Toy manufacturer Good Smile has opened preorders for its forthcoming Figma Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Samus Aran figure.
Due for release on October 31st, this limited edition figure features plenty of articulation and comes with a morph ball and interchangeable arm cannon.
Here are some details, taken from Play-Asia's preorder page:
This will be Samus' third entry into the figma series, the previous two being from Metroid: Other M (but let's not talk about that, there was enough talking in that game). This figma is based on her appearance in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and looking at the released pictures it's very accurate to the game!
Translucent plastic was even used on the green areas of her suit for more accurate detail. The figma will, of course, be making use of figma signature smooth joints and the sculpt will allow for a very wide range of motion and articulation. In terms of optional parts, she'll come with four alternate left hands including a clenched fist, a splayed open hand, an item-holding hand, and finally her classic thumbs up! She'll also come with an optional part for her arm cannon to simulate firing a rocket, a morph ball, and of course, the standard figma stand.
As fans of the Metroid series have been waiting (very patiently!) on Nintendo to make another Metroid Prime-style game, until then we'll be able to recreate our favorite moments and battles with this amazing figure. It's expected to come out at the end of October this year but pre-orders end on May 13th. It's recommended to pre-order before the deadline as stock is not guaranteed after release.
- Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
- A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
- The figma includes a morph ball part as well as interchangeable parts for her arm cannon based on when she fires missiles.
- Alternate hand parts included a clenched fist, open hand, hand for holding items and the classic thumbs-up hand.
- The visor of her mask as well as the areas on her hands, hips and legs make use of translucent parts for improved detail.
- An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.

Grabbed mine yesterday. Never bought a figma before because they're so expensive, but I had to make an exception and get this one.
What's up with the random dig at Other M in those details?
This figma looks really great, though. I wish I had some money lying around to spend on this kind of stuff... especially considering that by the time I do have that kind of money, the thing will extremely likely be out of sale.
That really is a wonderful figure, even by Figma's standards. Very tempted.
That looks really good and yet..........I thought for some reason this was a tease for a new game. No more Metroid news unless it's a new game please!
@Spoony_Tech agreed. I would even take a prime 1 hd remaster at this point
...this requires the .."classic thumbs-up hand!"...
@liljmoore I'd take Prime 1 & 2 (or Prime Trilogy) on Switch Virtual Console at this point!
Now we just need a new game...
Limited edition? I figma'd as much!
Maaan, if I had money to burn...
Using figurines to test how many Metroid fans are anticipating a new game huh?. Cool idea, but I'll just wait for the game if it really is in development.
I had a pit figma for the longest time but I sold it because it served no purpose. Very tempting but that's all it is - tempting
It's so beautiful... I need one...
So is this like a transformers toy where you can morph her to the morph ball mode?! ;P
This looks nearly identical to the Other M figma from a few years ago.

lul
One of these days I will get a GoodSmile figure- the preorders are always so early though, you won't see the results of your money for aaaaaages!
@DiddlyDoneDead i preorder from amiami or amazon they don't charge you untill shipped ami ami takes longer to arrive since it ships from japan but they have them always with discount if you preorder early. I already have a few figmas and since i was'nt getting a switch this year i went crazy on nendoroids and figmas this year even took a risk on ebay and was worth it they look sooo good
Kind of looks like a repaint of the Other M one I already have. I'll skip
I never got the other M figma...I'll get this when it hits Amazon. I'm done with importing figma.
@elcheleivan Thanks, that's good to know! Haha I have my eye on the TP Link and Zelda...
Looks sick! My favorite thing about these Samus Figmas is that because of her suit, you don't even notice the puppetlike look of the figure's joints (though Figma usually does a good job of concealing them in the first place)
@sketchturner well its is the same character with the same suit so...
But still it looks quite different really.
Nice.
