@AndyC_MK84 Backed it, got wary at the minecart, the plot came from the wrong place and didn't have the right spirit, and so I asked for a refund.
I've heard it's mediocre when compared to Banjo-Kazooie, but it might still be serviceable in the same way that Super Lucky's Tale is.
"So with that extra level design complexity also came a slightly more grown-up story, even though it was still intended to be funny and appeal to all ages."
face slap Complete tonal change away from what made nonsense (but whimsical and fun nonsense, it is magic after all) in the first game. You can't possibly take a serious tone with a pair of furballs with no better sense than to live next to a witch's lair with a giant carved head for an entrance. Conker could because it parodied all kinds of things and went for the Ren and Stimpy approach elsewhere.
I will play and replay Banjo-Kazooie for a very long time. I have gotten as far as the first FPS segment in Tooie before becoming bored with the game and fed-up with the tone.
Hold up. The Mega Man team behind 11 said they were already working on the next game a while back. Also, despite mentioning Mega Man Match, there is 0 mention of the upcoming Battle Network mobile vaguely battlechip themed game that is due any day now, not 2022.
ACNH came out piecemeal, with previous games' base content being added after the fact. Free, albeit, unlike SwSh, but that shouldn't be encouraged either, IMO. Give it to Hades or Doom Eternal. 7 Remake was too formulaic, ends on some strange notes (both in terms of story and gameplay), and introduced Kingdom Hearts-like designs that REALLY don't belong.
"The upcoming animation will be viewable early for Switch owners and released on all major platforms and services on ___." That's what I expect given how the last countdown went down.
I will say that, like Metroid, 3D not only helps combat flow better but also allows for more immersion. Having said that, 3D Zelda games have by and large felt "empty" compared to ALttP and ALBW. BotW finally managed that, though, and the 3D formula is much better for it.
Wow, that's a lot of glitch fixes. Makes one appreciate the scope and even complexity of this game. Some might call it "patching a lazily-made game," but when you recall such things as combat mechanics actually do refer to a Z-axis or the very unstable nature of complex coding, you begin to understand how these can happen (despite playtesting).
@Yosher Given the Mii Outfit being missing for so long at such an opportune moment in the franchise's history plus Melville's NDA feels very favorable toward that outcome.
Well, it's a step in the somewhat right direction, so I guess I'm glad that sales followed suit numerically, but hopefully Bug Fables gets it through Nintendo's heads to make a freaking PM1/TTYD-formula game.
Back when that worked and I need a quick hit, it used to be Kirby Superstar Ultra or whatever the most recent Smash game was. If I really needed to get lost in the sauce, it'd be FFTA, FF7, MMBN2, SMRPG, or SM64. There's nothing but hopeless misery left, now.
I enjoyed Pikmin in short bursts via NintendoLand. But, personally, asking me to play it for longer than that and/or with a global time limit is just something I can't do. Good for those that enjoy it, though!
Odyssey is the one time that I was really looking forward to DLC. I remember giving the ending a temporary pass: "Peach turned down Mario's proposal? Yeah, with a smirk — she's clearly got something special planned. Nintendo wouldn't make all of this wedding-themed merch and use this plotline just to fake us out completely and knock Mario that low." They did. Not even a trip to Isle Delfino despite being on the map and even omitted other areas like Kong Island, Diamond City, no mentions of Sarasaland, etc. Trotting the Mario globe was a blast, but I can't say I feel like a round trip after that last sour note.
@BTB20 Your experience with the game isn't the same as everyone else's just like mine isn't. And I didn't say it was terrible. It's a small step in the right direction (albeit two steps back). Hyrule Field is an adventure with meaningful combat and exploration like the top-down games, at last. But it came at several heavy costs. I can only hope BotW2 winds up balancing BotW's approach with the traditional formula (ALBW's "Choose Your Item" blazes at least one trail for that to be made possible) and breaks the pedestal on which BotW sits (should have had better durability).
