Do the cloud saves only exist in the cloud or are they a back up to what’s on your switch? If it’s the later then I don’t care if they disappear if I don’t renew my subscription in time, i’ll Just reupload them once I’ve renewed.
I don’t understand the “click bait “ argument. You’re on the site already anyway. Do people normally just sit at the front page until something shiny catches their eye?
@Anti-Matter ordered from Base.com and they dispatched it two days ago. Maybe because of the bank holiday? I’m enjoying it but there is a day one patch I haven’t downloaded and i’ve noticed Ryu is prone to random heavy kicks (which in fairness did win me a round but are actually annoying as heck)
My copy of Street fighter 30th arrived today. So far I’ve played Street Fighter for the first (and probably last) time ever and now I’m jumping amongst the different versions of SF2. I’m sat outside a tent in a big green field but my phone still has reception so I might see if the online is up to much yet.
Funny you should mention Game Over (my favourite videogame related book).
I read that back in the 90s after a spell away from Nintendo. It filled a gap for videogame nostalgia and trivia during a time for me that was almost internet (and totally Nintendo) free.
Even back then I couldn’t imagine a time when Nintendo would have struggled to find US partners to carry their product but the detail given to those earlier, pioneering business moves of NoA in Game Over was fascinating.
I remember being surprised how much of the company was built off of the back of Donkey Kong (and I loved how Nintendo cut down Universal’s “King Kong” claim against them by turning the studio’s own tried and tested argument that there was no actual copyright on the monster back on them).
The main reason I loved that book, though, was because it kick started a major retro Nintendo phase for me (back in a time where you could build a pretty stellar NES collection without breaking the bank). Ultimately it brought me back to Nintendo gaming full stop.
It was fun to read about, what were at the time, emerging technologies and i’d like to go track a copy down just to read it again knowing how it all turned out.
@rjejr I thought they dessigned the box really well, yeah there’s a tv in the background but there’s also a hand removing (placing?) the switch to show it’s also portable. I can’t think how they could have more accurately represented the console on the box art.
@Spanjard people are assuming that the paid online service will be some amazing upgrade over what they currently get for free. I think they’re in for a disappointment.
in the UK, where the weather is the true 50 Shades of Grey, I like to keep my gaming reflective of the season (it helps to keep me oriented) so a nice bright game like this would work well for a June release
I had Freedom Planet on Wii U courtesy of the Friends of Nintendo bundle.
I thought the game was okay, I probably wouldn’t double dip but I’d be interested in the sequel.
Mostly I just want a new Friends of Nintendo bundle to come out.
Question: does NLife post the reasons they choose a particular winner? I can think of a number of people who I think would deserve a happy surprise after what they’ve gone through this year, but I’m not certain they would appreciate their business being shared, even anonymously, online. Thank you NLife and anonymous donor, you are both amazing and I hope you have great Christmases.
@Nincompoop I’m going to go ahead and assume this is an expertly crafted troll post that intentionally reads as the half baked and self contradictory nonsense of a tiresome edgelord. Bravo.
I met some great people in those first few months, I was uploading a Zombi U inspired comic and admiring art from a lot of talented folks. ToonBen... are you out there?
I nearly bought the key ring, then I remembered my tin of Nintendo key rings (mostly from ONM covers, preorder bonuses and the days before nostalgia tax meant they could 2x the prices). Thanks for the reminder!
@In_Ex_Fan wait, so we're saying that once Nintendo had made a choice not to purchase the remaining 51% they had no other choice than to sell their 49%. I'm quite certain that Nintendo would have been aware of the consequences of not making the purchase and Damo's point is entirely pertinent.
After all that time cutting their teeth on Smash maybe it was inevitable that all they learnt would result in a game, seemingly, this close to the original.
To me it doesnt look to excel past Smash in any area (character design, moves, stage design).
To me, it's value as a game is going to come either in the differences from N's originals or by its existing on a platform where Smash (technically) doesn't already occupy the space to give competition.
I know it's beta, but I hope differing stage designs are high on the list of priorities.
@JohnSReid wow, you did well to remember that lyric long enough to get it into a comment. I closed the video 2 minutes ago and the song has already evaporated from my memory.
@Fandabidozi because people like to feel superior by laughing at other people wasting money on electronic tat whilst simultaneously wasting money on their own preferred electronic tat.
@8itmap_k1d how did they mess with people on the switch? I read that even though they underestimated the price they honoured all their pre orders, losing money in the process.

Knuckles doesn’t have his glide ability without prior purchase of the ‘Knuckle Down’ pack.

Re: Video: How Well Does Virtual Reality Work On The Nintendo Switch?
