FAST RMX has already been an early stand-out on the Switch eShop, delivering high quality futuristic racing and also showcasing the potential graphical grunt the system has over its predecessor. Shin'en Multimedia has been working on an update to add a bit more content, too, and it's almost ready.
It'll bring two headline features - Time Attack challenges and Friend support for online races - and will arrive on 18th/19th April, depending on your time zone.
Are you planning to give these new features a try next week?

Still in Zelda mode but will pick this up eventually.
Nice. Not sure I'll make much use of either but I'll appreciate them being there nonetheless.
That was... fast
Great to see this added, but I hope they also do something about the rubberband A.I.
It's a fun game... until the CPU racers decide you've been in 1st place long enough and race past you with double your maximum speed v.v
Good to see Shin'en supporting this game. I wonder if they plan to add more vehicles or tracks later on. But I haven't even unlocked all the tracks yet.
@NinjaSyao Funny, the rubberbanding actually seems better to me than a lot of other racers (cough, Mario Kart). There's definitely some, but it seems pretty fair to me.
@JasmineDragon Yeah, rubberbanding is a tricky beast to pin down due to it reacting to the player. I've seen multiple people who don't find it a problem at all, while others like me want to kill it with fire.
Doesn't really matter much at this point though as I doubt I'll be playing this game anymore once Mario Kart releases anyway.
That's cool though I really wish the Switch had better wifi, this game is unplayable online unless very close to a router and even then everyone seems laggy. All my other consoles work fine.
EDIT: Did some tests and it turns out the issues are with my internet.
@NinjaSyao I don't think it's that bad. Could it be improved? Sure. I was surprised when a CPU drove past me right before the finish line and got first only to discover it was the CPU player who was last in other races so it didn't matter. That never happens in Mario Kart.
The perfect excuse for me to dive back into it!
Awesome, I've been playing this title alot, great game and I can say this game feels like a completely new game over the Wii U version even down to controlling the vehicles it is soo much better of a version on the Nintendo Switch I highly recommend it.
Anyone else have a problem with progress not always saving? Basically it happens to me a lot when I go back to a cup I've already placed 3rd or 2nd in and improve my rank. As long as I'm still in the game it will register and also show the progress % increase, but sometimes when I quit and restart another day the progress is gone again. The only way to really make sure progress like that is saved correctly seems to be by finishing a cup you did not finish before after improving the rank on a cup you already did finish... Anyone else experience something like that?
Just beat Zelda so I'm looking for a new game.
I hope it brings the autosave bug fix along with it. I've lost progress because of this before I realized the game only saves your progress when you unlock a new cup or new racing team, not when you get 1st place.
This is a great eshop title, any additional features will only make me more addicted. Challenging yet loads of fun!
@Late Is it really rubber banding? I played a game of local multiplayer and went from 4th to 1st, blowing past my friend right before the finish line, by using a full boost gauge in the final stretch.
Good. It took me a while to click with this game. I guess this old man hadnt really played a fast futuristic racer since ps1 and wipEout.
Now that I can get into that "flow" with the game I adore it. Absolutely perfect for a quick 20 mins before or after Zelda.
@JunkRabbit
This issue is known and should be fixed with the update.
@Grumblevolcani i have no problem
@Shiryu not true I ranked 3rd it saved then I got 2nd it saved then 2 days later I got first it saved.
Awesome. I love Shin'en. Hope they bring some new/other games to Switch. Would love to have Nano Assault on Switch too.
@Slim1999 Dude, you gotta trust me: that thing saved at that point because you probably unlocked the next cup or a new team. I have had it happened to me 3 times until I figure it was a bug and it is well documented by other people.
@Shiryu Bem me parecia que nao estava a ficar louco!!!!! Aconteceu-me ja varias vezes :/
On topic: rubberbanding, PLIZ fix it. How come it's easier to finish 1st in Hardest mode rather than the easiest where you have to make perfect laps and still prey to the Switch gods to cross the line before the furious one in second!!!!
@Desy64 Oh yes, the rubberbanding AI is also a big issue in the game, I wonder if they plan on fixing that...
They need to add an unlock cheat code for those of us that are so amazingly rubbish at the game, that even though we enjoy playing it, we still haven't unlocked a bloomin' thing...
... not me, though.. asking for a friend!!
@Jayenkai Thanks, friend!
This game has been a lot of fun, so nice to see it getting even better.
I think I'm another victim of rubberband-ing moments; it's like the cpus are sometimes fooling you into thinking you're doing great, then shoot into beast mode the moment they see fit. 😂
It doesn't seem as bad though now, considering I -did- completely suck at the game at first.
@Mechageo What I was trying to say is that it was weird to see a CPU player who was last in the two previous races to be the one to win the third race. In Mario Kart, the CPU players always finish in mostly the same order, meaning that there's always someone with close to max points and someone who has almost none. They make it so that you always have a threat no matter how well you're playing. You have to get consistent wins since the same player is always going to take the 2nd or 3rd place when you're 1st. As soon as you fail to take the 1st place, they're going to take it instead.
They were smart to have this game out well before mk8, unlike redout which will probably get overlooked now.
@Captain_Gonru I honestly completely forgot about that app. That would be epic to see that be announced at E3.
Hope they make it easier. I too have unlocked everything but my children have problems with it (on their accounts), and I have cursed a lot.
Accidents are the worse part of the game, plus the ZR/ZL mechanic (need an octopus), plus the R mechanic (why don't just leave Turbo on the ground and make a shield like F-Zero? Why double Turbo? F-Zero already got it right), plus unbalanced AI (stronger on some tracks). Decent game, 7 out of 10, but it could have been fairly better.
@NinjaSyao Oh thank God I'm not the only one. The rubber banding is awful. I'll be spanking everybody, have two perfect laps and ZOOM! 4th place?! Too many times I've lost perfect runs to that. I agree. Update that please
@NinjaSyao I know exactly how you feel...at times it feels worse than old-school Mario Kart
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the whole friends online play supposed to come when the app launches?? I could have sworn that's when it was coming but maybe they will be using the internal friend code system for this and Mario Kart 8 like the Wii U had..
So Just online friends support? I wanna race against people around the world who swear they're good because chances are they're not..
Hope developers will fix the unfair AI racers, in any case this game lives their last two weeks before Mario Kart 8 deluxe lunch.
@Ohshadows What you want is already in the game (online matchmaking), online friends support is an extra feature being added next week.
@Ohshadows did u play the game? Online competition is there from day one.
Oh... Then nvm 😅 was getting the game today
is the online at least playable unlike bomberman r? Bomberman r is unplayable because of the online lag even after the update..
Still working on Zelda. But will be getting this later.
@Late That alone prevents me from getting this game, not gonna lie.
