I’ve got the racer. I’m good.
What’s worth getting?
Perfect. Wasn't keen to pay full price for Racer. Now I can fulfill my destiny
@Seanvstherobots the pinball is good but i actually got the physical version cheaper than this
Racer is the best of that bunch for me. Someone needs to do something about getting a few more Star Wars games on the Switch. There have been loads on Nintendo consoles over the years.
Funny how UK/Europe is listed in £ although more people there pay in €
Missed opportunity to not have KOTOR available. Would be best way to play it on the go, as mobile is not ideal.
@Seanvstherobots - Of these, Racer is probably the best: Outcast and Academy are probably not that great on console and Pinball is....well, Pinball.
A shame other Star Wars games aren't available (Rogue Leader and Shadows of the Empire in particular would be nice) but at least we got Episode 1: Racer, which still seems to hold up fairly well for an N64 game, so I guess that's something.
Other than the pinball there isn’t a decent Star Wars game among the rest on Switch.
We need something new; Jedi Fallen Order or Squadrons. Yes I know neither would likely run on Switch as it is now, (although they said that about the Witcher 3) but maybe for the new Switch that’s being touted as coming soon. (Although maybe EA just don’t want Star Wars on Switch)
Or something new created exclusively for Switch, like a new Rogue Squadron.
@Seanvstherobots They're all good games. The racer is probably the most dated and least exciting for somebody that doesn't have nostalgia for it. But they're all good
Loved Star Wars Pinball. Get it if you're a fan of both things!
Jedi Knight 2 outcast for £4 sounds like a pretty good deal to me, I have not played that since I bought it for the Gamecube.
May get Jedi Outcast, despite the slog of the first few missions.
@FullMetalWesker
It’s the PC version.
Like Darth Maul, everything looks to be about half off!
@Fandabidozi
It's actually a hybrid of both the N64 and PC versions
There is also a Capcom Halloween sale where every Cap game with a horror theme (Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Onimusha etc.) is discounted.
@KingBowser86 more like darth maul but still oof
I got racer & pinball which seemed to have both reviewed reasonably well. I avoided the other two after 6/10 reviews on here. Not so sure now.
The ones I did download were based on previous experiences of fun gameplay on other older gen platforms.
@Laxeybobby Having played through Fallen Order on PC, there isn't anything in it that a well ported/created engine couldn't cope with. It's a whole lot of small areas, with relatively few enemies in any one location. We've had far more complex games on Switch.
Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort, I found it severely underwhelming. I can only assume it's highly rated since so many of the other Star Wars games are so bad, so it's relative to those.
Time to pick up SWE1 Racer, I think.
@aznable You're right, I'll edit it so the joke lands. (I haven't seen the prequel movies since I was a teenager.)
@Seanvstherobots
Like others have said, Racer is excellent. I don't know about the other games.
It would be great to get other classic Star Wars games on the Switch, though. The SNES sidescrollers were good. Something like Dark Forces would work pretty well, after the success of Doom and Duke Nukem on the Switch.
Already have all of these except Jedi Academy, but I’m also getting Academy, Outcast and Racer from LRG for some reason, so I guess I’ll hold off, temping as it is to get it for $10. No clue why I bought those, I don’t even care about physical games. I guess it was more the Star Wars collector in me than the gamer!
Anyway, as others have said, I really hope more classic Star Wars games are coming to Switch. I’d love the Super Star Wars trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, the Rogue Squadron trilogy (and Battle for Naboo) and Clone Wars. The NES games and Bounty Hunter? Eh, I’d buy them, but I’m not as into them. And those are just games from Nintendo consoles! KOTOR would be pretty rad. Keep ‘em coming!
Hmm, maybe I should pick up Academy...help show that there’s interest in these games on Switch...
@Beaucine I would say that Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy could both be described as “like Dark Forces”. But yeah, I’d like to see DF and Jedi Knight too.
@Krambo42
Yeah, I worded that wrong. I meant that as in literally Dark Forces, since Doom-likes are clearly a good fit for the Switch. I'm enjoying Dark Forces on GOG right now and I think it's great, and would double-dip on the Switch if it came.
@Beaucine Oh, gotcha. Yeah, I’d be down.
I bought Jedi Outcast 2 myself! Even with the problems the first person shooting elements supposedly have, I still want to give it a try, and especially at this low price point!
@Chlocean Very much agreed. I would easily pay for that one again.
Every Star Wars game on Switch = 4 games.
I'm disappointed with these games. Every single review has been horrible. The games haven't aged very well. I at least hoped that Episode 1 Racer would have been given an online multiplayer mode but it wasn't so not really feeling the need to buy that and race against the computer solely.
And we still aren't getting a single new Star Wars game on the Switch, because Disney decided to outsource EVERYTHING to EA, the worst company to choose from for Nintendo consoles.
@NathanTheAsian Well, the new Lego Star Wars game is new. Fallen Order wasn’t very fun anyway. I haven’t played Squadrons yet, though.
@Krambo42
Wow, I actually forgot about The Skywalker Saga. Other than that though, in terms of Jedi Fallen Order or Battlefront, there's definitely not going to be Switch versions unless this was an Apex Legends scenario.
@NathanTheAsian I agree. What I meant is,
I don’t really care that we’re not getting them myself. FO was boring and Squadrons doesn’t appeal to me. Battlefront isn’t my thing either. I’m actually way happier with SW Pinball, Lego SW and older games than I’d be with the EA stuff. I mean, it’d be nice to get more new games, but I don’t really feel that Switch is missing out based on what’s going on out there. As long as EA has the license for “games for the core audience” or whatever the deal is, eh.
KOTOR and Republic Commando are the only SW games I'd continue to rebuy.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here but I would love to see Jedi Fallen Order on the Switch. Currently playing on PC, would be epic on the go.
Picked up Jedi Outcast and episode 1 racer. Also own the retail pinball collection.
@ian_twofivesix
That is interesting. You got a source? I’ve got the GoG version on my laptop and I can’t tell the difference tbh. 🤷🏻♂️
Man, I would kill for the original, good Star Wars Battlefront 2 to be released again with online play. I had the PS2 version and spent countless hours fighting bots, but never got to experience playing it properly and probably never will thanks to EA
I wonder if they'll ever port all 3 Rogue Squadron games.
