@Pac-Fan yeah, I phrased that badly. I meant to say that it feels like consoles are becoming more and more choice driven, there are often different versions of a particular console and you can choose different controllers. I think it's a short step from mid generation console upgrades to being able to specify the 'tier' of components that go into your console's case (if not necessarily actually build it yourself), maybe even taking it in to get upgraded components fitted to replace the ones you started out with and Consoles move even closer to becoming diet-PCs. Except for Nintendo. They'll always be the exception somehow
"Oh sure, I knew the Dragmires, a lovely family. Their kid used to play with my son, he was so funny, always with the 'when I grow up I want to be the continually reincarnated embodiment of evil'. Ha. Good times."
@Nintendoforlife could be, assuming that it's the same means of production being used for both the switch and nes mini. With nintendo's track record of managed scarcity I subscribe to the theory that N hates to overproduce anything and would rather hit their profit goals and stop. But I do love a good conspiracy:)
@Nintendoforlife yeah, I could definitely be being harsh and reductionist out of ignorance of the behind the scenes. On the other hand Nintendo do have an extensive history of inaccurate public statements so I find it harder to give them the benefit of the doubt.
oh Nintendo, you could at least have made it clear at the beginning you were only planning a limited run (and you definitely shouldn't have trotted out Reggie to lie about it).
Plot Twist: Development switches to PS4 only thanks to massive cash injection by Sony. But even those of you without a PlayStation are cool with it because you guys only "invested in an idea" and "it makes business sense".
@CrazedCavalier I meant that on a long enough time line I'll either become hungry enough for more new Zelda content or there will be a good enough sale and I will end up buying the expansion. I said I'm not onboard with it but I don't feel strongly enough about it to go on a crusade and boycott it. I hope that clarifies enough for you.
@Spoony_Tech I was going to add to your comment with a list of past "alternative facts" presented by Nintendo over the years. A quick Google search to refresh my memory and I realise that I don't even know where to start! 😂
@JaxonH I was about 45% tongue in cheek, with a further 10% hyperbole thrown in for good measure when I said that.
I was going to reply to you to converse over our differing opinions but then "ignoramus", really?
@plusjkb I don't want to advise you to risk your order coming later than what you have already been told, but I recently made an order with amazon and had delivery stated as two days away, I went back to the product page and it was listed as available for next day. I made a second order and sure enough that one was stated as, and arrived, next day. Tl;dr amazon order system is full of gremlins don't necessarily expect it to update itself, maybe order one on another account and see if it has an earlier delivery date.
@ThatNyteDaez fair enough. Not everybody likes the same thing. I'm not even saying somebody needs to play it to have an opinion, I don't have to play 1,2 switch to say I have no interest in it from what I've seen. I meant the folks that declare the game, matter of fact, to be garbage as if it's objective fact.
Also, as a Wii u owner with no immediate plans to upgrade to switch. Having seen a number of occasions where commenters have lauded decisions to release games on Switch instead of Wii U, I must admit to a little schadenfreude at some of the salt present here.
I know somebody with Bipolar Disorder, when they're in a manic phase they overspend huge amounts of cash on techy non-essentials. They have also randomly booked flights out of the country with no plan or forward thinking. This guy reminds me a lot of them.
Nintendo didn't release enough copies. Nintendo didn't promote it properly. Nintendo didn't build a strong enough online infrastructure. Nintendo didn't stop that one negative review that inspired other negative reviews.
Each one of those supposed 'scalpers' is actually a Nintendo sock puppet account. The £50 rrp was bait, £125 is the true cost! Bwaahhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa
I can't comment on the game, but this thread has been most entertaining. I'll give it a solid 8.5 out of 10, right now, but I'd be prepared to go as high as a 9 in the event they release "Reviewer defends the review" DLC.
That mug looks fun, is it available outside of this bundle? @Deadlyblack I agree, the last time I got a decent physical item for pre ordering was the Fire Emblem Awakening art book (or the Deus Ex:HE comic book I can't remember which was more recent). That said the incentive for Gears of War 4 (get it before Dec 1st and you get download codes for all four previous Gears games) is pretty stellar.
@Gauchorino I agree with the principle of what you've said, but in the case of backing a Kickstarter there is no contract of sale. That's why I've never backed anything on it, it's far to open to chance for me to consider throwing my hard earned cash at it.
I just bought an Xbox One S. Would I have held off if there was any real NX news to go off? Probably. I may get an NX a year or two after launch now, but for the foreseeable future I'll be getting my Nintendo fix from my 3DS/Wii/WiiU backlog. Oh, and my NES mini.
Ah, the Jaguar. Atari's video game equivalent of the drunk guy who wrecks a party and gets thrown out, just to scramble his way back in through a window and puke in the punch bowl.
NL: There's a build-a-bear Evee plush. Me: I'm a 37 year old man, why would I want a stuffed Pokemon? NL: It's a limited edition version and it's sold out. Me: Nooooooooo! Now I want it!

These people are too chicken to play properly and are making Pokemon Go a shell of the game it should be. Niantic ought to fry their accounts. This is really making my blood boil!
I worked in a video game shop in the 90s (Game). As a joke I once cut out the Pokemon logo from a leaflet and glued it to an inflated bag (packing from a delivery box) and popped it on the front counter with a note saying"Pokemon Air". So many people asked me how much it would cost them that I think it could have been a best seller!
