@Eel Definitely a pendant necklace sort of design, isn't it? But this ring is still neat regardless! Perfect for when you find that one "fish in the sea" and are right for each other!
I can definitely say that this is not what I was thinking would be added when I noted that BMZ2 only had one extra mode... Hope it's zany fun for the fans!
Good - the mobile money well had largely dried up, anyway. Not that Nintendo was going to do the scummy methods to make the kind of money that mobile promised.
Despite the instrumentation, the music is definitely catchy and the happier/energetic melodies are pleasant. I see the purpose of the Monster Cards, but they're a pain to switch between - maybe some equippable decks that can be switched with ZR or something. Hoping for new art styles and music instruments going forward!
And ooh, free fun add-ons? What is? Probably Hardcore Mode and maybe a minor outfit mode like Dancer or coughSmashIhopecough something else.
@playstation_king It is On-Rails, and if it's anything like the original, it'll be a set handful of themed areas. The trick is, completion isn't that simple. The photos need to have a good enough combined score to progress. You gradually obtain apples, Pester Balls, and the Poké Flute to cause certain reactions out of Pokémon and portions of the environment. Getting to the palmsweat-inducing true final area takes a little puzzle solving and completing the island's Pokédex will stretch your brain quite a bit more. On top of that, you can try to get higher photo scores by unique interactions between Pokémon (some you have to figure out how and when to trigger). Sharing the photos (was printed stickers, now it'll be social media posts) is the cherry on top.
You know, the more I think about the camera controls needing to be close to the Switch Labo VR Headset to be immersive and some other factors, the less likely I think it is that it'll use the current Labo VR setup, if at all. Could, just not as likely as I thought.
@rjejr Costco had it and the Robot Kit for $26.99 a month ago, and nothing's concrete yet, so I'm definitely not in a hurry to buy. Bamco did work on Smash Bros. which has a VR Mode though, TPC loves gimmicks (toothbrushing???), and Nintendo would want to move Labo units, so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see it supported.
"I'm disappointed in the scope."
"It should have been open world."
Whoa now, hold your Rapidash. It's been two decades since the last entry, they've got several gens' worth of critters to catch up on, and Bamco's handling the details as opposed to HAL.
Let this one be On-Rails — to see how the format is received, to ensure that they're matching both the aesthetic and gameplay charms of the original, and to wet the feet of every employee involved and work out any bugs before expanding to something grand.
Sounds like it's time for the Ring-Con (or perhaps a new model of it?) to be sold separately and a digital version of the game to be sold at a discount of some sort.
@RareFan I agree, but frankly, this franchise is more absurd (and not in a good way) than Shovel Knight or Yokai Watch. I don't even know if those things would do enough to bring this thing up to the level of Nintendo's other IP's. But, they have their cult followings, I guess. These 3 franchises just offer nothing of interest in their "Elevator Pitch" and are too goofy to enjoy.
How's it done correctly? Rare's stuff was absurd, but coherent. WayForward's franchises are even more absurd, but follow just enough logic while throwing humorous curveballs that one is entertained in suspending their disbelief.
@patbacknitro18 Minigames aren't a terrible thing, necessarily! SMRPG and FF7 benefitted greatly from how they weaved in and out of the narrative. When they become too tedious, predictable, or numerous, that's when it becomes an issue.
I haven't played any NMH game, but this post is just me throwing support for this if implemented meaningfully and that's their passion.
"unauthorized operating system" Meh. "and accompanying piracy tools" Now that's a defense. "It just backs up games!" And....? "...circumvents protections." Bingo bongo, you were absolutely in the wrong-o.
peeks over at PS5 announcement articles Oh hey, here's hoping that Horizon: Forbidden West properly polishes up what Horizon: Zero Dawn attempted, because the concept is nice.
Seriously, though — PS5 news is about to drop today, we were told ARMS rep news was slated for June, every other rumor that NL has been clinging onto for dear ad revenue, and it's been radio silence from Nintendo as far as what will replace their (undoubtedly, already largely prepared) "E3" Direct. What the heck.
@Morph If that were the case (and that is a valid point), wouldn't that be the case for every retailer everywhere? This article is just mentioning these 2 products and a handful of sellers.
@gcunit There is no reason for the price to jump, neither production costs nor extended stocking/storage expenses, it's purely OOH DEMAND HURDY URDY URDLE GURDLE GOUGE PEOPLE MORE BECAUSE THE RULES AREN'T STOPPING US Acting like Americans, for shame.
@RupeeClock Larger retailers are selling way more products than just Nintendo Switches and Ring Fit Adventure. As for the individual sellers, they don't have the overhead that comes with being a giant business. So this applies to neither of these scenarios.
@ReaperExTenebris And Capcom's mobile offerings have been no exception to that rule of thumb. However, the game would stand a better chance of being akin to SatSS or the FF ports since it started life as a traditional game. I would, of course, still expect some weapons or cosmetics to be yet locked behind further paywalls even after purchasing the initial game because insert anti-Crony Capitalism rant here
This was practically ready for 3DS. Demo and everything. Upside is, it'd now probably run on smartphones (or at least be easily optimized for such) and definitely would be right at home on Switch.
Seeing as the first All-Stars collection meaningfully updated SMB1-3, I think it's only appropriate that SM64/SMS/SMG1/SMG2 get proper polish (using Odyssey as its foundation).
No way is Kirby Superstar not #3. It's objectively better than each of those games at something (context-sensitive communication to the player and controls for Super Metroid, instrumentation and variety of art for Super Mario Kart, and pacing along with not causing collectible-fatigue for Super Mario World 2).
JP is not only Line Vomit but it also completely cut out playable character Tails in favor of making it look like you play as Sonic, Knuckles, or both. I suspect I'd respect this idea more if it played on all 3 being present as they were like to do in the endings and file clear pictures. EU has Carnival Night, but once again shuns Tails and makes S&K look like a comedy duo.
NA has the Main 4 and plays up the island theme all on top of a fantastic color palette. NA wins handily, although using some gold graphics to match select game key art or using the same black lines to do some clever outlining/highlighting, Tails, and toning the number of lines back some could have given JP the win.
What is with the 1-week delays? Shantae and the Seven Sirens' EU version was also slapped with a 1-week delay due to "problems" that they wouldn't say what were.
@JayJ Honestly, after having collected varying sizes of collectibles over the years, "over-the-top" and larger is just a better approach. The little trinkets are a pain to upkeep, visually lame, and all too inviting of the "hoarder" vibe.
@Jokerwolf But are they always RPG's? Gets back into that whole debate of "At what amount of math plus self-insertion is something an RPG?" debate. I've seen so many of these without equipment or spells that I prefer Map Crawler, myself (ala Dungeon Crawler).
@ermzzz Much more balanced and paced this time around. The bosses are a bit annoying in that you'll get attacked when you "solve the puzzle" and try to attack, but it's fine. After the third dungeon, do not hesitate to use the magic shields.
@MasterGraveheart If it were up to me, the next Smash would reboot and shrink the roster by (conveniently) focusing on (see: pushing) teams of 4 (to make the scatterbrained online as fun as possible): Pit/Palutena/Dark Pit/Hades--new villain or Viridi (would prefer Hades' fun snark) Fox/Falco/Peppy/Slippy Kirby/King Dedede/Metaknight/??? (Waddle Dee, I'd think) Link/Zelda/Ganondorf/??? DK/Diddy/Dixie/Funky or Cranky
