This has me worried, /Nintendo/ has already chosen the DLC, instead of Sakurai. Which probably means we will get a Fire Emblem character, Steve from Minecraft, generic Fortnite character etc...So odds are we won't be getting any /out there/ characters and or the characters will be so far /out there/, people will just turn their heads and wonder who and why "X" is in the game.
As for the Mii costumes not being DLC, I always wondered why Mii's got all the costumes and NOT the characters. Where's Dry Bowser, Boshi, Mewtwo with the "armor" from the movie. etc...I would much rather have those.

  I would easily give up a chance to have /all/ of my top ten characters, for this one.

Was this seriously asked recently or something? Of course Nintendo doesn't and shouldn't do cross-play with it's first party titles, that would mean people could get those first party titles on devices that isn't Nintendo, thus making them non-first party.

Despite this not changing my getting the game or the fact it doesn't change the game in any meaningful way, I find the decision to be a poor one. Give someone an inch and they'll take a mile. I wouldn't doubt if Mario was next for "misinterpreting Italians" or something like that.

Looks like fun, but dang it, why can we not play as the monsters -.-?

Wonder if this means we'll finally get that open world Pokemon game people have been asking for, for years.
Though I would personally like Pokemon games to have the combat of Pokken, cause it actually feels like a Pokemon battle, than the turned-based combat does.

Disappointed Birdo didn't make it in -_-...but I was already hooked with the inclusion of Ridley, so everyone else is just icing...a lot of icing, like a Diabeetus amount.

So long as the Fighter's Pass covers ALL dlc, it's a good deal to me, especially since the fighters won't be echo's.
I mean, isn't it like $5 a character in most fighting games? Factor in a stage and music, each standalone dlc seems worth the price, plus the game is already full of characters and content from the get-go, so you don't have to feel the need to even get it.

Not saying I don't like Piranha Plant, but...a potted plant got in as a playable character over Birdo...I am saddened to say the least -_-

A bit disheartening, but still nice to see included.

Movies are great, T.V shows are decent, the games have sucked horrendously.

And yet not a peep for Birdo. That is unacceptable!

I never cared for alternate versions of characters already in a game, least not ones that are virtually the same with one difference. Mario Aces already has Koopa Troopa, so I don't care for one with wings.

Crash Bandicoot is still in the top 10? Jeeeez, you would think it was a new game with a ton of innovation or something for this longevity of popularity.

Also, hasn't Microsoft said that they would love for Banjo to be in Smash? It's very plausible.

Overall, this leak seems legit, the only thing that would make it more so, is for the Nintendo ninjas to take out those who leaked this. If they don't do anything however, then this could be fake.
Also, kinda hoping its fake, if only because none of these characters generate any hype for me, but thats me being greedy.

Nice, now if other games can start doing this, I would love to play as Bowser, Eggman and a Baron of Hell etc...

Rather have a full, completed game later, than a rushed, botched one sooner.

Uh huh...You do know Nintendo has done online, and better, before, right? With the 3DS, Wii U and arguably the Wii.
Even if they didn't though, they've had more than enough time to see what Mircosoft and Sony have been doing with their online services and learn from them.
Nintendo COULD learn from its mistakes, but there shouldn't have been these types of mistakes to begin with.

More expensive, needs to be put on a plan, every game is digital only, can only play mobile games (which majority are trash), and no first party games like Mario and Zelda? This ought to sell like hot cakes!

To each their own. I'm personally tired of how Pokemon has been the same game for the past 22 years.
Also, look at how well Zelda BoTW and Mario Odyssey did, despite being different from their formula.

Hey, good on them for not giving up on the game. They are already doing something better than some Triple A publishers, cough EA cough.

About dang time, is all I have to say. Pokemon is the stalest franchise Nintendo has at the moment, it seriously needs this. I can also only hope that we have Pokken Tournament type of combat and heck, let us just play as the Pokemon, boot the trainers.

Hey, this looks more interesting than the previous games. The "trainer" actually gets involved with the fight instead of just barking orders and its not turned based so if you get hit by an attack, its because you didn't dodge. Wish Pokemon did that =/

I find this chart top be extremely disturbing. CoD being the most anticipated game, Mario Party is tied with Smash Bros, and Mario Party is above Red Dead Redemption.

If I was to take a guess, it's most likely due to how well it plays, fluid animations, constantly being added to, no loot-boxes and fairly good progression rewards. Plus it was one of the first Battle Royal games made after PubG popularized the genre.
I personally don't like BR games in general, but respect what Epic Games did with it.

EDIT: Forgot to give my 2 cents on the topic at hand. I think it's kinda dumb to have a physical copy of a free-to-play game. The only thing that would make it "ok-ish" for me, is if you play off the physical copy instead of digitally downloading it like you would now with Fortnite. /EDIT