@BTB20 This is precisely the attitude I'm talking about. Nevermind the lack of fleshing out of NPC villages, or the glitches, or the unintended ways of completing shrines (I don't expect Nintendo to be able to control for player-discovered exploits in the overworld, but shrines are enclosed), or the unrelenting and immersion-breaking thirst of every other female in the game for Link, or the absolute lack of gravitas in...well, anything about the game, varying from the lack of temples to the countless items' awkwardly-outdated durability system to the almost-futility of defeating Calamity Ganon given the circumstances.
Nevermind those things, no, let's just praise the game nonstop because Nintendo's marketing spend demands that we do.
@Aerona For sure, anything that requires lengthy focus, it can be used. There are some others "loopable" songs throughout gaming, too. Korobeiniki while playing 20 levels of Tetris springs to mind (but CD-i Tetris Level 0 is better for general use like study, work, driving, etc.).
As for MvC2, I guess that I wasn't phased by the soundtrack because my focus was on characters that accompanied the jazz well enough — Spiderman, Gambit, Felicia, Morrigan, Mega Man, Roll, etc. I remember wanting MvC3 a year or so before we actually got it on account of playing DMC extensively, but I too was not prepared for the art style and musical tone shift. Was hoping for middle ground between the two approaches. Who knows what the future holds!
@smashboy2000 It is a very, very unusual soundtrack for a fighting game (especially with Marvel characters!!!), but the tracks by themselves have a nice jazzy vibe.
@MrJellySandwich THIS. Honestly, I'm about ready to give SM3DAS to my money-strapped friend sooner than before between the pins and Sunshine rearing its ugly head.
There is no shortage of maddening segments and/or razor-thin margins in Sunshine. Blooper Surfing, last Chuckster, Pachinko stage having the wonkiest physics ever, on and on and on, all exacerbated by an absolutely abhorrent camera.
Glad this was a tropical-themed game in a series that never does theming for its main games, or it'd have been complete garbage. Playing this and Galaxy really make me appreciate how tight Odyssey is.
I lent my 3DSXL to a friend and got it back today. Glad that the eShop will stay up so that I can do things like redownloading SatPC.
240p? 3D? Virtual Console? So disorienting. But I've already dabbled in a little Samus Returns, Shantae GBC, and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse NG+, and it's been comforting.
"It's a political message about child exploitation!" "It's pedophilia!" It's both. Remove it, let leadership fail to deal with it and hold them to the fire for the failure, take a position afterwards, and let's move the **** on. The United States is absolutely paralyzed on account of our """""leadership."""""
As for live action Zelda, I'd prefer a movie instead of a TV show. Fits the franchise's traditional "one game per time period" motif. A season of drama scripted for TV with Zelda characters is just going to bore those audiences and make me barf.
W-wait, why Entei? Was that one separate from the other Gen 2 Pokémon? Or is this about the movie? Because "Let's Go, Entei!" is a comical but ridiculous notion.
I can probably count the number of YouTube videos I've ever Disliked on one hand. And people Disliking things strikes me as odd to begin with, and it's infinitely more baffling when they haven't even watched the darn thing. Today? Ohoho, I SMASHED that Dislike. Re: Random: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Might Include A Popular Zelda CD-i Reference
Morshu's dialogue makes an excellent electronic instrument, surprisingly. Here's two music videos that are a bit, mmm, richer for having sampled him:
Big Beat Radio
https://youtu.be/uhlUbikVqB8
Lamp Oil City Zone (Act 2)
https://youtu.be/aYfUkeWAXHY
Oh and for those hoping for a more direct reference to Morshu, depending upon licensing or copyright maybe, it could be that they can't give credit.

Re: Try Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise For Free With New Switch eShop Demo
Yeah, it's a one-two punch, alright — awkward on-press rhythm game combined with mindless shadow boxing. This one's not for me.

"as well as gives a better overall workout"
More calories burned? Or does it also work more muscle groups/can target muscle groups?
Personally, I like RFA for mixing it up, but I HATE the small calorie burn.
And yes, I'm downloading this immediately when I get home, because, as nice as RFA is, I've already beaten it so my motivation to play it is gone.

@AlexSwitch10 Thinking mostly of how the game is less about a potentially intriguing war or conflict, and now far more of a VN / dating sim.
The game did have a few design missteps which I believe are best summarized in this small reddit thread (with people that can speak to it better than I can):
