Pokémon Sword and Shield players in Japan will soon be able to get their hands on a new form of Zarude, a Mythical Pokémon that appears in this year's animated movie.
The new form, called 'Dada Zarude', will reportedly be distributed to fans who attend viewings of Pokémon the Movie Coco at Japanese cinemas starting next month. The film was delayed due to the coronavirus, and will now open in theatres on 25th December.
Dada Zarude is a special form of the Rogue Monkey Pokémon which wears a Celebi cape, as it appears in the new movie (thanks, Serebii). The original form of Zarude was also made available to Japanese players earlier this year, although neither has yet been distributed to players in other areas of the world.
Pokémon distributed in this manner are usually given away to fans around the world at a later date, so we'll make sure to keep an eye out for any info on official worldwide distributions in the future.

I don't remember there being monkeys in the U.K.
Then again, i don't remember there being lightning zebras in New Jersey either.
Is it the Sandstorm form?
@GilbertXI 😂😂😂😂
Edit: the funniest thing is I realized not only this monkey exists, but also the starter line.
The hell, do Japanese people think the UK is a jungle? Lol
Dan: "How is Zarude's alternate form pronounced again?"
Arin: "DADADADADA! DADADADADA!"
@clvr @GilbertXI in case of the grookey line it’s based on jane goodell. A well known British scientist that researched gorillas.
@clvr @GilbertXI EDIT: I recommend you both to watch lockstin and gnoggin’s pokemon design origin videos. Gamefreak is way more clever than you’d assume and its been the department where all money seems to go when developing a new gen.
@GilbertXI : Or koalas in Hawaii.
@clvr @GilbertXI I don’t think there are dragons, pink blobs and sentient magnets in Japan either...
@darkswabber i have watched a bit of it, but I thought the grookey line was supposed to be based off of the hard rock culture in the U.K.? I didn't know Jane Goodall was part of it too, interesting.
I'm not seeing any melting clocks or lobster phones here.
@Munchlax What are you talking about? There are plenty of sentient magnets in Japan smh.
It’d be brilliant if the rest of us could even get the first form.
Should be released to the rest of the world
@Munchlax c'mon dude I was having a laugh at the other guy's joke, don't be so pedantic.
@darkswabber didn't know that, thanks for the info!
I haven't watched the latest but I have some of Lockstin's older videos, quite interesting stuff!
@TheSmashTheorist it will be released to the rest of the world at a later date. I don't think we have to go watch a movie in theaters during a pandemic to get it either.
So when does the rest of the world even get the first form?
Wasn’t the first form also distributed for buying tickets to the same movie?
Guess I’ll have to keep waiting or just buy it off eBay...
@Shadowkiller97 : Along with shiny freaking Celebi, yes.
Me wants a shiny Celebi.....
@clvr I was joking too...
@GilbertXI We have monkeys in Gibraltar!
@VexingInsanity ah, you got me there.
@Munchlax oh sorry then, my bad!
@Noid super underrated comment 😂
I'll nickname mine ZADDY.
So when can we get one in the rest of the world? This isn't fair!!
@GilbertXI Gibraltar is part of the UK AFAIK.
This Pokemon looks kind of like a cosplayer...
@KingBowser86 I'm going to have that song stuck in my head for ages now.
Thought I'd missed the first distribution for a second there but I think this is a Japan only thing for the time being. We'll get Zarude at a later date.
