snippet of the official PR:
River City: Tokyo Rumble follows the story of a hot-blooded high school student named Kunio and his good friends. When a nefarious gang moves into Tokyo to try to take it over, it's up to this self-proclaimed "fighter for justice" and his buddies to make sure the streets stay safe! Players will punch, kick, and use a variety of weapons such as soccer balls, iron knuckles, chains, and even bicycles to knock some sense into those devious gang members. Taking on jobs, leveling up abilities, and stopping for a snack or two at local food joints are just some of the action-packed mayhem players will experience. Luckily, smiles are free!
And this is what the keychain looks like:

Hopefully Europe gets a physical release, my SD card is getting full and I don't fancy buying a 128GB one.
Hells yeah!
Love River city ransom. This will be a day 1 purchase for me
Any chance it ever makes it to a home console?
Can't wait for EU release!
The Amazon link doesn't work. Did they take it down already?
@shaneoh
Speaking of which, I take advantage of this topic in order to ask again @Knuckles how can I get a big MicroSD card to work on my 3DS. It was something about Fat32 formatting, wasn't it?
This game looks awesome. This is one of my most anticipated games coming out. I like some beatem ups. Streets of Rage, Double Dragon. Can't wait!
Physical for sure! What retailers will carry it? I've checked GS and it doesn't show up.
Physical purchase for me! Also the amazon link is broken.
X-cellent!!!!!
I'll grab this one digital. It's not the type of game I need a physical version of. No need for me to take a copy away from a collector looking to pick up that key chain.
@AlexSora89 yes, you need to format it to fat32 from exFat, that's the only way the 3DS will read it and anything higher then 32 is exFat.
I'm using a 200GB Sandisk ultra uh-I class 10 myself
@AlexSora89 @Zemus-DJ speaking of that SanDisk it's on sale on Amazon today if you need an extra.
FI-NAL-LY!!! Been waiting forever for at least one of these RCR games to come out!
Please tell me it's coming to EU (and soon) ... One of my favourite serie since I played Wold Cup Soccer when I was 10 lol...
As Homer would say "I would pay 1000000 dollars for this !"...
Can't wait !!!
Physical format? I didn't know there was going to be one, I might just pick that up instead.
Will psychical format reach Europe?
I will be all over this and fear this will become my "de facto" 3DS game for quite some time.
broken amazon link
@7yL3r8 @Zemus-DJ
Precious information. Thank you both, guys!
Does anyone know where to order the physical version?
Physical if I can get one.
So is this a side-scroller beet'em up?
Natsume has confirmed that the game will be digital-only in Europe, unfortunately. The price seems to be 30€ and it comes out September 29.

@AlexSora89 download easeus formatter just type easeUs in Google. I currently use that and it works like a charm!
Blah blah blah... North America!
Now you're speaking my language.😃
@CanisWolfred Same here! Have you seen the River City Ransom Underground trailer? It looks even better than this in my opinion, and there's still a chance to see it on the 3DS. Either way I'm still getting this.

@Andremario
Taking notes right now. Thank you!
@roy130390 - Sure, I'd be up for that, too... so long as that song, or songs of a similar nature, will never actually be in the game. That was one of the worst songs I've heard this week, and that includes some lesser tracks from the Digimon Movie (the footage wasn't the only thing cobbled together, that's for sure).
@CanisWolfred Oh, don't worry, they'll keep the classic music and bit sounds of the game. Even Yoshihisa Kishimoto (original creator of Kunio-Kun and Double Dragon) is working as creative consultant
@roy130390 That is a genuine relief, thank you!
finally finally finally some good news for the 3DS ... and yes, definately physical. Digital-only in europe is a joke but then again its not that hard to unlock the 3DS anyway.
That amazon link is dead
Edit: There is actually no "keychain" pre-order for this game available as this "Keychain Bundle" will go on sale at launch. Just some retailers are offering pre-order just for the game same like you can pre-order everything you want. Thats why the link will REMAIN dead until the 27th
And yep, the keychain stuff is an usa exclusive release.
STILL confused if the creation of this was prompted by the indie RCR: Underground initiative...
It says unavailable on Amazon
@AlexSora89 You need to Fat32 format any SD card over 32GB to work on a 3DS.
@Knuckles
Thank you, kind Angel Islander.
picking it up in a month and buying it
