Re: Ghibli-Inspired Puzzle-Platformer 'Out Of Line' Scores June Release Date On Switch

Kasma

I've watched everything that Ghibli has made, own several of their art books and visited their museum and I can honestly say that I'm not seeing the link with this game. Game looks interesting, but it seems to be a popular selling point to say it's inspired by Ghibli. Ghibli's output is so varied that I take issue with these 'inspirations' anyway. It'd be better to say they had been inspired by a particular film.

Re: Nintendo Wants To Know What You Think About The Demo For Square Enix's New Tactical RPG

Kasma

Played the demo and it was everything I wanted it to be. As a clear successor to Tactics Ogre it did everything that it needed to for me to be sold on it. It's got a few rough edges for sure, the voice acting in particular is awful, but the fact that they're asking for feedback from players is particularly promising. I think this game is going to be great and I can't wait for the full game's release!

Re: Review: A Short Hike - A Landmark Game For All Ages

Just finished this game earlier. It’s utterly fantastic right from the first moment. I was particularly impressed with how accessible it is, and how effortlessly channels games like Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing whilst still remaining very much its own thing. It’s a perfect game to spend an afternoon enjoying.

Just picked this up on Kindle. Matt Alt and his wife, Hiroko Yoda, have also written some fantastic books on Yokai and Ninja that are well worth a look!

Re: Dinosaurs Come To Life In Minecraft's New Jurassic World DLC

Kasma

@PiggyDan16 That's insane, I had no idea it had those kind of issues! I've only dipped into Minecraft on switch to play some of the survival mode with my wife before we moved onto other games. The Jurassic World DLC appealed as I'm big on the original films and I assumed incorrectly that a game as popular as Minecraft on a huge system like the Switch would actually work. What I find even more astounding, though, is the lack of noise coming from the community about this!

Re: Dinosaurs Come To Life In Minecraft's New Jurassic World DLC

Just a heads up for everyone, I bought this earlier this morning and it’s practically unplayable. The park is on such a scale and there are so many things happening that the switch doesn’t seem able to load it all. Taking the monorail at the start, I was faced with huge blue areas that had not loaded and random pop in. For most of it, I was just watching unloaded areas roll by. Things seemed better when I was walking around, but as soon as I was tasked with taking the helicopter to different areas I was met with blue areas with the odd dinosaur popping in. When it does work, you’re only able to see a little way ahead of you at most, I’ve never seen anything like it before and I’m pretty angry that it’s gone on sale in this state. It’s a shame, because it seems like it’d be a great game and a lot of love has clearly gone into the design of it all.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th August (North America)

Kasma

Anyone know if they Switch version of Banner of the Maid has an updated localisation from the Steam version? I was really interested until I saw on the Steam reviews that the story is only just about understandable due to poor translation. Did a little digging and the Chinese team behind it chose not to get a specialised team in for it and it really showed.

Re: Nintendo To Cut Back On Mobile Games After Animal Crossing Success, Says Report

Kasma

Their resources and talent are better spent on console releases in my opinion. There’s such mistrust around mobile gaming, most of it earned, that most people didn’t want to see Nintendo enter that world. With some of their recent decisions and actions being quite questionable (Mario Kart Tour) I think it’s only a good thing that they move away from mobile gaming!

Re: GAME Staff "Increasingly Worried" About Animal Crossing: New Horizons Demand During Coronavirus Outbreak

Kasma

Despite the city I work in shutting down all public transport and closing shops, my place of work forced all staff to come to work, despite it not being necessary for our profession, and against the constant requests of the staff. It was only when the government forced the place to close that we were allowed to work from home. The employees at Game and Gamestop are just some of many staff bases seeing their employers put profits first. In the case of Game, all we can do as consumers is to call the company out on social media and go digital to further reinforce the point.

Re: Random: GAME Mentions Non-Existent Nintendo Direct, Quickly Removes All Evidence

Kasma

With the affect that the Coronavirus is having on various industries, it’s not unreasonable to think that it’s affected the availability of parts and production for a range of unannounced Nintendo games. The reason we haven’t had a direct yet is probably down to them having to rearrange their schedule due to internal delays and difficulties. With the way things are at the minute they might not actually know when they can distribute their upcoming products.
